Introduction
DB3 is an all-in-one door lock and override module.
Warning!
This module can only be flashed and configured using DirectLink at www.directechs.com or using the Directechs
Mobile application for smartphones. Refer to <ConnectImportant> for more information.
Pre-installation and application warnings
Firmware notes: This section highlights important information for this specific firmware and will assist in
pricing accordingly, as well as bringing awareness to any operational or vehicle limitations.
T-Harness

No takeover feature is available on Push-to-Start vehicles. The vehicle will shut down as soon as a door is opened.
To remote start the engine, the hood, hatch, and all doors MUST be closed.
Keyless and Smart Key will remain functional during remote start.
The optional Plug & Play TLTH1/THTOD1 T-Harness is sold separately.
The OBDII Diagnostic Connector features will remain the same even when the T-Harness is installed.
All connectors are displayed from the wire side (unless specified otherwise).
Refer to the "Vehicle connections" following the installation diagram.
General notes: This section highlights important information for this specific firmware.
[1] Tach wire is an optional connection required on some remote starters, which do not support a tach signal in D2D
[2] Connection required ONLY if Pit Stop/Idle mode is desired.
[3] Autolights Interrupt ONLY required if vehicles are equipped with Autolights.
Key type
Some Toyota 2010+ models have different encryption types. Please look at your key blade and identify the markings.

OEM remote starter detection
How to know if the vehicle is equipped with an OEM remote starter
1. An “ENGINE STARTER”
sticker should be on the remote.

2. Remote start the OEM remote starter:
Press the remote control’s lock button twice within 2 seconds, then press and hold the lock
button for 3 seconds.
x2 &Press & Hold
for 3 seconds
The parking lights flash after 3 seconds. The engine starts and the parking lights flash
repeatedly for 20 seconds.
If the vehicle is equipped with an add-on Lexus/Toyota OEM remote starter
The factory remote starter must be permanently disconnected before programming the Directed interface as both modules cannot
coexist. See "Locating the OEM Remote Starter" below.

OEM remote starter detection
How to know if the vehicle is equipped with an OEM remote starter

Module programming
Refer to “LED diagnostics and troubleshooting” for more information and for troubleshooting purposes.
Push-to-Start (PTS) vehicles with CAN
1Wait until the LED turns ON solid red.

Press the Push-to-Start (PTS) button twice to turn the ignition ON. The LED flashes red slowly
for afew seconds to indicate the key is in learning mode. It then turns ON solid green for 3
seconds, before shutting OFF.*
* If the LED starts to flash orange, it indicates the vehicle is equipped with a factory remote
starter. Refer to "LED Diagnostics & Troubleshooting" for more information.
3The module is now programmed. Press the PTS button once more to turn the ignition OFF.
You have successfully completed the module programming sequence.
