wth the applance. Cleanng and user mantenance shall not be
made by chldren wthout supervson.
Installation warnings
•
Ask an authorzed dealer to nstall ths ar condtoner. Inapproprate
nstallaton may cause water leakage, electrc shock, or fre.
•
All repars, mantenance and relocaton of ths unt must be
performed by an authorzed servce techncan. Inapproprate
repars can lead to serous njury or product falure.
Warnings for product use
•
If an abnormal stuaton arses (lke a burnng smell), mmedately
turn off the unt and pull the power plug. Call your dealer for
nstructons to avod electrc shock, fre or njury.
•
Do not nsert fngers, rods or other objects nto the ar nlet or
outlet. Ths may cause njury, snce the fan may be rotatng at hgh
speeds.

Do not use flammable sprays such as har spray, lacquer or pant
near the unt. Ths may cause fre or combuston.
•
Do not operate the ar condtoner n places near or around
combustble gases. Emtted gas may collect around the unt and
cause exploson.
•
Do not operate the ar condtoner n a wet room (e.g., bathroom or
laundry room). Ths can cause electrcal shock and cause the product
to deterorate.
•
Do not expose your body drectly to cool ar for a prolonged perod
of tme.
Electrical warnings
•
Only use the specfed power cord. If the power cord s damaged, t
must be replaced by the manufacturer or certfed servce agent.
•
Keep power plug clean. Remove any dust or grme that accumulates
on or around the plug. Drty plugs can cause fre or electrc shock.
•
Do not pull power cord to unplug unt. Hold the plug frmly and pull
t from the outlet. Pullng drectly on the cord can damage t, whch
can lead to fre or electrc shock.
•
Do not use an extenson cord, manually extend the power cord, or
connect other applances to the same outlet as the ar condtoner.
Poor electrcal connectons, poor nsulaton, and nsuffcent voltage
can cause fre.
Cleaning and maintenance warnings
•
Turn off the devce and pull the plug before cleanng. Falure to do
so can cause electrcal shock.

2.2 Achevng optmal performance
Optmal performance for the COOL, HEAT, and DRY modes can be acheved n the followng
temperature ranges. When your ar condtoner s used outsde of these ranges, certan safety
protecton features wll actvate and cause the unt to perform less than optmally.

When outsde temperature s below 0°C (32°F ), we strongly recommend keepng the unt plugged n
at all tme to ensure smooth ongong performance.

To further optimize the performance of your unit, do the following:

Keep doors and wndows closed.
•
Lmt energy usage by usng TIMER ON and TIMER OFF functons.
•
Do not block ar nlets or outlets.
•
Regularly nspect and clean ar flters.

2.5 Other features
•
Auto-restart
If the unt loses power, t wll automatcally restart wth the pror settngs once power has been
restored.
•
Anti-mildew (some units)
When turnng off the unt from COOL, AUTO (COOL), or DRY modes, the ar condtoner wll contnue
operate at very low power to dry up condensed water and prevent mldew growth.
•
Refrigerant Leakage Detection (some units)
The ndoor unt wll automatcally dsplay “EC” when the unt detects refrgerant leakage.

•
Wireless control (some units)
Wreless control allows you to control your ar condtoner usng your moble phone and a Wreless
connecton.
For the USB devce access, replacement, mantenance operatons must be carred out by
professonal staff.
•
Louver angle memory (some units)
When turnng on your unt, the louver wll automatcally resume ts former angle.
For a detaled explanaton of your unt's advanced functonalty (such as TURBO mode and ts self-
cleanng functons), refer to the Remote Control Manual.

Setting angle of air flow
Setting vertical angle of air flow
Whle the unt s on, use the SWING/DIRECT button to set the drecton (vertcal angle) of arflow.
1. Press the SWING/DIRECT button once to actvate the louver. Each tme you press the button, t
wll adjust the louver by 6°. Press the button untl the drecton you prefer s reached.
2. To make the louver swng up and down contnuously, press and hold the SWING/DIRECT button
for 3 seconds. Press t agan to stop the automatc functon.
Setting horizontal angle of air flow
The horzontal angle of the arflow must be set manually. Grp the deflector rod (See Fig.B) and
manually adjust t to your preferred drecton.
For some units, the horzontal angle of the arflow can be set by remote control, please refer to the
Remote Control Manual.

