IMPORTANT SAFEGUIDES
Before the wine cellar is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as
described in this manual, so read the manual carefully. To reduce the risk of fire,
electrical shock or injury when using the wine cellar, follow basic precaution,
including the following:
• Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet, do not remove grounding prong, do not use an adapter, and
do not use an extension cord.
• Replace all panels before operating.
• It is recommended that a separate circuit, serving only your wine cellar be provided. Use
receptacles that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.
• Never clean wine cellar parts with flammable fluids. These fumes can create a fire hazard or
explosion. Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of
this or any other appliance. The fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion.
• Before proceeding with cleaning and maintenance operations, make sure the power cord of the
unit is disconnected.
• Do not connect or disconnect the electric plug when your hands are wet.
• Unplug the wine cellar or disconnect power before cleaning or servicing. Failure to do so can
result in electrical shock or death.
• Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of your wine cellar unless it is specifically
recommended in this manual. All other servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.

follow these basic precautions:
•
•
•
•
•
•
Read all instructions before using the wine cellar.
DANGER or WARNING: Risk of child entrapment.
Child entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the past. Junked or
abandoned appliances are still dangerous . . . even if they will “just sit in the garage a
few days”.
Before you throw away your old wine cellar: Take off the door. Leave the
shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.
Never allow children to operate, play with, or crawl inside the wine cellar.
Never clean wine cellar parts with flammable fluids. The fumes can create a fire
hazard or explosion.
Do not store or use gasoline or any other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
! BEFORE USING YOUR WINE CELLAR
Remove the exterior and interior packing. Read the Instruction Manual and Installer’s direction.
Check to be sure you have all of the following parts:
• 5 Full Roll-out Shelves
• 1 Bottom Small Shelf
• 2 Keys
• 1 Stainless Steel Handle with Screws
• 1 Lower Door Hinge Bracket for Door Opening from the Right Side
• 1 Instruction Manual
Before connecting the wine cellar to the power source, let it stand upright for approximately 2 hours.
This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from handling during
transportation.
Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.
Install the handle on the left side of the door.
! INSTALLATION OF YOUR WINE CELLAR
This wine cellar is designed to be for free standing installation or built-in (fully recessed).
Place your wine cellar on a floor that is strong enough to support it when it is fully loaded. To level
your wine cellar, adjust the front leveling legs at the bottom of the wine cellar.
Locate the wine cellar away from direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.).
Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption.
Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also cause the wine cellar not to perform properly.
Avoid locating the wine cellar in moist areas.
Plug the wine cellar into an exclusive, properly installed-grounded wall outlet. Do not under any
7

circumstances cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning
power and/or grounding should be directed toward a certified electrician or an authorized Cavavin
service center.
! BUILT – IN CABINET INSTRUCTIONS
This unit is designed for both built-in or freestanding
installation. If you plan to use this unit in a built-in
application please follow the requirements shown to
the right.

! ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
!Warning!
Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the power cord is
damaged, have it replaced by an authorized Cavavin service center.
This wine cellar should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this wine cellar is
equipped with a three-prong plug which mates with standard three prong wall outlets to minimize the
possibility of electrical shock.
Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third ground prong from the power cord supplied.
For personal safety, this wine cellar must be properly grounded.
This wine cellar requires a standard 115/120 Volt AC ~/60Hz electrical ground outlet with three-prong.
Have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the outlet is properly
grounded. When a standard 2-prong wall outlet is encountered, it is your responsibility and obligation
to have it replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet.
The cord should be secured behind the wine cellar and not left exposed or dangling to prevent
accidental injury.
The wine cellar should always be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet which has a voltage
rating that matches the rating label on the wine cellar. This provides the best performance and also
prevents overloading house wiring circuits that could cause a fire hazard from overheating. Never
unplug the wine cellar by pulling the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from
the receptacle. Repair or replace immediately all power cords that have become frayed or otherwise
damaged. Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage along its length or at either end.
When moving the wine cellar, be careful not to damage the power cord.
! EXTENSION CORD
Because of potential safety hazards under certain conditions, it is strongly recommended that you do
not use an extension cord with this wine cellar. However, if you must use an extension cord it is
absolutely necessary that it be a UL/CUL-Listed, 3-wire grounding type appliance extension cord
having a grounding type plug and outlet and that the electrical rating of the cord be 115 volts and at
least 10 amperes.

OPERATING YOUR WINE CELLAR
It is recommended you install the wine cellar in a place where the ambient temperature is between
22° ~ 25°C/72° ~ 78°F. If the ambient temperature is above or below recommended temperatures,
the performance of the unit may be affected. For example, placing your unit in extreme cold or hot
conditions may cause interior temperatures to fluctuate. The range of 4° ~ 18°C/40° ~ 65°F may not
be reached.
! RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE SETTINGS:
Conservation 10° ~ 14°C 50° ~ 58°F
Red Wines 14° ~ 18°C 58° ~ 65°F
Dry/White Wines 9° ~ 14°C 48° ~ 57°F

! ON/OFF POWER
To turn wine cellar ON or OFF, press the for ON/OFF button. The LED readout will show the
original temperature set previously (the preset temperature at the factory for LOWER ZONE is
15°C/60ºF and for UPPER ZONE is 10°C/50ºF).
! SETTING THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL
You can select temperature display setting from Fahrenheit to Celsius degree by pushing the °C/°F
button. Fahrenheit or Celsius degrees indicator will appear in the temperature display windows. You
can press the right side UP and DOWN buttons to control the internal temperature of the upper
zone and press the left side UP and DOWN buttons to control the internal temperature of the
lower zone.
The degrees indicators will appear in the temperature display window marked
for UPPER ZONE
and for LOWER ZONE.
The temperature range of UPPER ZONE is 4° ~ 13ºC/40° ~ 55ºF which is suitable for storing
sparkling and white wines. The temperature range of LOWER ZONE is 14° ~ 18ºC/55° ~ 65ºF which
is suitable for storing white and red wines.
The temperature that you desire to set will increase 1ºC or 1ºF if you push the UP button once, on
the contrary the temperature will decrease 1ºC or 1ºF if you push the DOWN button once.
10

When you store mostly red wines, you should store them in the LOWER ZONE, the temperature

When you use the LOWER ZONE, the temperature can be set at between 13° ~ 14°C/55° ~ 57°F and
the LED lamp for WHITE will be lit. When you use the UPPER ZONE, the temperature can be set
at between 9° ~ 14°C/48° ~ 55°F and the LED lamp for WHITE will be lit.

windows.
NOTE: If the unit is unplugged, power lost, or turned off, you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before
restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the wine cellar will not start.
When you use the wine cellar for the first time or restart the wine cellar after having been shut off for a
long time, there could be a few degrees variance between the temperature you select and the one
indicated on the LED readout. This is normal and it is due to the length of the activation time. Once
the wine cellar is running for a few hours everything will be back to normal.
! STORAGE
Many bottles may differ in size and dimensions. As such the actual number of bottles you may be
able to store may vary.
NOTE: You can place 24 standard bottles in the upper zone and 22 standard bottles in the lower
