Important Safety Instrucons
When using any electric appliance, some basic safety precauons should always be followed
to reduce the risk of re, electric shock and/or any injury to people, including the following:
1. Read all instrucons before using the heater.
2. The heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, DO NOT let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
Use the handle when moving the heater. Keep combusble materials, such as furniture,
pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the heater.
3. Use extreme cauon when the heater is used near children, pets or the disabled. NEVER
leave the heater unaended during operaon.
4. Use the heater only in dry environments. The heater is not intended for use in
bathrooms, laundry areas or other indoor areas in close proximity to water. DO NOT use
your heater outdoors. DO NOT use near bathtubs, sinks, swimming pools, or any place
where the heater could come in contact with water.
5. The heater has hot and sparking parts inside. DO NOT use it in areas where gasoline,
paint, or ammable liquids are used or stored.
6. To disconnect the heater, rst turn the heater OFF, then remove the plug from the
outlet.
7. ALWAYS unplug the heater by removing the plug end from the outlet. NEVER unplug it
by pulling on the cord as this can damage the power cord.
8. DO NOT operate the heater with a damaged cord or plug. DO NOT operate the heater
aer it malfuncons or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
9. Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may overheat and result
in re.
10. DO NOT run the cord under carpeng. DO NOT cover the cord with throw rugs, runners,
or similar coverings. Arrange the cord away from trac areas where it cannot be tripped
over.
11. It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch. However a loose t between the AC
outlet (receptacle) and the plug may cause overheang. Contact a qualied electrician
to replace a loose or worn outlet.
12. DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any venlaon or exhaust opening as
this may result in electric shock, re, or damage to the heater.
13. To prevent a possible re, DO NOT block air intakes or exhaust opening in any manner.
DO NOT use on so surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked. ALWAYS
use the heater on a at, level surface.
14. DO NOT operate the heater with safety guards removed.
15. Use the heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the
manufacturer may result in re, electric shock, or injury.
16. The heater draws 12.5 amps during operaon. To prevent overloading a circuit, DO NOT
plug the heater into a circuit that already has other appliances working.
17. The output of the heater may vary and its temperature may become intense enough
to burn exposed skin. Use of the heater is not recommended for people with reduced
sensivity to heat or an inability to react in order to avoid burns.
18. Not intended to be hung.
