ThecameraattachesaparticularVLANtagtoallitsforwardedmulticastpacages.Themediaconverterswitchmanageshowthese
multicastpacagesareforwardedbetweencameras,mediaconverterswitchesandothernetwordevices.Thisespeciallyusefulwhen
connectingthecameraandmediaconverterswitchtothenetworinadaisychain.
Bychangingthepositionofthedipswitches,eachnetworconnectorportinthemediaconverterswitchcanbecongured
tomanagemulticastsinthreedifferentways.

H.264can,withoutcompromisingimagequality,reducethesizeofadigitalvideolebymorethan80%comparedwiththeMotion
JPEGformatandasmuchas50%morethantheMPEG-4standard.Thismeansthatmuchlessnetworbandwidthandstoragespace
arerequiredforavideole.Orseenanotherway,muchhighervideoqualitycanbeachievedforagivenbitrate.
