placetheForward/ReversehandleorswitchintheNEUTRALposition,turnthekeyswitchtotheOFF
position,andremovethekey.Chockthewheelswhenservicingthevehicle.
•Improperuseofthevehicleorfailuretoproperlymaintainitcouldresultindecreasedvehicle
performance,severepersonalinjury,ordeath.
•Anymodicationorchangetothevehiclethataffectstheelectricalsystem,stabilityorhandling
ofthevehicle,orincreasesmaximumvehiclespeedbeyondfactoryspecications,couldresultin
severepersonalinjuryordeath.
•Checkthevehicleforproperlocationofallvehiclesafetyandoperationdecalsandmakesuretheyare

•Onlytrainedtechniciansshouldserviceorrepairthevehicleorbatterycharger.Anyonedoingeven
simplerepairsorserviceshouldhaveknowledgeandexperienceinelectricalandmechanicalrepair.
Theappropriateinstructionsmustbeusedwhenperformingmaintenance,service,oraccessory
installation.
•Wearsafetyglassesorapprovedeyeprotectionwhenservicingthevehicleorbatterycharger.Weara
fullfaceshieldandrubbergloveswhenworkingonornearbatteries.
•Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelrysuchasrings,watches,chains,etc.,whenservicingthe
vehicleorbatterycharger.
•Useinsulatedtoolswhenworkingnearbatteriesorelectricalconnections.Useextremecautionto
avoidshortingofcomponentsorwiring.
Electricvehiclesonly:
•PlaceTow/RunswitchintheTOWpositionbeforedisconnectingorconnectingthebatteries.Failureto
heedthiswarningcouldresultinabatteryexplosionorseverepersonalinjury.
•Toavoidunintentionallystartinganelectricvehicle,disconnectthebatteriesanddischargethe