Note on louver angles
When usng COOL or DRY mode, do not set louver at too vertcal an angle for long
perods of tme. Ths can cause water to condense on the louver blade, whch wll drop
on your floor or furnshngs. (See Fig.A)
When usng COOL or HEAT mode, settng the louver at too vertcal an angle can reduce
the performance of the unt due to restrcted ar flow.
Do not move louver by hand. Ths wll cause the louver to become out of sync. If ths
occurs, turn off the unt and unplug t for a few seconds, then restart the unt. Ths wll
reset the louver.

Sleep operation
The SLEEP functon s used to decrease energy use whle you sleep (and don't need the same
temperature settngs to stay comfortable). Ths functon can only be actvated va remote control.
Press the SLEEP button when you are ready to go to sleep. When n COOL mode, the unt wll
ncrease the temperature by 1°C (2°F) after 1 hour, and wll ncrease an addtonal 1°C (2°F) after
another hour. When n HEAT mode, the unt wll decrease the temperature by 1°C (2°F) after 1 hour,
and wll decrease an addtonal 1°C (2°F) after another hour.
It wll hold the new temperature for 5 hours, then the unt wll turn off automatcally.

3 Manual operaton (wthout remote)
3.1 How to operate your unt wthout the remote control
In the event that your remote control fals to work, your unt can be operated manually wth the
MANUAL CONTROL button located on the ndoor unt. Note that manual operaton s not a long-term
soluton, and that operatng the unt wth your remote control s strongly recommended.
Before manual operation
Unt must be turned off before manual operaton.
To operate your unt manually:
1. Open the front panel of the ndoor unt.
2. Locate the MANUAL CONTROL button on the rght-hand sde of the unt.
3. Press the MANUAL CONTROL button one tme to actvate FORCED AUTO mode.
4. Press the MANUAL CONTROL button agan to actvate FORCED COOLING mode.
5. Press the MANUAL CONTROL button a thrd tme to turn the unt off.
6. Close the front panel.

The manual button s ntended for testng purposes and emergency
operaton only. Please do not use ths functon unless the remote control
s lost and t s absolutely necessary. To restore regular operaton, use
the remote control to actvate the unt.

4 Care and mantenance
4.1 Cleanng your ndoor unt
A
Before cleanng or mantenance
Always turn off your air conditioner system and disconnect its
power supply before cleaning or maintenance.

Warnng
Only use a soft, dry cloth to wpe the unt clean. If the unt s especally
drty, you can use a cloth soaked n warm water to wpe t clean.
•
Do not use chemcals or chemcally treated cloths to clean the unt
•
Do not use benzene, pant thnner, polshng powder or other
solvents to clean the unt. They can cause the plastc surface to crack
or deform.
•
Do not use water hotter than 40°C (104°F) to clean the front panel.
Ths can cause the panel to deform or become dscolored.
4.2 Cleanng your ar flter
A clogged ar condtoner can reduce the coolng effcency of your unt, and can also be bad for your
health. Make sure to clean the flter once every two weeks.
1. Lft the front panel of the ndoor unt.
2. Frst press the tab on the end of flter to loosen the buckle, lft t up, then pull t towards yourself.
3. Now pull the flter out.
4. If your flter has a small ar freshenng flter, unclp t from the larger flter. Clean ths ar freshenng
flter wth a hand-held vacuum.
5. Clean the large ar flter wth warm, soapy water. Be sure to use a mld detergent.
6. Rnse the flter wth fresh water, then shake off excess water.
7. Dry t n a cool, dry place, and refran from exposng t to drect sunlght.
8. When dry, re-clp the ar freshenng flter to the larger flter, then slde t back nto the ndoor unt.
9. Close the front panel of the ndoor unt.

