Manufacturer’s Reference
The equipment has been approved to european law 98/482/EC for pan-European single terminal connec-
tion to the Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN).
However, due to differences between the individual PSTNs provided in different countries, the approval
does not, of itself, give unconditional assurance of successful operation on every PSTN network termina-
tion point.
In the event of problems, you should contact your equipment supplier in the first instance.
This equipment fulfils the requirements of the EU standard 89/336/EEC
(EN 55022/EN 55024) and 98/482/EEC (CTR 21)
Therefore this equipment is CE-labelled.
Please keep this description in safe custody !
Installation Reference for Germany:
The interface G3-TEL/G8-TEL may be connected to an analogue telephone connection only as single dial-
ling equipment. Use the F-coded TAE-plug.
Attention:
Mounting and installation of the Intercom Servers and of the equipment
may be carried out by authorised service personnel only.
Cards may be exchanged only with voltage switched off.
Before exchanging of cards, ESD precautions must be observed.

Planning Information
The digital telephone interfaces G3-TEL (for GE 300) and G8-TEL (for GE 800) can be used for the fol-
lowing functions:

The auto dialler mode is used for transfer of call requests or input messages (central control calls)
into the public telephone net.
The telephone numbers to be dialled can be configured as desired.
As information for the calling station and for the called telephone, different voice messages can
be switched on.
It is also possible to dial from any telephone into the Intercom Server; Intercom functions can be
carried out with the DTMF keyboard of the telephone.
After the number of the telephone interface has been dialled, any desired telephone number in
the telephone network can be called
For any telephone in the telephone network it is possible, to dial into the Intercom Server by dial-
ling the call number of the telephone interface; Intercom functions can be carried out with the
DTMF keyboard of the telephone.

Speech Control
A conversation between a telephone and an Intercom station can be held in duplex, full duplex (stan-
dard) or simplex.
Operation Simplex at Telephone
Pressing the button “*” toggles talk/listen modes
(press * = talk, press * a 2nd time = listen)
If the button “*” on the telephone is not pressed a 2nd time, the Intercom station will be switched
through after a configurable time.
Indication of Telephone Number in Display
The telephone number dialled (in ”PABX Mode”) is shown in the display.
A cursor indicates if dialling has been completed.

8 seconds after the last entry the cursor disappears and after dialling in the Intercom Server is pos-
sible (e.g. conference).

Standard Calling Numbers
The standard calling number of the telephone interface, which is used for calling from an Intercom
station or for configuration of certain functions, depends on the slot, into which the card is inserted.
This calling number can be changed by configuration in CCT 800 – at Subscriber – Naming.

Auto Dialler Mode
A call from an Intercom station or an input message is transferred to a pre-defined telephone number.
The call is transferred to another telephone number after a configurable time if the call is not answered
(i.e. taken over with a password) by this telephone, or immediately if the telephone is busy.
The order, in which the telephone numbers shall be dialled, is defined in “Dialling sequences“.
Telephone Numbers, Dialling Sequences
Up to 8 telephone numbers can be defined, which will be dialled in case of a call from e.g. a door
station, emergency call station etc.
For each telephone number up to 24 digits are possible.
These telephone numbers can be arranged in up to 8 different dialling sequences.
The dialling sequences set the order, in which the telephone numbers will be dialled.
The dialling sequences are selected with inputs, to which e.g. a time switch is connected.
Each dialling sequence can contain up to 15 telephone numbers; each number can be dialled se-
veral times (i.e. for a number it is possible to appear in one dialling sequence several times).

In the daytime, dialling sequence 1 is selected by a time switch.
When a call is initiated, the 1st telephone number of dialling sequence 1 is dialled (“Guard 1“).
If the call is not answered within a configurable time or if the number is busy, the next telephone
number of dialling sequence 1 is dialled, and so forth until the end of the dialling sequence
(“Guard 2“– “Guard 1“ – “Guard 2“...).
At a certain point of time (nighttime), dialling sequence 2 is selected by the time switch.
The order of the calls now is: 3x “Mobile Phone 1“, then 3 x “Mobile Phone 2“.
Note:
In case, the call is not taken over by the last telephone number, it is possible to restart the dialling se-
quence see ”Restart of Dialling Sequence” on page 12.

