DORO X100 INSTALLATION
LOCATING THE BASE UNIT
It is essential to the overall range and performance that the base unit and handset can
receive and transmit good radio signals.
Place the base unit close to: - a telephone network socket
- a 13 Amp mains socket
The best location is in an upstairs room and central to the area to be covered. If you
experience poor range, try re-siting the base unit .
#Do not locate in: direct sunlight, damp or high humidity locations.
#Do not locate close to: electrical equipment such as TV’s, computers, fridges,
etc., or close to radiators, metal pipes or window frames.
WALL MOUNTING
Use the template supplied to mark the position of three holes on a wall. Drill the holes (check
for hidden pipes, etc). Use the raw plug and screws provided, ensuring approximately 4 mm
remain between the wall and the head of the screw. Connect the bracket to the rear of the base
unit and place the complete assembly above the screws and gently push it down onto the screws.
CHARGING THE HANDSET BATTERIES
From new, the batteries must be charged for 8 hours without interruption.
1. CONNECT the power adaptor to: - the rear of the base unit
- a 13 amp mains power socket
The base unit will beep.
2. REMOVE the battery cover from the bottom of the handset by applying gentle
pressure to the top of the cover and pushing away from the handset. Insert the
batteries (supplied) observing correct polarity. Replace the battery cover. The
display will show: DORO X100 and the battery and range indicators.
3. PLACE the handset onto the base unit (face up or down) and SWITCH mains
power ON. The base unit will beep and the red LED will illuminate.
4. LEAVE for 8 hours. When the handset batteries are fully charged the red
LED on the base unit will flash. If the handset has been placed face up, the battery
symbol will be present on the display when the batteries are fully charged.
5. CONNECT the telephone line to: - the rear of the base unit
- a telephone network socket.

6
HANDSET BATTERY CARE
AFTER INITIAL CHARGING the power adaptor must remain connected to the mains
& base unit and mains power switched on. It is recommended that the handset is left
on charge overnight to ensure maximum in-use time. The batteries should hold their
charge for 60 hours, depending on use.
IF THE PHONE IS NOT TO BE USED for a substantial period of time, i.e. holidays,
disconnect the mains power adaptor, when power is reconnected it will be necessary
to recharge the handset for 8 hours.
TO MAINTAIN OPTIMUM CONDITION, allow the batteries to charge fully every 4
months approximately for 8 hours. The batteries will need replacing if: there are
signs of leakage, the batteries will not hold a charge for more than two hours.
The rechargeable batteries (NiMh) are cadmium-free and should be disposed of in a
responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
Note: When the handset batteries are fully charged, the handset may feel warm.
This is normal.
IMPORTANT!
From new, the batteries (supplied) must be charged for 8 hours without interruption.
You can obtain your replacement batteries from:

quality in the earpiece will de-grade, warning beeps will be heard and the range
indicator will flash. Note: On the fringe of the range the range indicator may be
present on the display, but it is not possible to make or receive calls.

The range stated in this user guide is based upon an area completely free of
obstructions between the handset and the base unit.

is switched off, battery power is conserved, but calls cannot be made or received.
