Add a BRNKL Mate
Add wireless and other compatible devices to
BRNKL by adding a BRNKL Mate.
To add a Mate, follow these steps:

Disconnect all AC power sources before
accessing electrical panels, switches, or
devices.
Caution
If the boat or RV electrical system is
complex, or you’re unfamiliar with basic
electrical systems, hire a professional
installer or a marine electrician.

• 2.5 mm athead screwdriver
(included with BRNKL)
• Phillips #2 screwdriver
• wire stripper/crimper tool
• ashlight or headlamp

What you need
You need these things to add a BRNKL Mate to BRNKL:

• Avoid placement with ports facing up.
• Face toward wireless sensor locations.
Install Mate hardware
To install BRNKL Mate hardware, follow these steps:
A. Select position
Select a position to install the Mate
following these guidelines:
• Ensure a stable mounting surface.
• If using standard cables, place within 30
cm (12") of the installed BRNKL.

• Allow 10 cm (4") clearance to access the
ports on the bottom of the Mate.

B. Mount and secure
1. Align the Mate squarely in the selected
position, then mark the screw holes.
On hardened surfaces, drill pilot holes as
required.
2. Secure in place using the four supplied
screws.

Prepare POWER cable
From the Mate end of wiring:
1. Run the POWER cable to the connector
on the bottom of the BRNKL.

2. Leave 5 cm (2") of extra cable, then trim.

3. Strip 5 mm (1/4") of insulation from the
end of the red [+] and black [-] wires.
