Incorrect installation due to ignoring instructions can
cause serious damage or injury.

or lack of experence and knowledge f they have been gven

wth the applance. Cleanng and user mantenance shall not be
made by chldren wthout supervson.
Installation warnings
• Ask an authorzed dealer to nstall ths ar condtoner. Inapproprate
nstallaton may cause water leakage, electrc shock, or fre.
• All repars, mantenance and relocaton of ths unt must be
performed by an authorzed servce techncan. Inapproprate
repars can lead to serous njury or product falure.
Warnings for product use
• If an abnormal stuaton arses (lke a burnng smell), mmedately
turn off the unt and pull the power plug. Call your dealer for
nstructons to avod electrc shock, fre or njury.
• Do not nsert fngers, rods or other objects nto the ar nlet or
outlet. Ths may cause njury, snce the fan may be rotatng at hgh
speeds.

1 Safety nstructons
• Do not use flammable sprays such as har spray, lacquer or pant
near the unt. Ths may cause fre or combuston.
• Do not operate the ar condtoner n places near or around
combustble gases. Emtted gas may collect around the unt and
cause exploson.
• Do not operate the ar condtoner n a wet room (e.g., bathroom or
laundry room). Ths can cause electrcal shock and cause the product
to deterorate.
• Do not expose your body drectly to cool ar for a prolonged perod
of tme.
Electrical warnings
• Only use the specfed power cord. If the power cord s damaged, t
must be replaced by the manufacturer or certfed servce agent.
• Keep power plug clean. Remove any dust or grme that accumulates
on or around the plug. Drty plugs can cause fre or electrc shock.
• Do not pull power cord to unplug unt. Hold the plug frmly and pull
t from the outlet. Pullng drectly on the cord can damage t, whch
can lead to fre or electrc shock.
• Do not use an extenson cord, manually extend the power cord, or
connect other applances to the same outlet as the ar condtoner.
Poor electrcal connectons, poor nsulaton, and nsuffcent voltage
can cause fre.
Cleaning and maintenance warnings
• Turn off the devce and pull the plug before cleanng. Falure to do
so can cause electrcal shock.

• Do not clean the ar condtoner wth excessve amounts of water.
• Do not clean the ar condtoner wth combustble cleanng agents.
Combustble cleanng agents can cause fre or deformaton.
Warning

devces, thoroughly ventlate the room to avod oxygen defcency.
• Turn off the ar condtoner and unplug the unt f you are not gong
to use t for a long tme.
• Turn off and unplug the unt durng storms.
• Make sure that water condensaton can dran unhndered from the
unt.
• Do not operate the ar condtoner wth wet hands. Ths may cause
electrc shock.
• Do not use devce for any other purpose than ts ntended use.
• Do not clmb onto or place objects on top of the outdoor unt.
• Do not allow the ar condtoner to operate for long perods of tme
wth doors or wndows open or f the humdty s very hgh.

2.2 Achevng optmal performance
Optmal performance for the COOL, HEAT, and DRY modes can be acheved n the followng
temperature ranges. When your ar condtoner s used outsde of these ranges, certan safety
protecton features wll actvate and cause the unt to perform less than optmally.

When outsde temperature s below 0°C (32°F ), we strongly recommend keepng the unt plugged n
at all tme to ensure smooth ongong performance.

To further optimize the performance of your unit, do the following:
• Keep doors and wndows closed.
• Lmt energy usage by usng TIMER ON and TIMER OFF functons.
• Do not block ar nlets or outlets.
• Regularly nspect and clean ar flters.

2.5 Other features
• Auto-restart
If the unt loses power, t wll automatcally restart wth the pror settngs once power has been
restored.
• Anti-mildew (some units)
When turnng off the unt from COOL, AUTO (COOL), or DRY modes, the ar condtoner wll contnue
operate at very low power to dry up condensed water and prevent mldew growth.
• Refrigerant Leakage Detection (some units)
The ndoor unt wll automatcally dsplay “EC” when the unt detects refrgerant leakage.

• Wireless control (some units)
Wreless control allows you to control your ar condtoner usng your moble phone and a Wreless
connecton.
For the USB devce access, replacement, mantenance operatons must be carred out by
professonal staff.
• Louver angle memory (some units)
When turnng on your unt, the louver wll automatcally resume ts former angle.
For a detaled explanaton of your unt's advanced functonalty (such as TURBO mode and ts self-
cleanng functons), refer to the Remote Control Manual.