Outgoing Call from Intercom System
Initiate call
For an outgoing call in the auto dialler mode, 2 different possibilities are available:
Call via dialling Interface
Call Requests/Input Messages
As soon as the call is set up, the 1st number in the currently selected dialling sequence is dialled.
Switch-on of Speech Messages
As information for the calling Intercom station and for the telephone different speech messages are
switched on, after initiation of a call:

For the telephone interface the “control desk function” is configured:
A call request is initiated at the Intercom station
An input message is initiated via an input
Note:
At ”Call Procedures – Examples” on page 13 you will find a comparison between a call built up by dial-
ling the interface call number and a call request.
Calm down message
The calling Intercom station receives this message (e.g. “you will be immediately connected to an
emergency station“) as soon as the call is initiated.
The message is repeated until the call is taken over by the telephone.
Location message
The telephone receives the location message after lifting the receiver as information where (i.e.
from which telephone interface) the call comes from. This message should be recorded indivi-
dually (e.g.: “Parking North“).
Call request message
If the initiated call is a call request, the telephone receives the call request message as information
on how many calls are waiting (e.g. “Calls: one, Emergency calls: three“).
Individual message (optional)
For additional information, individual messages for the telephone can be defined separately for
each call mode (conversation, call or emergency call – e.g. “Call from station one–zero–five”).

Restart of Dialling Sequence
In case, the call is taken over by none of the configured telephone numbers of the respective dialling
sequence, 2 possibilities for restarting the sequence are available:
Reissue of Call by pressing Call Button
If a call request is not answered, then this call remains at the station and the control desk; but the tele-
phone interface is in idle mode.
By pressing the respective call button (or the input contact) once again, the dialling sequence can be
started again.
Configuration of Restart of the Dialling Sequence
Via configuration in CCT 800 it is possible, to avoid that an initiated call is not answered.
Therefore “9” has to be entered as last number of the respective dialling sequence see page 15
→thus the dialling sequence will be started again and so forth until the call is taken over.
Take over of call with the defined 1- to 4-digit password (standard #).
Repeated speech messages (”Individual Messages”) can be interrupted with “*”, but each mes-
sage has to be listened to at least once.
Note:
If no password is defined for the take over of the call, an (optional) button has to be pressed anyhow to
be able to answer the call.
Take over of call with the defined 1- to 4-digit password (standard #) + pressing button “#”.
Repeated ”Individual Messages”after taking over the call request / input message with “#”, can
be interrupted with “*”, but each message has to be listened to at least once.
It can be defined if the telephone receives the “Dial tone“ from the Intercom Server, e.g. before
taking over a call request with “#”.
The conversation is cancelled at the telephone with “#” or at the Intercom station with X.
After the conversation has been cancelled (by means of “#” or X), the connection to the Intercom
system stays upright for a configurable time. During this time, a new conversation can be built up
or other functions can be carried out in the Intercom Server.
If the telephone only hangs up and does not press “#”, the conversation is automatically cancelled
after about 6 seconds.

The telephone interface can be called from any telephone in the telephone net.
After the number has been dialled, the telephone receives the “Location message“.
After the location message the call has to be accepted with the defined 1- to 4-digit code (in stand-
ard “#”). Afterwards Intercom functions can be carried out, e.g. calling an Intercom station.
If ”Individual Messages”are configured (e.g. “Conversation to one–zero–two”), then these mes-
sages are switched on e.g. after start of a conversation or conversation end, at the telephone.
The conversation is cancelled at the telephone with “#” or at the Intercom station with X.
After the conversation has been cancelled (by means of “#” or X), the connection to the Intercom
system stays upright for a configurable time. During this time, a new conversation can be built up
or other functions can be carried out in the Intercom Server.
If the telephone only hangs up and does not press “#”, the conversation is automatically cancelled
after about 6 seconds.

