What is the lifespan of the SC1302?
Our device is expected to last for 30 days with 15-minute reporting intervals. This is subject to change
with increased reporting frequency.
What is the proper way to dispose of the SC1302?
CalAmp does not dispose of device batteries on behalf of our customers, so please dispose of old batteries
and equipment in compliance with your local regulations. Proper disposal might include recycling programs
for batteries, devices, or other electronic waste.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
Is the SC1302 compliant with air travel safety regulations?
Our device is safe for flight transportation; however, airline carrier certification verification will have to be
verified prior to deployment.

Welcome!
Here’s a quick guide to activating and using
your new SC1302 device.
Once you activate your device, we’ll send you
an email with a link to view your device’s
information such as location and sensor
readings. Please keep this link as the data will
be updated on a regular basis.
How to activate your device:
Press on power button for 2-seconds then release.
Note:
A red LED light will continue to flash at 15-second intervals while the device is turned on.
Where to put your device:
To achieve the best transmission possible, your device must be placed inside a shipping
container or trailer.
Recommended device placement:
To optimize performance of your device, here’s our recommendation for:
•Shipping containers: place at the front of the container with the antenna facing up.
•Trailer: place at the rear of the trailer with the antenna facing towards the loading doors.
•Fiberglass roof: place on top of roof with antenna facing up.
•Wood floor: place on the floor with antenna facing down.
A few important things to note:
The antenna is located the top of your device (the button side should face up).
You should NOT place your device on top of the wheel well or axels!
