ALLGEMEIN
Dieser Satz dient der Reparatur von Bremssattel-Führungsbolzengewinde im Bremssattelhalter.
Diese Führungsbolzen sind verbaut in vorderen Einkolben-Schwimmsätteln. Die drei Bohrlehren
stellen ein korrekte Positionierung der Bohrungen bzw. der Gewindebuchsen sicher.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN
- Tragen Sie immer Handschuhe, Schutzbrille und Sicherheitsschuhe.
- Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Komponenten, inkl. der Kupferscheiben, korrekt zusammengebaut sind.
- Achten Sie auf richtige Positionierung der Bohrlehre.
- Geben Sie ein wenig Fett auf den Gewindebohrer, bevor Sie damit arbeiten.
- Zum Bohren wird dringend empfohlen den Bremssattelhalter zu demontieren.
1. EIN GEWINDE DEFEKT
1.1. Entfernen Sie Rad, Bremssattel und Bremssattelhalterung.
1.2. Reinigen Sie die Bremssattelhalterung und spannen Sie diese in einen Schraubstock, dies
erlaubt einen besser Halt und Zugang zu den Bohrungen.
1.3. Reinigen Sie das nicht defekte Gewinde mit dem Gewindebohrer M12x1,5 . Hinweis: ein wenig
Fett am Gewindebohrer schmiert und bindet Metallspäne.
1.4. Drehen Sie den Führungsbolzen in das intakte Gewinde und positionieren Sie die Bohrlehre auf
dem Führungsbolzen.
1.5. Verwenden Sie die zweite Bohrung in der Lehre als Führung für den Stufenbohrer. Der
Stufenbohrer besitzt zwei Stufen, mit der ersten Stufe wird das defekte Gewinde ausgebohrt
und mit der zweiten die erforderliche Bohrung für die Gewindehülse gebohrt. In diese Bohrung
wird der Gewindehülse eingepresst.
1.6. Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Bremssattelhalter komplett aufgebohrt und die Gewindehülse gut
von der anderen Seite des Bremssattelhalters montiert werden kann.
1.7. Geben Sie etwas Gewindekleber von aussen auf die Gewindehülse und pressen Sie diese von
der anderen Seite in die angefertigte Bohrung. Hinweis: Stellen Sie sicher, dass die
Gewindehülse von der Seite eingepresst wird, die gegenüber der Montageseite der
Führungsbolzen liegt. So wird gewährleistet, dass der Bund an der Gewindhülse bei Montage
gegen den Bremssattelhalter gezogen wird und nicht herausgezogen werden kann.
1.8. Verwenden Sie eine Schraube M12x1,5 und das Axiallager und ziehen Sie die Gewindehülse in
die angefertigte Bohrung. (siehe Abb. 2)
1.9. Entfernen Sie die Schraube und komplettieren Sie die Bremsanlage.

2. BEIDE GEWINDE DEFEKT
2.1. Sind beide Gewinde defekt, muss zuerst mit dem Stufenbohrer ein Gewinde aufgebohrt werden.
Achten Sie beim Bohren darauf, dass der Bohrer zentriert das alte Gewinde aufbohrt. Setzen
Sie eine Gewindehülse, wie unter 1.7 bis 1.9 beschrieben, in die angefertigte Bohrung ein.
2.2. Fahren Sie fort wie unter 1.4 bis 1.9 beschrieben.

Repair Kit M12 x 1.5 for
Caliper Guide Pin Threads

GENERAL
This kit has been designed to repair the caliper guide pin threads in the caliper mounting bracket. This
brake calipers are used on the vehicles with single piston sliding calipers on front brakes. The
positioning bars ensure a correct positioning of bore and threaded bushes.
PRECAUTIONS
- Always wear gloves, safety goggles and safety boots
- Ensure all components are assembled correctly with copper washers in place
- Ensure correct positioning bar is used
- Always lubricate the tap with grease when cutting threads
- It is strongly advised the calliper mount/ Hub be removed from the vehicles before drilling
1. ONE THREAD IS DAMAGED
1.1. Remove wheel, caliper and caliper mounting bracket.
1.2. Clean the caliper mounting bracket and place in a bench vice so as to allow drill access to the
threaded holes.
1.3. If only one threaded hole has pulled (stripped), ensure the good thread is clean by running the
M12x1.5 tap through the thread. Note: Put a small amount of grease on the tap to lubricate the
tap and catch any metal fragments.
1.4. Re-fit one of the pins into the good thread and slide the appropriate positioning bar over the pin.
1.5. Using the second hole of the positioning bar as a guide drill the remaining thread out of the
mounting. The special drill bit is a double diameter drill that will initially drill out the damaged
threads then drill out the mounting to allow the threaded bushes to push in to the mounting.
1.6. Ensure you have drilled all the way through the mounting as the threaded insert need to be
inserted from the other side of the mounting bracket.
1.7. Using one threaded insert (complete with copper washer) smear a small amount of thread lock
onto the outside of the bush and push it into the drilled hole on the mounting bracket. It will be
an interference fit. Note: Ensure the insert push in from the opposite side of the mounting
bracket to the side the pins come in from. This is to allow the pins, when tightened, to pull the
bushes fully home and to ensure they can not come out during service.
1.8. Using a M12x1.5 screw and the bearing to pull the insert fully home (see fig. 2).
1.9. Remove the screw and re-assemble the brakes.

2. BOTH THREADS ARE DAMAGED
2.1. Where both threads have pulled, drill the first thread relying on the special core drill to centralise
on the first hole, fit the first threaded insert (see above step 1.7 to 1.9).
2.2. Proceed as described above in step 1.4 to 1.9