• Setting angle of air flow
Setting vertical angle of air flow
Whle the unt s on, use the SWING/DIRECT button to set the drecton (vertcal angle) of arflow.
1. Press the SWING/DIRECT button once to actvate the louver. Each tme you press the button, t
wll adjust the louver by 6°. Press the button untl the drecton you prefer s reached.
2. To make the louver swng up and down contnuously, press and hold the SWING/DIRECT button
for 3 seconds. Press t agan to stop the automatc functon.
Setting horizontal angle of air flow
The horzontal angle of the arflow must be set manually. Grp the deflector rod (See Fig.B) and
manually adjust t to your preferred drecton.
For some units, the horzontal angle of the arflow can be set by remote control, please refer to the
Remote Control Manual.

Note on louver angles
When usng COOL or DRY mode, do not set louver at too vertcal an angle for long
perods of tme. Ths can cause water to condense on the louver blade, whch wll drop
on your floor or furnshngs. (See Fig.A)
When usng COOL or HEAT mode, settng the louver at too vertcal an angle can reduce
the performance of the unt due to restrcted ar flow.
Do not move louver by hand. Ths wll cause the louver to become out of sync. If ths
occurs, turn off the unt and unplug t for a few seconds, then restart the unt. Ths wll
reset the louver.

• Sleep operation
The SLEEP functon s used to decrease energy use whle you sleep (and don't need the same
temperature settngs to stay comfortable). Ths functon can only be actvated va remote control.
Press the SLEEP button when you are ready to go to sleep. When n COOL mode, the unt wll
ncrease the temperature by 1°C (2°F) after 1 hour, and wll ncrease an addtonal 1°C (2°F) after
another hour. When n HEAT mode, the unt wll decrease the temperature by 1°C (2°F) after 1 hour,
and wll decrease an addtonal 1°C (2°F) after another hour.
It wll hold the new temperature for 5 hours, then the unt wll turn off automatcally.

3 Manual operaton (wthout remote)
3.1 How to operate your unt wthout the remote control
In the event that your remote control fals to work, your unt can be operated manually wth the
MANUAL CONTROL button located on the ndoor unt. Note that manual operaton s not a long-term
soluton, and that operatng the unt wth your remote control s strongly recommended.
Before manual operation
Unt must be turned off before manual operaton.
To operate your unt manually:
1. Open the front panel of the ndoor unt.
2. Locate the MANUAL CONTROL button on the rght-hand sde of the unt.
3. Press the MANUAL CONTROL button one tme to actvate FORCED AUTO mode.
4. Press the MANUAL CONTROL button agan to actvate FORCED COOLING mode.
5. Press the MANUAL CONTROL button a thrd tme to turn the unt off.
6. Close the front panel.

Warnng
The manual button s ntended for testng purposes and emergency
operaton only. Please do not use ths functon unless the remote control
s lost and t s absolutely necessary. To restore regular operaton, use
the remote control to actvate the unt.

4 Care and mantenance
4.1 Cleanng your ndoor unt
A
Before cleanng or mantenance
Always turn off your air conditioner system and disconnect its
power supply before cleaning or maintenance.

Warnng
Only use a soft, dry cloth to wpe the unt clean. If the unt s especally
drty, you can use a cloth soaked n warm water to wpe t clean.
• Do not use chemcals or chemcally treated cloths to clean the unt
• Do not use benzene, pant thnner, polshng powder or other
solvents to clean the unt. They can cause the plastc surface to crack
or deform.
• Do not use water hotter than 40°C (104°F) to clean the front panel.
Ths can cause the panel to deform or become dscolored.
4.2 Cleanng your ar flter
A clogged ar condtoner can reduce the coolng effcency of your unt, and can also be bad for your
health. Make sure to clean the flter once every two weeks.
1. Lft the front panel of the ndoor unt.
2. Frst press the tab on the end of flter to loosen the buckle, lft t up, then pull t towards yourself.
3. Now pull the flter out.
4. If your flter has a small ar freshenng flter, unclp t from the larger flter. Clean ths ar freshenng
flter wth a hand-held vacuum.
5. Clean the large ar flter wth warm, soapy water. Be sure to use a mld detergent.
6. Rnse the flter wth fresh water, then shake off excess water.
7. Dry t n a cool, dry place, and refran from exposng t to drect sunlght.
8. When dry, re-clp the ar freshenng flter to the larger flter, then slde t back nto the ndoor unt.
9. Close the front panel of the ndoor unt.