At Mode select the radio button Auto Dialler Mode.
At Password outgoing the 1- to 4-digit code is entered, with which the call shall be taken over at
the telephone.
At Password incoming the 1- to 4-digit code is entered, which shall be entered at the telephone
when calling to an Intercom subscriber (or selection of “Same as outgoing”).
At Waiting Time the time is entered, after which the next telephone number of the sequence is
dialled (if the call is not accepted).
At Dial tone telephone the dial tone at the telephone can be selected (“British 440Hz“ or “Tele-
phone 500Hz“) or deactivated (“None)“.
At Hang up after the time is entered, after which the connection between telephone interface and
telephone net is cancelled, after cancelling the respective conversation (with “#” or X).
At Max. time simplex the time can be defined, after which a simplex conversation switches back if
the button “*” is not pressed at the telephone a 2nd time (* = talk, * another time = listen). The
speech control is switched back to the mode selected at “Intercom Server” – “Switch off times“, in
the combo-box “Release T-key“.
DTMF Times
In the field DTMF decoding time [ms], the DTMF decoding time can be modified in milliseconds
(default: 60 ms)
In the field DTMF tone period [ms], the tone duration of the DTMF tone can be modified in milli-
seconds (default: 80 ms)
In the field DTMF gap period [ms], the pause between the DTMF tones can be modified in milli-
seconds (default: 70 ms).
Telephone Numbers, Dialling Sequences
In the column Telephone numbers up to 8 different telephone numbers can be entered (max.
24-digit).
Following characters are available: 0 – 9, * and #
At Area code (dial prefix) a number (max. 8 digits) to be automatically pre-dialled can be defined,
e.g. an exchange number for dialling out, or for selecting a certain provider.
Following characters are available: 0 to 9, *, # or P for 1 second pause
In the column Sequences up to 8 different dialling sequences can be entered, with which the order
of the up to 8 entered telephones numbers are defined.
Max. 15 digits per dialling sequence, e.g. 112211.
Entries below “10” = Minutes (e.g. an entry of “5” is detected as “5 minutes”)
Entries above “10” = Seconds (e.g. an entry of “12” is detected as “12 seconds”)
Note:
By means of entry of number “9” at the end of the dialling sequence, the respective call is switched to
the 1st telephone number of the sequence again, if the initiated call is not answered by the last tele-
phone number of the sequence (e.g. “123412349” see above).
Attention:
In case of a call via dialling the interface call number, the dialling sequence is stopped after the
“Switch off time simplex“ (3 minutes in standard – G3-TEL / G8-TEL switches to simplex when playing
the calm down message).
To avoid the disconnection, the field “Auto. Disconnection” (at “Subscriber” – “Entitlements“ – tab
“Alarm, Common”) must be deactivated for the telephone interface.

Activation Dialling Sequence
The different dialling sequences are activated by inputs, to which e.g. a time switch can be connected.
For the inputs, dialling simulation has to be configured with the following code:
XX9T99 and the number of the dialling sequence,
e.g. XX9T992 →for activation of dialling sequence 2
Select Inputs – Dial via Input – Input initiates dialling:
Right click on the desired input and select the function Add input initiates dialling.
Select the input in the tree structure in the folder Input initiates dialling.
In the combo-boxes Subscriber 1 select the telephone interface, for which the switch-over of the
dialling sequence shall be carried out.
At Initiates dialling enter the respective code in the combo-box Dial / Key next to the desired input
level (e.g. “Short”).
In the example above (screenshot) one input triggers the switch-over of the dialling sequences
1 and 2 for the telephone interface with call no. “113”:
Level input: Break →dialling sequence 1 is active
Level input: Short →dialling sequence 2 is active
Group Call Types
The 16 call types of the Intercom Server can be grouped in 4 different call types – these 4 call types are
also used for ”Individual Messages”.
Note:
The prefix “XX“ cancels an existing conversation (built up by dialling the interface call number) before
switching the dialling sequence, otherwise the sequence would not be changed.
“XX” has no effect on an existing call request, i.e. the call remains.
Attention:
Please make sure, that two inputs can not dial a code at the same time. This could happen e.g. if codes
for “short“ and for “open“ are configured for several inputs. If one input closes and the other opens at
the same time, it can not be guaranteed, if the “open“- code or the “short“- code is dialled first – always
the code dialled last becomes effective.
This feature is available only, if the telephone interface is configured as “central control desk” (at
“Subscriber” – “Control Desks”, see current version of the manual “PRO 800”)!

Each of the following combo-boxes represents one of the 16 call types of the Intercom Server:
In the 16 combo-boxes (for the call types 1 – 15), the following entries can be selected:
Call 1 (Normal call)
→The call type will be transferred via the telephone interface as “Call 1 (Normal call)”
Call 2 (Emergency call)
→The call type will be transferred via the telephone interface as “Call 2 (Emergency call)”
Active 1
→The call type will be transferred via the telephone interface as “Active 1”
Active 2
→The call type will be transferred via the telephone interface as “Active 2”
Standard
→The call type will be grouped to none of the above listed call types
In the example above (screenshot),
the call types 2 and 8 (of the Intercom Server) →are grouped to “Call 2 (Emergency call)”
the call types 6, 7, 11, 14 and 15 (of the Intercom Server) →are grouped to “Active 2”
This also means, if Individual Messages are configured for the call types “Call 2 (Emergency
call)” and “Active 2”, then individual messages will be put out for the call types 2, 8 resp. 6, 7, 11, 14,
15 (of the Intercom Server) – see page 20.
Initiate Call

