General information
Reading and storing the user manual
This user manual accompanies this convection heater. It contains
important information on setup and handling.
Before using the convection heater, read the user manual careful-
ly. This particularly applies to the safety notes. Failure to heed this
user manual may result in severe injury or damage to the convection heater
and in buildings.
Store the user manual for further use. If you pass the convection heater on to
third parties, please be absolutely sure to include this user manual.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the
convection heater or on the packaging.

The convection heater is only designed for heating and ventilating closed, dry
indoor areas. It is only intended for private use and not suitable for commercial
purposes.
Only use the convection heater as described in this user manual. Using it in any
other way is deemed improper and may result in damage to property or even
personal injury. The convection heater is not a children’s toy.
The manufacturer or vendor cannot be held liable for damages incurred
through improper or incorrect use.
Safety notes
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
Improper handling, faulty electrical installation or excessive
line voltage may result in an electric shock.
− Only connect the convection heater if the line voltage of
the socket corresponds to the nameplate specification.
− Only connect the convection heater to an easily accessible
socket so that you can quickly disconnect it from the grid
in the event of a fault.
− The convection heater must not be set up directly under a
wall socket.
− Do not operate the convection heater if it is visibly dam-
aged or if the power cable or power plug is defective.
− If the power cable of the convection heater is damaged,
the manufacturer, its customer service team or a person
with similar qualifications must replace it.
− Do not open the housing; instead, have a qualified profes-
sional perform repairs. Contact a qualified workshop for
this. Liability and warranty claims are waived in the event
of repairs performed by the user, improper connection or
incorrect operation.

− Only parts that comply with the original device data may
be used for repairs. Electrical and mechanical parts, which
are essential for providing protection against sources of
danger, are located in this convection heater.
− Do not immerse the convection heater or the power ca-
ble or plug in water or other liquids. Keep the convection
heater away from dripping water and splash water.
− Never touch the power plug with damp hands.
− Never use the convection heater in the direct vicinity of a
bath tub, shower or swimming pool.
− Set up the convection heater so that the switches and con-
trols are not within the reach of a person in the bath tub,
shower or swimming pool.
− Do not pull the power plug out of the socket by the power
cable; instead, always pull it out by the plug.
− Never use the power cable as a carrying strap.
− Keep the power plug and the power cable away from
open flames and hot surfaces e.g. from the housing when
operating the convection heater.
− Lay the power cable so that it does not pose a tripping
hazard.
− Do not kink the power cable and do not lay it over sharp
edges.
− Only use the convection heater indoors. Do not operate
the convection heater in wet rooms or in the rain.
− Never store the convection heater such that there is a risk
of it falling into a tub or a basin.
− Never reach to retrieve an electrical device if it has fallen in
water. In such a case, immediately disconnect the power
plug.
− Make sure that children do not insert any objects in the
housing of the convection heater.
− Always switch the convection heater off and pull the
power plug out of the socket when you are not using the
convection heater, when you intend to clean it or in the
event of a fault.

− Pull the power plug out of the socket with earthing con-
tact in the event of an incoming storm.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should al-
ways be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and
injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using this heater.
2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let
bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles
when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials,
such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and
curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the front of the heater
and keep them away from the sides and rear.
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by
or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left
operating and unattended.
4. Always unplug heater when not in use.
5. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or
after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or dama-
ged in any manner. Discard heater, or return to authorized
service facility for examination and/or repair.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laund-
ry areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater
where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
8. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with
throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord
under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from
traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.

11. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilati-
on or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock
or fire, or damage the heater.
12.To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a
bed, where openings may become blocked.
13.A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not
use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids
are used or stored.
14.Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other
use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause
fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
15.Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle.
Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap
(outlet/power strip).

Grounding instructions.
This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown
in figure A. An adapter as shown in Figure B is available for
connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot
receptacles. The green grounding lug extending from the
adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a
properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used
if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

WARNING!

− The convection heater may be used by children ages eight
and over as well as persons with impaired physical, sen-
sory or mental capacities or those lacking experience and
knowledge if they are supervised or have been instruct-
ed in how to safely use the convection heater and have
understood the risks associated with operating it. Children
must not play with the convection heater. Cleaning and
user maintenance must not be performed by unsuper-
vised children.
− Keep children under 3 years of age away from the convec-
tion heater and the connection line unless they are under
constant supervision.
− Children between 3 and 8 years of age may only turn the
convection heater on and off if they are supervised or
have been instructed on how to safely use the convection
heater and have understood the resulting risks. The pre-
requisite is that the convection heater is set up or installed
in the position it is normally used in.
− Children between the ages of 3 and 8 must not insert the
plug in the socket, clean the convection heater and/or
perform user maintenance.
− Do not leave the convection heater unattended while in
operation.
− Make sure that children do not play with the packaging
wrapper. They may get caught in it when playing and
suffocate.