• Before changng the flter or cleanng, turn off the unt and dsconnect
ts power supply.
• When removng flter, do not touch metal parts n the unt. The sharp
metal edges can cut you.
• Do not use water to clean the nsde of the ndoor unt. Ths can
destroy nsulaton and cause electrcal shock.
• Do not expose flter to drect sunlght when dryng. Ths can shrnk the
flter.
4.3 Ar flter remnders (optonal)
4.3.1 Ar flter cleanng remnder
After 240 hours of use, the dsplay wndow on the ndoor unt wll flash "CL." Ths s a remnder to clean
your flter. After 15 seconds, the unt wll revert to ts prevous dsplay.
To reset the remnder, press the LED button on your remote control 4 tmes, or press the MANUAL
CONTROL button 3 tmes. If you don't reset the remnder, the "CL" ndcator wll flash agan when you
restart the unt.
4.3.2 Ar flter replacement remnder
After 2,880 hours of use, the dsplay wndow on the ndoor unt wll flash "nF." Ths s a remnder to
replace your flter. After 15 seconds, the unt wll revert to ts prevous dsplay.
To reset the remnder, press the LED button on your remote control 4 tmes, or press the MANUAL
CONTROL button 3 tmes. If you don't reset the remnder, the "nF" ndcator wll flash agan when you
restart the unt.

• Any mantenance and cleanng of outdoor unt should be performed
by an authorzed dealer or a lcensed servce provder.
• Any unt repars should be performed by an authorzed dealer or a

4.4Mantenance - long perods of non-use
If you plan not to use your ar condtoner for an extended perod of tme, do the followng:

4.5 Mantenance -pre-season nspecton
After long perods of non-use, or before perods of frequent use, do the followng:
Check for damaged wres Clean all flters

Safety precautions
If ANY of the followng condtons occurs, turn off your unt mmedately!
• The power cord s damaged or abnormally warm
• You smell a burnng odor
• The unt emts loud or abnormal sounds
• A power fuse blows or the crcut breaker frequently trps
• Water or other objects fall nto or out of the unt
Do not attempt to fix these yourself! Contact an authorized service
provider immediately!
5.1 Common ssues
The followng problems are not a malfuncton and n most stuatons wll not requre repars.
Issue Possible Causes
Unit does not turn
on when pressing
ON/OFF button
The Unt has a 3-mnute protecton feature that prevents the unt from
overloadng. The unt cannot be restarted wthn three mnutes of beng
turned off.
The unit changes
from COOL/HEAT
mode to FAN mode
The unt may change ts settng to prevent frost from formng on the
unt. Once the temperature ncreases, the unt wll start operatng n the
prevously selected mode agan.
The set temperature has been reached, at whch pont the unt turns off
the compressor. The unt wll contnue operatng when the temperature
fluctuates agan.
The indoor unit
emits white mist
In humd regons, a large temperature dfference between the room's ar
and the condtoned ar can cause whte mst.
Both the indoor and
outdoor units emit
white mist
When the unt restarts n HEAT mode after defrostng, whte mst may be
emtted due to mosture generated from the defrostng process.
The indoor unit
makes noises
A rushng ar sound may occur when the louver resets ts poston.
A squeakng sound may occur after runnng the unt n HEAT mode due to
expanson and contracton of the unt's plastc parts.

5 Troubleshootng
Issue Possible Causes
Both the indoor
unit and outdoor
unit make noises
Low hssng sound durng operaton: Ths s normal and s caused by
refrgerant gas flowng through both ndoor and outdoor unts.
Low hssng sound when the system starts, has just stopped runnng, or
s defrostng: Ths nose s normal and s caused by the refrgerant gas
stoppng or changng drecton.
Squeakng sound: Normal expanson and contracton of plastc and
metal parts caused by temperature changes durng operaton can cause
squeakng noses.
The outdoor unit
makes noises The unt wll make dfferent sounds based on ts current operatng mode.
Dust is emitted
from either the
indoor or outdoor
unit
The unt may accumulate dust durng extended perods of non-use,
whch wll be emtted when the unt s turned on. Ths can be mtgated by
coverng the unt durng long perods of nactvty.
The unit emits a
bad odor
The unt may absorb odors from the envronment (such as furnture,
cookng, cgarettes, etc.) whch wll be emtted durng operatons.
The unt's flters have become moldy and should be cleaned.
The fan of the
outdoor unit does
not operate
Durng operaton, the fan speed s controlled to optmze product
operaton.
Operation is erratic,
unpredictable,
or unit is
unresponsive
Interference from cell phone towers and remote boosters may cause the
unt to malfuncton.
In ths case, try the followng:
• Dsconnect the power, then reconnect.
• Press ON/OFF button on remote control to restart operaton.
