Introduction
VEDO5TPR / VEDO5TPRW is a keypad with 5” touchscreen that is compatible with all sizes of Vedo control
panels.
Thanks to its many functions, it can be used to arm and disarm the system, check the status of the system and
its areas and zones, and to view the users associated with the control panel and its telephone contacts list.
The event log section can also be used to view the event and alarm logs.

Screen: code entry
To carry out procedures, you must log in with a user code and/or an RFID key. When the code is required, the
following screen will appear:
Enter the code (6 digits) and then press to confirm, to cancel.
OR:
hold the key next to the scanning zone to enter the code and perform authentication.
IMPORTANT: en combinación con un nuevo panel de control aún en fase de programación, solo el usuario 1
está activo con el código "111111".
IMPORTANT: if the screen is not touched for one minute, it will switch off and enter energy saving mode.

Alerts
Buzzer
The buzzer integrated into the VEDO5TPR / VEDO5TPRW beeps when any valid key is pressed. Furthermore,
depending on the options selected during the programming stage, the buzzer can signal:

*The symbol "•” represents a short beep, the symbol “—” represents a long beep. The distance between the
“•” symbols represents the time frequency of the beeps. The size of the symbols represents the relative volume
of the beeps “•·”
Key to indicator LEDs
VEDO5TPR / VEDO5TPRW has a series of three LEDs in different colours on the front panel, which function as
follows:

Main screen
To access the main screen, simply touch the screen if it is off, or use the relevant icons if you are already
accessing the menus.
The main screen appears as shown in the figure,
where the areas present in the control panel are
indicated. You can click on the description of
each area, or tap the centre of the circle to arm or
disarm the system (after entering the user code).
The key to colours (shown in the table below)
indicates the status of each zone.
You can also use the arrow pointing right to
navigate to the second page listing the quick
commands.
IMPORTANT: the screen will switch off after 30 seconds of inactivity (1 minute for the password entry screen)
and energy saving mode will be activated.

The “System status” icon changes colour depending on the status of the system.

Moreover, in the event of faults and/or anomalies on the screen, the cause will also be shown. The image
below is an example of a device fault:

Alarm or tampering alert screen
In the event of alarms or sabotage, when the system is armed, a screen with a red background will appear
indicating the event. In this example, with the system armed, a “Burglary” type alarm is occurring.
The information will then remain available for reference within the “Event log” in the menu.
Quick commands from the home screen
The quick commands screen is easy to reach by pressing the arrow in the bottom right-hand corner of the
home screen.
The list of possible scenarios is shown on the left. On the right, the following quick commands appear by
default (*):
-Stop alarm
-Reset alarm
-Enable installer
*Refer to the “Quick Commands” section for further information regarding the customisation of icons available
on the home screen
Arming
If the system is unarmed, a full arming of all areas can be carried out by tapping the centre of the circle on the
main screen.
Conversely, if a specific area needs to be armed, you can click on its description or the corresponding part of
the circle.
If activated, the system can still be armed by means of a specific scenario.
Disarming
If the system is armed, a full disarming of all areas can be carried out by tapping the centre of the circle on the
main screen.
Conversely, if a specific area needs to be disarmed, you can click on its description or the corresponding part
of the circle.
If activated, the system can still be disarmed by means of a specific scenario.

Arming with zones open
If a zone is open during arming, and is not delayed and not available for exclusion, after the system analysis
screen, the following screen will appear:
If you press “Forcing” the system will be armed but the presence of an inhibited zone will be indicated by
the LED flashing (inhibited status will remain until the next system disarming). Press “Cancel” to cancel the
operation.
On the other hand, if the open zone has previously been set as not available for exclusion (action performed
using Safe Manager software), the following screen will appear:

If a zone is excluded during arming (and set as not available for exclusion), after the system analysis screen,
the following screen will appear, indicating how the system can be armed:

