DIGIVOX-2 INTERFACE FOR DIGITAL BROADCASTING
DIGIVOX-2 is a passive, power-independent system that connects a computer to a radio.
It is designed for digital modes that use the sound card as a modem.
Interface features
•allows you to connectany VHF/UHF or KF radio with a PC
•works very well with handheld radios, e.g. Baofeng
•provides full and complete galvanic separation between radio and computer (600V)
•does not require external power supply
•you don't need a serial or USB port. Connection to the computer is only through the audio I/O of the sound
card
•works with most computer programs designed to broadcast digital Packet,PSK31, RTTY, SSTV, FAX, etc.
•works very well with the Winlink Ekspress program (e-mail using radio waves), which allows you to send
messages in the absence of internet using a gateway (e.g. Poznan SR3WLK) or directly (peer -to-peer)

When a sound signa of appropriate amp itude appears on the audio output of the sound card (SP),
the Q1 transistor is opened, causing the DIGIVOX-2 PTT output to short to ground.

Connection:
•"PC AUDIO" slots
"SP" – connect to the headphone/speaker output of the sound card
"MIC" - we connect to the microphone input of the sound card

•"TO RADIO" connectors
"SP" – connect to the radio audio output (speaker or headphone output)
"MIC" – we connect in the microphone input of the radio
"GND" – we connect with the mass of the radio
"PTT" – output for PTT control (open collector)
•Potentiometer
"RX" – adjusting the audio level of the radio
"TX" - adjusting the audio level of the suond card
Recommendations, safety of users:
•Remark! Since the audio signal from the computer should have a minimum level of 0.8Vpp, it is
recommended to set the volume of the speaker on the computer to 100%
•we recommend using cheap external USB sound cards. In older computers, laptopswith built-in internal sound
cards can cause unstable system performance
•read the radio manual carefully before connecting to the interface. In some cases, the PTT connection may
require a resistor
•the interface requires appropriate cables to connect to the radio and sound card. These cables must be made by
yourself