WARNING!

The housing of the convection heater becomes very hot during
use and may cause burns during use.
− Do not touch the hot parts of the convection heater with
bare fingers during operation. Always use heat-insulated
gloves or oven mitts to take hold of the convection heater
and its parts.
− Special caution is required when children and other vul-
nerable persons come into contact with the convection
heater. Clearly advise other users of the risks!
− Please keep in mind that the parts of the convection heat-
er may still be very hot and cause burns even after it has
been deactivated. Special caution is required if children
and vulnerable persons are present.
WARNING!
Fire hazard!
Handling the convection heater improperly could cause a fire
in an apartment or other building and also pose a risk of injury
or risk to life.
− Only set up the convection heater in an easily accessi-
ble, level, dry, heat resistant and sufficiently stable area
or mount it on a wall in accordance with the notes in this
user manual.
− Avoid the build-up of heat by only placing the convection
heater directly up against an unobstructed wall and not
directly under cupboards or similar. The high tempera-
tures of the convection heater housing could set furnish-
ings and household items on fire.

convection heater must not be covered.

− Do not operate the convection heater in the vicinity of
flammable liquids or in an environment where there is a
risk of explosion.
− The convection heater must not be operated near flam-
mable materials such as pillows, newspapers or curtains.
− Never place the convection heater near hot surfaces (e.g.
hotplates).
− Ensure that the power cable does not come into contact
with hot parts, e.g. hot parts of the housing.
− Never place the convection heater on soft carpets with a
deep pile.
− Discontinue using the convection heater if the plastic com-
ponents exhibit cracks or breaks or are deformed.
− To prevent the heater from overheating, the heater must
not be covered.
CAUTION!

Improper handling of the convection heater may result in
injury and damage to the convection heater.
− To prevent any risks associated with the unintended reset
of the safety thermostat, the convection heater must not
be supplied with power via an external switching device
such as a timer or be connected with an electric circuit that
is regularly switched on and off by a device.
− Do not place the convection heater in the direct vicinity of
a bath tub, shower or swimming pool.
− Mount the convection heater so that the switches and oth-

Checking the convection heater and product

NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a
sharp knife or other pointy objects, you may quickly damage
the convection heater.
− For this reason, be very careful when opening it.
1. Take the convection heater out of the packaging and check whether the
convection heater or the individual parts exhibit damages. If this is the case,
do not use the convection heater. Contact the manufacturer at the service
address specified on the warranty card.
2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see fig. A).
Basic cleaning
1. Remove the packaging material and all protective foils.
2. Clean all parts of the convection heater before first use as described in the
chapter “Cleaning.”
Preparing for start-up
Before you use the convection heater for the first time, you must first attach
both support feet to the housing or mount the convection heater on the wall.
To do so, proceed as follows:
Mounting the support feet
1. Lay the convection heater with the back down on a stable table so that the
bottom edge of the housing extends slightly over the edge of the table
(see fig. C).
Several holes are located on both sides of the bottom of the housing. For the
next step, take note of the holes furthest to the inside.
2. Insert one support foot 7in the holes on each of the two ends (see fig. C).

and that the centering pins are positioned in the housing holes.
The support feet are now attached so that you can see each set of two holes,
which are diagonally opposed.
3. Use two short screws 5to secure each of the support feet on the housing.
Make sure that the support feet are straight and secure on the housing. Do
not overtighten the screws; instead only turn the screws into the housing
until hand-tight.
4. Place the convection heater on the support feet.
Mounting the convection heater on the wall
WARNING!
Fire hazard!
The housing of the convection heater gets very hot during oper-
ation.Therefore,follow the instructionsbelowforwall mounting:
− Ensure that there is a distance of at least 1.9 ft (50 cm)
between the bottom side of the convection heater and the
ground (see fig. G).
− Ensure that there is a distance of at least 1.6 ft (40 cm) to a
wall/objects and furniture on the side.
− Ensure there is at least 3.9 ft (1 m) of clearance above the
convection heater and along the periphery (e.g. to furni-
ture or the room ceiling).
− Do not in any case hang the convection heater in a
crooked or lopsided position.
− Do not use the convection heater without support feet or
when it is lying flat on the ground.
− Make sure that a socket with earthing contact can be
reached without an extension cord.
− The heat must be able to dissipate without obstruction to
prevent the build-up of heat and in order to avoid any risk
of fire. The build-up of heat could trigger the automatic
overheat protection.