At the Intercom station, the call number of the telephone interface can be entered via the keypad of
the station e.g. by direct dialling (configuration at “Subscriber” – “Direct Dialling”).
Call Request / Input Message
The telephone interface has to be configured as “central control desk” (at “Subscriber” – “Control
Desks”).
For the calling station, a “call request” has to be configured to the telephone interface (at “Subscri-
ber” – “Call Request”).
For a calling input, an “input message” has to be configured to the telephone interface (at “Inputs”–
“Input message”).
If a calm down message shall be put out at the calling station after initiation of a call request, then
an appropriate configuration in CCT 800 is required see page 19

Attention:
If the indication of input messages via buzzer is deactivated, no call is issued to the telephone (tab

Standard Speech Messages
16 system messages (No.0 – No.15) and 7 “individual messages”, in 5 different languages (German,
English, French, Polish, Dutch) are available as WAV files (at delivery ex works).
System Messages No.0 – No.13
The system messages No. 0 – No.13 are required for generating call request messages (e.g. “Calls:
one, Emergency calls: three”) or Call no. announcement for Individual Messages (see page 20).
Note:
For a G3-TEL / G8-TEL, speech messages are combined in so called “Playlists”, which are assembled by
the “PreAudio Client” of the configuration software CCT 800 see ”Pre-Recorded Audio for Speech Sto-
rage” on page 21.

Configuration CCT 800
For the telephone interface “Feed-in of Radio Conference” has to be configured at Subscriber –
Feed-in – Radio conference (individual channel), otherwise the Calm down message will not be
switched on.
Note:
These messages can be changed, resp. the location message shall be changed in content (i.e. shall
be recorded individually, e.g. “Parking East”).
Note:
It is also possible, to load more “individual messages” (than just No.20 – No.26) into the speech storage
of the telephone interface; for maximum speech storage capacity see page 6.

Note:
Only the 1st calling station receives the calm down message from the speech storage of the tele-
phone interface!
But it is possible to feed-in a separate calm down message, independently from the speech storage
of the telephone interface, over an subscriber for which “Feed-in of radio conference” is configured
(in this case, it is not required to configure “Feed-in of radio conference” for the telephone interface).
For the calling stations, this channel (e.g. 6T1 - Channel 1) has to be configured as “calm down signal”
– thus, each calling station receives the calm down message.

Calm down message for internal call requests
For internal call requests, i.e. for call requests to an Intercom central control desk it is possible, to use
the calm down message of the speech storage of the G3-TEL / G8-TEL, for a calling station.
Attention:
For the respective call request, the G3-TEL / G8-TEL has to be configured as additional “central control
desk” (for the telephone interface, “feed-in of radio conference” has to be configured as described
above).
If this feature is used for internal call requests, then all these calls requests will also be transferred
over the telephone interface – to avoid this, it is possible to configure a switch-over of the dialling se-
quence (see page 16).

Individual Messages
For the several call types (conversation, call, emergency call) and for each station (to/from which a call
is built up) it is possible to define, whether additional information shall be put out.
Configuration CCT 800
At Interfaces –Telephone –TEL – Folder telephone interface – Telephone functions select the
button Individual messages.
In the appearing dialogue select via right click on the blank area, the entry Add message for each
desired individual message.
Call number: Enter the call number of the Intercom station, to/from which the call is initiated. If the
message shall be valid for all Intercom stations, enter “*”.
Call Type: Select the event e.g. “Conversation started” or the type of the respective call e.g. “Call 1
(Normal call)”.
Call no. announcement activated: If this checkbox is active, the call number of the calling Inter-
com station is announced after the respective message (in a way like “two-one-five“).
Retries defines, if the message is played once, twice or if it is permanently repeated until “*” is
pressed at the telephone or the respective call request is taken over with “#”
Selection of “only 1 time“ , “2 times“ or “until finished“ (for permanent repetition until pressing
telephone button).
Message number: Enter the corresponding no. (resp. ID) of the message to be put out. The mes-
sage numbers of the standard speech messages can be found at ”Standard Speech Messages” on
page 18.
These “individual messages” are put out at the corresponding point of time (e.g. at start up of a
conversation) at the telephone (see also ”Call Procedures – Examples” on page 13).
It is possible to configure “individual messages” for the ”
Auto Dialler Mode”as well as for ”PABX
Mode”.
The messages are composed out of single WAV files, e.g. “Conversation to...” “one” “zero” “five”
(each word under quotation marks is a single WAV file), see ”Standard Speech Messages” on
page 18.
Note:
The announcement of the call no. for hexadecimal numbers is not possible.
I.e. if, e.g. in case of input messages, hexadecimal input numbers are used, then these hexadecimal
digits will not be announced.