Before changng the flter or cleanng, turn off the unt and dsconnect
ts power supply.
•
When removng flter, do not touch metal parts n the unt. The sharp
metal edges can cut you.
•
Do not use water to clean the nsde of the ndoor unt. Ths can
destroy nsulaton and cause electrcal shock.
•
Do not expose flter to drect sunlght when dryng. Ths can shrnk the
flter.
4.3 Ar flter remnders (optonal)
4.3.1 Ar flter cleanng remnder
After 240 hours of use, the dsplay wndow on the ndoor unt wll flash "CL." Ths s a remnder to clean
your flter. After 15 seconds, the unt wll revert to ts prevous dsplay.
To reset the remnder, press the LED button on your remote control 4 tmes, or press the MANUAL
CONTROL button 3 tmes. If you don't reset the remnder, the "CL" ndcator wll flash agan when you
restart the unt.
4.3.2 Ar flter replacement remnder
After 2,880 hours of use, the dsplay wndow on the ndoor unt wll flash "nF." Ths s a remnder to
replace your flter. After 15 seconds, the unt wll revert to ts prevous dsplay.
To reset the remnder, press the LED button on your remote control 4 tmes, or press the MANUAL
CONTROL button 3 tmes. If you don't reset the remnder, the "nF" ndcator wll flash agan when you
restart the unt.

by an authorzed dealer or a lcensed servce provder.

4.4Mantenance - long perods of non-use
If you plan not to use your ar condtoner for an extended perod of tme, do the followng:

4.5 Mantenance -pre-season nspecton
After long perods of non-use, or before perods of frequent use, do the followng:
Check for damaged wres Clean all flters

If ANY of the followng condtons occurs, turn off your unt mmedately!
•
The power cord s damaged or abnormally warm
•
You smell a burnng odor
•
The unt emts loud or abnormal sounds
•
A power fuse blows or the crcut breaker frequently trps
•
Water or other objects fall nto or out of the unt
Do not attempt to fix these yourself! Contact an authorized service
provider immediately!
5.1 Common ssues
The followng problems are not a malfuncton and n most stuatons wll not requre repars.
Issue Possible Causes
Unit does not turn
on when pressing
ON/OFF button
The Unt has a 3-mnute protecton feature that prevents the unt from
overloadng. The unt cannot be restarted wthn three mnutes of beng
turned off.
The unit changes
from COOL/HEAT
mode to FAN mode
The unt may change ts settng to prevent frost from formng on the
unt. Once the temperature ncreases, the unt wll start operatng n the
prevously selected mode agan.
The set temperature has been reached, at whch pont the unt turns off
the compressor. The unt wll contnue operatng when the temperature
fluctuates agan.
The indoor unit
emits white mist
In humd regons, a large temperature dfference between the room's ar
and the condtoned ar can cause whte mst.
Both the indoor and
outdoor units emit
white mist
When the unt restarts n HEAT mode after defrostng, whte mst may be
emtted due to mosture generated from the defrostng process.
The indoor unit
makes noises
A rushng ar sound may occur when the louver resets ts poston.
A squeakng sound may occur after runnng the unt n HEAT mode due to
expanson and contracton of the unt's plastc parts.

5 Troubleshootng
Issue Possible Causes
Both the indoor
unit and outdoor
unit make noises
Low hssng sound durng operaton: Ths s normal and s caused by
refrgerant gas flowng through both ndoor and outdoor unts.
Low hssng sound when the system starts, has just stopped runnng, or
s defrostng: Ths nose s normal and s caused by the refrgerant gas
stoppng or changng drecton.
Squeakng sound: Normal expanson and contracton of plastc and
metal parts caused by temperature changes durng operaton can cause
squeakng noses.
The outdoor unit
makes noises The unt wll make dfferent sounds based on ts current operatng mode.
Dust is emitted
from either the
indoor or outdoor
unit
The unt may accumulate dust durng extended perods of non-use,
whch wll be emtted when the unt s turned on. Ths can be mtgated by
coverng the unt durng long perods of nactvty.
The unit emits a
bad odor
The unt may absorb odors from the envronment (such as furnture,
cookng, cgarettes, etc.) whch wll be emtted durng operatons.
The unt's flters have become moldy and should be cleaned.
The fan of the
outdoor unit does
not operate
Durng operaton, the fan speed s controlled to optmze product
operaton.
Operation is erratic,
unpredictable,
or unit is
unresponsive
Interference from cell phone towers and remote boosters may cause the
unt to malfuncton.
In ths case, try the followng:
•
Dsconnect the power, then reconnect.
•
Press ON/OFF button on remote control to restart operaton.
