• If used correctly and looked after properly, this helmet can serve you for manyyears.
However, for safety reasons, it is recommended that thehelmet be replaced after
2or 3years.
• If thehelmet is soiled by contaminants such as oil and paint, it should be cleaned
in thecorrect manner before it is usedagain.
Ear defenders
• Put theear defenders on before exposing yourself to high levels of noise and keep
them on for theentire time that you are exposed to thenoise.
• Do not expose theear defenders to corrosive chemicals. Doingso could impair
their ability to suppress harmful noises.
• The ear defenders and especially thecushions can age, which can reduce their
sound insulation properties. Checktheear defenders regularly. Thecushions
should be intact, thecups free from cracks and theheadband should be flexible.
Ifdamaged in any way, theear defenders should be replaced. Eardefenders
should be replaced every 2–3 years or sooner if they are fatigued.
• If more than one person uses thesame pair of ear defenders and some form of
hygienic cover is used on theearcups, this can negatively affect thenoise attenuation.
• Failure to follow theinstructions in this manual could seriously reduce thenoise
attenuation capabilities of ear defenders.
• If theear defenders are not worn correctly, not worn continuously or not checked
regularly, their noise attenuation capability could be adversely affected.
• The ear defenders contain metal parts which can increase therisk of electric shocks.
• The ear defenders are size “medium/large”, and are designed to fit themajority of adults.
• The ear defenders must only be used and maintained in themanner described in
this instruction manual.
Visor
• Bear in mind that thevisor does not afford thesame level of protection as
approved safety glasses.
• The visor will shield thewearer’s face from light, solid objects, but is not unbreakable.
• Always make sure that you have theproper protection for your working conditions.
Ifin doubt, ask your supervisor or check therelevant EU standards.
• A scratched or otherwise damaged visor might provide lower visibility and reduced
protection and should be replaced immediately.
• The plastic visor does not function as alight filter. Itdoes not protect thewearer
from splashes of molten metal, other hot solids or electric arcing. Themesh
visor does not protect thewearer from liquids. Thevisors do not protect against
ultraviolet or infrared radiation.
• If theinstructions in this manual are not followed, thefunction of thevisors can be
adversely affected.
• The visors do not provide full protection for theface in every situation. Theymust
only be used in theway described in this instruction manual.
• Always wear safety glasses if there is any risk of small particles passing through
themesh visor and injuring youreyes.
• The visor should be used for theentire duration of thework assignment.
Youshould stop work immediately if you feel dizzy, otherwise unwell or if thevisor
has been damaged in anyway.
