Riskswihrepaining
ThereareseveralriskswhendisassemblingorassemblinganAxisproduct.Thereisalwaysacertainyieldlossduringassembly.Training
ofoperatorsandtheuseofcorrecttoolsmediatessomeoftheproblemsbuttheycanneverbefullyavoided.Someoftherisksinclude:
ESDDamage-AlwayshandletheproductinanESDsafeenvironment.EvenifprecautionsaretakenthereisalwaysariskofESD
damage.Thedamagecanremainundetectedandcauseproblemsduringthelifetimeoftheeuipment.
Dustcontamination-Openingacameramayexposethelensandsensortodustorpaint.Dustwillaffecttheopticalperformance.
Lensesneedtobedisassembledinadust-freeenvironment,preferablyacleanroom.
Paintoverspray-Maskingthedifferentcomponentsoftheeuipmentiscritical.Failuretomasksensitiveareascancauseproblems
withassemblingtheeuipment.Anyareasthatarenotpaintedatfactoryorhaveadifferentsurfacetreatmentthantherestofthe
parts(threads,groundandelectricalcontactsurfaces)mustalsobemaskedtoensurefunction.

Preparaions
•Ifapplicable,disassemblethedeviceaccordingtotheinstructionsinthisdocument.
•Cleanallpartsthatwillberepaintedthoroughlytoremovegrease,dust,oroil.
•Toensurereassemblyandfunctionalityoftheproduct,maskanyopenings(forexampleforscrews,LEDindicators,
ormicrophones)beforeyoupaint.
•Toavoidunwantedreections,masktheinsideoftheweathershieldbeforeyoupaint.
Prereamenofpars
•Useaprimertopretreatthepartsbeforeyoupaint.

4.Removethedomefromthedomecoverbyreleasingitfromthesnapts.
5.Removetheanti-reectionring.Don’tpaintit.
Repaining
1.Makesureallnecessarypreparationsoftheweathershieldanddomecoverhavebeenmade,seePreparationsonpage.
2.Applyathinandevenlayerofspraypaintaccordingtotheinstructionsofthepaintmanufacturer.
Important
Avoidpaintbuild-upintheareamarkedwithredcolor.
3.Letthepaintdry.
4.Togetabettercoverageandclearercolor,applyasecondlayerofspraypaint.
5.Whenthepaintisdry,removethemaskingandreassembletheproduct.
Reassembly
1.Reattachtheanti-reectionringandthedometothedomecover.
2.Reassembletheweathershield,domecoverandcameraandtightenthescrews(torue1.0Nm,0.7lbft).
