DIGIVOX-2V2 INTERFACE FOR DIGITAL MODES
DIGIVOX-2V2 is a passive, power-independen sys em ha connec s a compu er o a radio.
I is designed for digi al modes ha use he sound card as a modem.
In erface fea ures:
•allows you o connec any VHF/UHF or KF radio wi h a PC
•works very well wi h handheld radios, e.g. Baofeng
•provides full and comple e galvanic separa ion be ween radio and compu er (600V)
•does no require ex ernal power supply
•you don' need a serial or USB por . Connec ion o he compu er is only hrough he audio I/O
of he sound card
•works wi h mos compu er programs designed o broadcas digi al Packe ,PSK31, RTTY, SSTV,
FAX, e c
•works very well wi h he Winlink Ekspress program (e-mail using radio waves), which allows you o
send messages in he absence of in erne using a ga eway (e.g. Poznan SR3WLK) or direc ly (peer
- o-peer)
•You can buy ready-made DIGICAB-1 cables dedica ed for radios equipped wi h a Kenwood 2-PIN K
ype connec or, which is mos ly used by manufac urers like Baofeng, Any one, Kenwood, Woxun.

When a sound signal of appropria e ampli ude appears on he audio ou pu of he sound card (SP),
he Q1and Q2 ransis ors are opened, causing he DIGIVOX-2V2 PTT ou pu o shor o ground.
The transistors operate in the Sziklai pair configuration, which allows to lower the minimum alue
of the audio signal output from the sound card and impro e the signal-to-noise ratio.

Recommenda ions, safe y of users:
• Remark! I is recommended o se he volume of he speaker on he compu er o 100%
• we recommend using cheap ex ernal USB sound cards. In older compu ers, lap opswi h buil -in
in ernal sound cards can cause uns able sys em performance
• read he radio manual carefully before connec ing o he in erface. In some cases, he PTT
connec ion may require a resis or
• he in erface requires appropria e cables o connec o he radio and sound card. These cables
mus be made by yourself

Connec or pins:
To s ar he radio's PTT from he ou side, he “S” masses of bo h pins should be shor ed. No all radios
work properly in open collec or configura ion eg AnyTone AT-D878UV. You can hen use he op ional
connec ion shown in he figure below: a capaci or wi h a value of several microfarads and a resis or whose
value can be selec ed. This ensures compa ibili y wi h more radios.
The values of he elemen s were selec ed experimen ally (R = 150Ω and C = 2.2uF), which ensured proper
coopera ion wi h:
Baofeng UV-5R, UV-82
AnyTone AT-D878UV
The above sys em was used in ready-made „DIGICAB-1” cables ( he resis or and capaci or are moun ed
inside he 3.5mm Jack plug).
