Safety and usage
Helmet
• Inspect thehelmet before eachuse. Replace any damaged or worn parts before using
thehelmet. Thehelmet must be replaced if it has been subjected to heavy impacts or
been pierced. Thehelmet should be discarded if there is any doubt as to its integrity.
• When replacing damaged parts, only use original parts which have been approved
by themanufacturer and make sure that thereplacement parts have thesame
safety ratings as theparts they replace.
• The helmet and its attachments must only be used as protection from thedangers
and threats described in this instruction manual.
• The helmet and its attachments must not be modified in anyway.
• The helmet must only be used, stored and maintained in themanner described in
this instruction manual.
• The helmet and its attachments will not protect thewearer from splashes of molten
metal or hot solids.
• The helmet offers protection against short-term contact with voltages up to 1000 VAC.
• Make sure that themaximum voltage to which thehelmet is at risk of being
exposed to corresponds to thelevel of protection that thehelmet can provide.
• The helmet must not be used in conditions that in any way risk reducing its
insulating properties.
• The helmet must not be used as thesole item of electrically insulated personal
protection equipment. Makesure that other items of electrically insulating safety
equipment are used and that thelevel of protection corresponds to therisk level
required for thetask. Avoidcontact with powerlines.
• The helmet can be adversely affected and its protective properties impaired by
external influences such as incorrect usage, incorrect cleaning and ageing.

• If used correctly and looked after properly, this helmet can serve you for manyyears.
However, for safety reasons, it is recommended that thehelmet be replaced after
2or 3years.
• If thehelmet is soiled by contaminants such as oil and paint, it should be cleaned
in thecorrect manner before it is usedagain.
Ear defenders
• Put theear defenders on before exposing yourself to high levels of noise and keep
them on for theentire time that you are exposed to thenoise.
• Do not expose theear defenders to corrosive chemicals. Doingso could impair
their ability to suppress harmful noises.
• The ear defenders and especially thecushions can age, which can reduce their
sound insulation properties. Checktheear defenders regularly. Thecushions
should be intact, thecups free from cracks and theheadband should be flexible.
Ifdamaged in any way, theear defenders should be replaced. Eardefenders
should be replaced every 2–3 years or sooner if they are fatigued.
• If more than one person uses thesame pair of ear defenders and some form of
hygienic cover is used on theearcups, this can negatively affect thenoise attenuation.
• Failure to follow theinstructions in this manual could seriously reduce thenoise
attenuation capabilities of ear defenders.
• If theear defenders are not worn correctly, not worn continuously or not checked
regularly, their noise attenuation capability could be adversely affected.
• The ear defenders contain metal parts which can increase therisk of electric shocks.
• The ear defenders are size “medium/large”, and are designed to fit themajority of adults.
• The ear defenders must only be used and maintained in themanner described in
this instruction manual.
Visor
• Bear in mind that thevisor does not afford thesame level of protection as
approved safety glasses.
• The visor will shield thewearer’s face from light, solid objects, but is not unbreakable.
• Always make sure that you have theproper protection for your working conditions.
Ifin doubt, ask your supervisor or check therelevant EU standards.
• A scratched or otherwise damaged visor might provide lower visibility and reduced
protection and should be replaced immediately.
• The plastic visor does not function as alight filter. Itdoes not protect thewearer
from splashes of molten metal, other hot solids or electric arcing. Themesh
visor does not protect thewearer from liquids. Thevisors do not protect against
ultraviolet or infrared radiation.
• If theinstructions in this manual are not followed, thefunction of thevisors can be
adversely affected.
• The visors do not provide full protection for theface in every situation. Theymust
only be used in theway described in this instruction manual.
• Always wear safety glasses if there is any risk of small particles passing through
themesh visor and injuring youreyes.
• The visor should be used for theentire duration of thework assignment.
Youshould stop work immediately if you feel dizzy, otherwise unwell or if thevisor
has been damaged in anyway.

Ear defenders
1. Place thehelmet on your head with theear defenders extended.
2. Press theear cushions against your head and make sure that they fit securely.
3. Make sure that thesuspension cradle headband does not prevent theear
cushions from forming atight seal around yourears.
4. The ear defenders can be removed from thehelmet by carefully prying
thefastening clip off thehelmet using ascrewdriver or suitabletool.
