Introduction
DS3+ is a complete solution for remote start, security (when security features are enabled) and bypass. This guide provides
information on the installation of the module as a digital solution. Please refer to www.directechs.com for more information about
which configuration is best for your application.
Warning! This module can be configured using the web tool located at www.directechs.com. The DS3/DS3+ module is not
equipped with Bluetooth, therefore the blue LED will not flash during module programming or when performing a soft or hard reset.
DS4+ is a complete solution for remote start, security (when security features are enabled), bypass, and features
built in Bluetooth 4.0 allowing you to configure and control your system. This guide provides information on the
installation of the module as a digital solution. Please refer to the DirectLink application or www.directechs.com
for more information about which configuration is best for your application.
Warning! This module is designed to be configured using the DirectLink application for mobile devices,
however it can also be configured using the web tool located at www.directechs.com. To download the DirectLink mobile
application, please visit the Google Play or Apple store.

Firmware notes: This section highlights important information for this specific firmware and will assist in pricing
accordingly, as well as bringing awareness to any operational or vehicle limitations.

This firmware does not support transponder override. One (1) programmed OEM key must be wired into the vehicle to complete the
installation of a remote starter.
The hazards lights will flash if alarm is triggered or if Car Finder is activated. Also, they will flash every 5 seconds during runtime;
however, they are not supported for the diagnostics lights.
A Note Regarding Climate Controls: Audi climate controls are key memory sensitive. This means that the last key used to operate
the vehicle will determine the setting for the climate controls. In order to make changes to environment control settings, the following
procedure is necessary:
1) Remote start the vehicle.
2) Make your climate control adjustments, ensuring NOT to use the AUTO mode on the control panel as this makes the Audi adjust
its HVAC settings based on external factors such as engine temperature.
3) When the adjustments are complete, turn off the vehicle starter, either by remote or footbrake.
To remote start the engine, the hood, the hatch and all doors must be closed.
Unless specified otherwise, all connectors are displayed from the wire side, with the exception of the OBDII diagnostic connector.
It is important to check that the fuses are positioned correctly in the module. Proper fuse positioning is displayed on each wiring
diagram.
Refer to the "Vehicle connections" following the installation diagram.
General notes: This section highlights important information for this specific firmware.
[1] The installation of an aftermarket hood pin is ONLY required on vehicles that are NOT equipped with a factory hood pin or if NOT
supported in Data.
[2] The siren is ONLY required when enabling the security features during module flashing.
[3] For Key Wrap instructions refer to "Immobilizer interface with OEM immobilizer receiver".
[4] The correct brake activation wire will test as 0.6V with the ignition ON and 12V with the brake pedal depressed with ignition ON.
Failure to identify the correct wire will cause permanent damage to the interface.
[5] For Security Only Installations, refer to 'Locating components in the vehicle' for the optional starter disable connection.

When using an external relay, use a 1N4002 diode or larger.
Important: When flashing your module for Security Only, the Ground When Armed (GWA)
function is pre-configured. When flashing your module for Remote Start & Security, you must
manually assign the designated output to Anti Grind (AG) Starter Kill.

Method 1: Key Wrap for Push-to-Start (PTS)

- Make 4-6 loops and place them as close to the front of key port (OEM Immobilizer Receiver) as possible.
- Test and secure mounted loops before reassembling the vehicle.
- Make 4-6 loops and place them around the front of the plastic body of the vehicle’s coded key as shown above.
- When possible use valet key for key wrap: battery must be removed.
