» Use the system only for its intended use.
» To protect against a risk of electric
shock, do not immerse any part of
the system in water or other liquids.
» Do not allow cord to touch hot
surfaces.
» Do not run appliance over cord.
» Do not operate the system with a
damaged cord or plug, or if the
appliance or any other part of the
system has been dropped or
damaged. To avoid the risk of
electric shock, do not disassemble or
attempt to repair the Tough 15.
Return the unit for examination and
repair. Incorrect reassembly or
repair can cause a risk of electrical
shock or injury and will not be
covered by the guarantee.
» Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and
all parts of body away from openings
and moving parts.
» Do not use to pick up flammable or
combustible liquids such as gasoline or
use in areas where they may be present.
» Do not pick up anything that is
burning or smoking such as
cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
» Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
» Do not use the Tough 15 without
the micro-particle filter in place, ,
except when vacuuming up liquids

voltage is listed on rating label. For
operation on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz
power supply only.

Assembly instructions:
Your Bennett Read Tough 15 comes almost fully assembled and
requires very little set up:
1. Remove unit from packaging
2. Remove attachments from their packaging
3. Some of the packaging poses a choking risk to small children.
Dispose of the packaging responsibly. Recycle if possible
4. Before using for the first time check that all attachments listed
are included. If the unit is incomplete, return to the retailer
immediately. Take entire unit, packaging and proof of purchase
to the store where your purchase was made
5. Insert the caster wheels (7) at the bottom of the Dirt Tank (6)
into the holes provided. Ensure the wheels go in all the way

Operations
Only operate your Bennett Read Tough 15 in accordance with the instruction
manual. Failure to follow these instructions will result in decreased cleaning
performance and may invalidate your guarantee.
Dry vacuuming:
Your Bennett Read Tough 15 Vacuum is perfect for vacuuming carpets, tiles,
mattresses, upholstery, curtains and car upholstery.
Setting up your Bennett Read Tough 15 for dry vacuuming:
1. Remove the motor unit (3) from the dirt tank (6) by lifting the locking clips (9)
upward
2. Ensure that the micro-particle filter (5) is securely installed in place
3. Replace motor unit (3) and clip locks in place (9)
4. Insert small end (opposite end to handle) of the flexi hose (12) into vacuum
function hose port (8)
5. Attach the 3 piece extension wand (14) to free end of flexi hose handle
6. Attach choice of cleaning head (15), (17) to free end of extension wand
7. Plug power cable into wall socket
8. Switch on unit using the power switch (1)
9. Vacuum in different directions across your surfaces to give you best results
After each cleaning session it is advisable that:
• The dirt tank be emptied and thoroughly rinsed and dried before storing
• The micro-particle filter is checked and cleaned if needed
This will ensure that the unit continues to deliver outstanding performance time & again
Wet Vacuuming:
Your Bennett Read Tough 15 can also suck up liquids* in and around your home…
Please note that the Bennett Read Tough 15 is NOT a carpet deep cleaner. Carpet
deep cleaning should be done with specialised deep cleaners.
Setting up your Bennett Read Tough 15 for wet vacuuming:
1. Remove the motor unit (3) from the water tank (6) by lifting the locking clips (9)
upward
2. Remove the micro-particle filter (5) (as explained below in the Maintenance and
Care section on the following page)
3. Replace motor unit (3) and clip locks in place (9)
4. Insert the large end of the flexi hose (12) into vacuum function hose port (8)
5. Attach 3 piece extension wand (14) to free end of the flexi hose
6. Attach wet pick-up vacuum nozzle (16) to free end of extension wand
7. Plug power cable into wall socket
8. Switch on unit using the power switch (1)
9. Vacuum wet spill / liquid from surface
10. When you are done, follow the cleaning instructions as outlined above
* Do not use to pick up boiling hot, flammable or combustible liquids
* Your Bennett Read Tough 15 is equipped with a float valve located at the bottom
of the motor unit which will partially shut off the suction as soon as the tank reaches
capacity. Immediately switch off the machine and empty the tank before continuing.

Maintenance and care
Blower Function:
Your Bennett Read Tough 15 has an additional function that allows you to blow
away leaves and grass that collect on your covered patio areas. Simply plug in and
blow the dirt away.
Setting up your Bennett Read Tough 15 to use the blower function:
1. Remove the motor unit (3) from the dirt tank (6) by lifting the locking clips (9)
upward
2. Ensure that the micro-particle filter (5) is securely installed in place
3. Replace motor unit (3) and lock clips in place (9)
4. Twist anticlockwise and pull to remove blower port cap (2)
5. Insert large end of the flexi hose (12) into Blower function hose port (removable
cap) (2)
6. Attach the 3 piece extension wand (14) to free end of flexi hose (optional)
8. Plug power cable into wall socket
9. Switch on unit using the power switch (1)
Emptying the Dirt Tank:
1. Disconnect flexi hose (11) from the Motor unit by grasping and twisting the end
of the hose by the Hose Port (8) and then pulling the hose outward
2. Take unit to disposal area
3. Lift locking clips (9) to unlock dirt tank
4. Lift motor unit (3) from dirt tank and place on ground
5. Lift dirt tank and empty contents into disposal area
6. Rinse Dirt tank under running water and dry
Cleaning the Filter:
It is necessary to wash the micro-particle filter (5) weekly
• To remove the micro-particle filter, turn the motor unit (3) upside down
• Grasp the locking mechanism at the bottom of the micro-particle filter (5), twist
anticlockwise and remove
• Wash the filter in warm water. You may use a mild detergent
• Allow to dry completely before replacing the filter
• Replacement micro-particle filters are available from major retail outlets
• Reassemble and store, ready to use!

Consumer Guarantee
The Bennett Read Tough 15 has a one year product guarantee from
Tevo (Pty) Ltd. In the event of the unit malfunctioning, Tevo will
replace or repair, at Tevo’s option, any faulty component, free of
charge from the date of purchase by the original purchaser for one
year, any defective or malfunctioning part due to manufacturing
defect. This guarantee applies to product used for personal or
domestic use only, and specifically excludes any malfunction or
defect arising from commercial use. This guarantee does not apply
to routine maintenance components such as filters and brushes.
Damage or malfunction caused by negligence, abuse, unauthorized
repair, or use not in accordance with the User Guide is not covered.
Tevo is not liable for incidental or consequential damages of any
nature associated with the use of this product. Tevo’s liability will
not exceed the purchase price of this product.
