3.1 Cables and accessories

3.2 Cable connection chart
Please follow the connection chart accurately (detailed instructions below).
After the cables are all connected, you will be able to switch between the original Mercedes and the
CarPlay interfaces by long pressing the “★” button on the car’s centre console handwriting mouse.

3.3 Power cable connection
1) Unplug the OEM original power cable from the head unit and reconnect it to the new cable harness.
Then plug the new cable into the head unit.
2) If your car has fibre optic cable, you need to move the original fibre optic cable from OEM power cable
to the new power cable harness.
3.4LVDS cable connection
1 ) New LVDS cable 1 goes to the “DISP” (LVDS) port of OEM the head unit.
2 ) New LVDS cable 2 goes to the original LVDS cable.
Note: Connecting the LVDS cables incorrectly will result in a black screen!

3) Where to find the “DISP” port in the different OEM head unit?
“DISP” port, also name the LVDS port, is a port in blue color, behind the head unit.

3.5 WiFi antenna and USB-AV cable connection
Note: To avoid losing the WiFi signal, make sure the antenna is not placed close to metal objects.
3.6 Audio GND cable connection
In the power cable harness, there is a wire with label “Audio GND”.
There is no need to connect the “Audio GND” cable, unless the sound of the CarPlay is distorted or with
noise or the sound can’t work.
If you have problem about the sound of the CarPlay, like without sound, noise, distorted sound, etc.,
please connect the “Audio GND” cable of the power cable, to the “GND” cable of the AV-USB cable.

3.7 USB Audio cable connection
USB audio cable will be connected to the car’s USB port in the centre console box, so that the sound
from the CarPlay function will work via the car’s USB function.

3.8 Where to put the CarPlay box?
The CarPlay interface decoder box should be installed in an appropriate space near, or on, the OEM head
unit. Or in the glove box.

4. CarPlay Decoder Sound Setup
4.1 Bluetooth settings
If your phone already has a Bluetooth connection to your car, disconnect it.
4.2 Connect the USB audio cable
Connect the decoder USB audio cable to your car USB 1 or USB 2 in the centre console box
4.3 Set the USB
Before using the CarPlay system, you need to set the sound input on your OEM interface to USB AUX
‘Media interface 1’ or ‘Media interface 2’, according to the USB audio cable connection position to USB1
or USB2. And the CarPlay /Android Auto system will have sound!

After finishing the USB AUX setting, long press “★” button from your car centre console handwriting
mouse, you can switch the system between the original Mercedes system and the CarPlay system.

5. Reverse and Front Cameras
5.1 Original OEM camera
Enter the “Setup” menu from the decoder main menu, choose “Reverse”, then make sure the “Reverse
Camera” option is set to “Original”.
Make sure that the following three options are all set to “off”.

5.3 Settings for aftermarket reverse camera and front cameras
After the aftermarket camera cables are connected, you need to check the camera settings (click the
“Setup” button from the decoder main menu).
“Reverse” camera settings: choose “Reverse”, from the menu and set the reverse camera to
“Aftermarket”.
the options “Reverse line detect”, the “Reverse display track”, and the “Reverse display radar” should all
be set to “off”.
Front view camera settings: choose “Reverse”, from the menu and set the front view time between 1 to
15 seconds.
