This complete workflow solution provides for a fast and effective
large-format capture-to-output system for a wide variety of users.
Copying, archiving, or distributing maps, CAD drawings, posters,
or documents is simple, quick, and easy. This system includes
not only the hardware–imagePROGRAF printer, Colortrac color
scanner, desktop workstation–but also software, such as
CopySmart, SmartLF, and the HDI driver, to give any level of
user a complete, out-of-the-box solution.
The scanner provides room for flexible document formats of up
to 44" wide (40" image width) by unlimited length. It has scan
speeds of up to 10.1 inches per second for monochrome and
3.36 inches per second for color, making this a powerful pro-
duction tool for many environments. It’s ideal for documents in
the AEC, CAD, GIS, archive, reproduction, and office markets, such
as maps (GIS); construction, engineering, and manufacturing
drawings; site and facilities management plans (VAC/plumbing/
utilities); court and property documents; design and layout
proofs; posters; and office documents.

The imagePROGRAF Series of printers, with Canon’s pro-
prietary print-head technology, enables high-speed printing
at 2400 x 1200 dpi, with precise 4pl ink droplets for high
image resolution, clarity, and detail. A wide variety of media is
available for applications, ranging from technical documents
to photographs. This solution is available now with the
imagePROGRAF W8400D, imagePROGRAF W8400, and
imagePROGRAF W6400 models.
A solution isn’t just hardware...
SMARTLF SOFTWARE
This “ready-to-run” software is easy to use and designed for oper-
ation by a novice user. Select the File, Copy, or E-Mail function,
the type of file to be scanned, and a few other intuitive settings.
Then place the original in the scanner and off it goes!
As the document is scanned, the image is displayed on the
screen to provide reassurance that what you’re getting is what
you want.
COPYSMART SOFTWARE
This software creates a multifunction scan/copy/print system,
maximizing investment and the utilization of the equipment.
CopySmart has a graphical user interface that adopts a “big
button” philosophy with which current Canon office equipment
users will be familiar. Utilize the software’s advanced feature set
of CMYK color controls, brightening adjustment, text or bitmap
insertion, crop, scale, zoom, and many others to edit documents.

that comes with an imagePROGRAF printer. Create stunning prints
right out of the box with software that’s designed to put your
ideas on paper. Or scan documents and import them into

1The scan rate is proportional across the full range of resolutions supported by the scanner. Actual scan times will depend on the host system performance. Speeds quoted are for documents less than 24 inches width (60.96 cm); wider documents scan half this speed.
2The quoted scan accuracy is valid for media up to 0.8mm thick and may vary depending on the operating environment and the type and thickness of media. SmartLF scanners are tested using a Mylar target at 20
° C +/- 30 ° C, 60% +/- 10% RH with the media feed set to standard.