Arming with zones isolated
If a zone is isolated during arming, after the system analysis screen has been shown the following screen will
appear. It can be used to activate the zone, cancel the procedure, or continue to maintain isolation status
(forcing), as shown below:
Arming while faults are present
If a fault is present during arming, after the system analysis screen has been shown the following screen will
appear, indicating the fault and the option of forcing it (inhibiting it) to arm the system.
On the other hand, you do not possess the necessary authorisation for system arming (forced arming level 2),
the following screen will appear.
IMPORTANT: for information regarding these authorisations please contact your installer.
Arming while tampering is present
If a tampering event is present during arming, the system will behave in the same way as when a fault is
present (alarm alert or tampering present screen on page 6). If you attempt to confirm the arming without
permission, the “Act. locked” screen will appear.
Using the RFID key
With the RFID key you can:
Carry out a full system Arming / Disarming procedure by passing the key near the RFID sensor or additional
actions such as reset alarms, access the settings menu...
Full arming/disarming using the key is not possible during the device update procedure, the key
programming procedure or within the password entry screens.

»Scanning the key will be followed by the “System analysis” screen, then an “Arming executed” or
“Disarming executed” screen depending on the system status.
»If faults, open zones or tampering events are present during arming, the procedures described in the
paragraphs above will apply.
»If the key is not memorised in the system, the following screen will appear:
System options
The system options can be accessed from the homepage screen by clicking the icon in the top left corner.
Once the user code has been entered, the menu with its various options will be shown:
The system options menu includes the following entries:
• Zone status
• Users
• Event log
• Telephone contacts list
• Area status
• Output commands
• Quick commands
• App launch
• Alarm options
• Emulated keypad
The icon allowing access to the VEDO5TPR / VEDO5TPRW user manual through the scanning of a QR
code is also present.

Zone status
This option is used to view and change zone status. Each zone is identified by a different colour according to
its status.
Press “ALL” to filter by status type.
IMPORTANT: zones in alarm and tamper condition are included in the open zones.
Users
This menu consists of a list of users present on the control panel (or previously registered using the Safe
Manager software).
The user code can be deleted by clicking on the green square and confirming.
(N.B. there must always be at least one user on the control panel)
Click the icon to change and/or update an existing user code. This option requires a 6-digit user code
which should be entered as shown on the screen below.

Event log
This option can be used to view the events stored in the Log. There are two event groups in the Event Log:
• Event log: to view all events
• Alarm log: to view alarm events only
Both have direction arrows for scrolling.
The date and time of the event stored in the memory will appear next to the arrows. Meanwhile, alongside the
screen a key will appear, for showing various events in the form of a list.
Alarm events are visible (within the alarms memory) only for the current activation cycle. In other
words, the alarms memory will be cleared at the next system activation (the events will only be
visible in the events memory)
Telephone contacts list
This option can be used to edit the list of contacts stored on the control panel.
IMPORTANT: after editing the contacts list parameters the
“action executed” and “configuration update in progress” screens will be displayed.
Area status
This menu option is used to customise each area individually by arming or disarming it.
The screen shows the 8 available areas, with corresponding buttons coloured according to the current status
of the area in question.
Text inside the button indicates the type of activation (total. partial P1, partial P2, partial P1 + P2).

To arm or disarm (or partialise) an area, you will need to press the corresponding key.
1. Total area arming button
2. Partial area arming button (only available if the area belongs to a zone with Partial1/Partial2 attribute)
3. Area disarming button
After pressing the arming/disarming buttons, if the action was executed, the “Action executed” screen will
appear.
Output commands
This option can be used to work on the status of the system outputs.
Press one of the outputs configured previously on the control panel to change its status.
After pressing it, the following screen appears:
The buttons have the following meanings:
• Activate: to activate the output
• Deactivate: to deactivate the output
• Toggle: to change the status, if active it will be deactivated and vice-versa
After pressing the button corresponding to the action, command execution is confirmed by the “Action
executed” screen.

IMPORTANT: “Deactivate” and “Toggle” commands will only take effect if the output has been configured as
bi-stable by the installer.
Quick commands
This option is used to carry out a quick command (or alarm) from those listed and to select which of them to
show on the “main screen”, up to a maximum of 3 elements (by default “Stop alarm”, “Reset alarm”, “Enable
installer”).
The quick commands and corresponding buttons to add them are shown in the image below.
Click a line to carry out the corresponding command, or press the “+” button to activate or deactivate
presence of the quick command on the main screen. If the button is green, the command will be shown on the
main screen.
The “Action Executed” screen will appear to confirm activation of the command.
Buttons for selecting quick commands on the main screen
The table below shows the list of quick commands available:

COMMAND
Event 1 key: activates the event programmed by the installer.
Event 2 key: activates the event programmed by the installer.
Delay: this command allows you to delay an automatic activation by n hours,
where n is programmable, for the purpose of allowing work to continue beyond
the envisaged activation time.
Stop alarms: stops the alarms in progress, regardless of whether the events
that triggered them are still active. Does not stop alarms with the attribute
Silent.
Reset alarms: resets the control panel conditions and alarms in progress, but
not the events that triggered the alarms which, if still active, will trigger a new
alarm cycle.
Reset phone calls: blocks all phone calls, on landline and GSM network. Also
blocks any messages envisaged but not sent (SMS, email).
Reset control panel: restores the panel to factory default settings (deleting all
configurations).
Assistance: allows you to send a request for assistance to one or more recipi-
ents, by means of a phone call.
Enable installer: enables access to the programming menu via the installer
code. Has the same eect as authorising the installer code from the keypad via
the user menu.
App launch
This menu can be used to add new accounts (meaning Comelit App user accounts) by generating OTP (One
Time Password) codes which remain valid for 10 minutes and should also be shown in the Comelit App when a
new intruder protection device is added. In the image below, when you click on any account, a new activation
code generation request is sent; after a few seconds it will be shown on the line corresponding to the selected
account.

In the event of unforeseen code generation problems, the following screen will appear:
Alarm options
Press the Alarm Options button to access another menu containing the following options:
• Enable installer
• Register key
• Delete key
• Timer
• Auto activation
• Configuration
IMPORTANT: for all parameters edited using the “Alarm Options” menu,successful editing is confirmed by
the “action executed” and “configuration update in progress” screens.
Enable installer
This flag is used to enable or disable installer access to the control panel.
Register key
This option can be used to memorise a new RFID key. When entering this menu option, the following screen
will be displayed:

1. Next, pass the key near the sensing area on the right-hand side of the device; the following screen will then
appear:
2. Select the user to be associated with the key; the key description entry screen will then appear.
The screen is the same as the one used for the phone book, to edit the telephone number description.
Delete key
This option can be used to delete an RFID key memorised previously.

3. Select the key you wish to delete from the list.
4. After selecting the key you will be asked to confirm deletion.
Timer
This option can be used to select which timers are enabled for timed activation.
The individual options can be disabled by pressing the button if active, or enabled by pressing the  button
if inactive.
Auto activation
This option can be used to select which areas are enabled for auto activation (timed activation).
The individual options can be disabled by pressing the button if active, or enabled by pressing the  button
if inactive.

Configuration
This option includes a ceratin number of submenus:
Configuration menu
The options included in the configuration menu are:
• Device ID
• Device password
• User code
• Bus RS-485 speed
• Backlight Level
• Lock screen
• Reset Configuration
• Information
• Manufacturing Test
Device ID
Menu for assigning a unique ID to each VEDO5TPR / VEDO5TPRW device present
(proceed using the progressive number order on the basis of the devices present).
Device Password
This option can be used to change the device password for the product (single digit with a value between
0 and 9: default value = 0) to protect it in the event of association with other VEDO devices. The editing
procedure is the same as the one used for the ID of the device on the RS-485 bus.
User Code
This entry can be used to store an optional user code (perhaps a code created specifically for this type
of device) for use during auto-configuration of parameters. This code allows the device to read several
parameters at startup, so that they have already been acquired the first time a user is authenticated and no
time is wasted waiting for the process to complete.

Bus RS-485 speed
This option can be used to change the VEDO5TPR / VEDO5TPRW RS-485 BUS speed.
Backlight Level
This menu can be used to set the backlighting level for the device, as shown in the figure below.
Lock screen
This option can be used to lock the touch screen for 60 seconds.