1. If necessary, remove the attached support feet 7if you intend to mount
the convection heater on the wall.
2. Measure the distance between the two vertical slots in the rear panel of the
convection heater (see fig. D).
3. Mark this distance on the wall you would like to operate the convection
heater on.
Be absolutely sure to observe the specifications regarding safe distances at
the beginning of this chapter.
4. Drill two holes with a diameter of 0.31 in (8 mm) and a depth of
1.38 in (35 mm) in the wall and insert a dowel 6in each of them.
5. Screw the brackets 2and 3in place so that they are mirror-inverted
with respect to one another.
Keep in mind that the brackets open outwards, that is, the mounting hole
points out and to the side.
6. Screw the two other brackets onto the bottom of the housing.
For this, insert the long side of the bracket on the back of the housing into
the slot on the bottom of the housing. Make sure that the mounting hole
points down in the process towards the ground.
7. Use a short screw 5to screw each of the mounting brackets onto the
housing.
8. Hang the convection heater on the two brackets that are mounted on the
wall.
Make sure that the two slots in the rear panel of the convection heater hous-
ing slide into the opening on the two mounting brackets and that the con-
vection heater is hung so that it is straight.
There must be at least 1.9 ft (50 cm) of space between the bottom edge of
the housing and the ground.
9. On the wall, mark the center points for the mounting holes that will carry
the two mounting brackets on the bottom of the housing.
Take the convection heater down again and drill the two holes where the
marks are.
10. Insert one dowel in each of the holes you drilled.
11. Hang the convection heater back on the support brackets on the back of the
housing.
12. Screw the bottom brackets onto the wall with two long screws 4.

CAUTION!
Risk of short circuit!
Make sure that the convection heater is switched off before
you connect the convection heater with a socket with earthing
contact.
− Switch all inputs/outputs off and turn the thermostat con-
trol counterclockwise to the stop point at the MIN position.
− Connect the power plug with a socket with earthing contact.
− Do not in any case use an extension cord or multiple sock-
et strip.
CAUTION!
Fire hazard!
Using an external switching device like a timer poses a risk of
fire and a risk of injury to persons and damage to property
due to overheating of the convection heater.
− Do not in any case use an external switching device to
switch the convection heater on or off. This may cause an
unintended reset of the temperature limiter and the con-
vection heater to overheat as a result.
− Never connect the convection heater to an electric circuit
that is regularly switched on and off by a device, e.g. a
multiple socket strip that can be switched.

Position System mode
The convection heater has been switched off. It is not possible to
switch the device on or off with the thermostat control 13 , the
timer 14 or the 3 On/Off switches (heat setting 10 , 11 /fan 12 ).
In this position, the convection heater can be switched on via the
timer 14 setting.
In this position, the convection heater can be switched on with
the 3 On/Off switches (heat setting 10 ,11 /fan 12 ).

The convection heater has 3 different heat settings. The fan can be activated at
any of the heat settings.

Setting and maintaining the room temperature
By setting the thermostat control 13 , you can keep the room temperature at
relatively the same level. To do so, proceed as follows:
1. Turn the thermostat control counterclockwise up to the stop point.
You have set the lowest temperature.
2. Turn the thermostat control clockwise up to the stop point.
You have set the highest temperature.
If you would like to set and maintain a specific room temperature, proceed as
follows:

4. Use the switches 650 W 11 and 850 W 10 to select a heat setting.
The indicator lights for the active switches will illuminate.
5. Turn the thermostat control 13 clockwise up to the stop point (= MAX).
6. Wait until a pleasant room temperature has been reached.
7. Now turn the thermostat control counterclockwise until the indicator lights
on the On/Off switches go out.
Leave the thermostat control in this position.
The convection heater now automatically switches on and off in order to main-
tain the room temperature.
NOTICE
If the ambient temperature changes considerably e.g.
because a door is left open for a prolonged period, the setting
must be performed again as described.
8. Move the sliding switch on the timer to in order to switch the convection
heater off. Pull the power plug out of the socket if you are not using the con-
vection heater for a prolonged period.
Controlling heating times with the timer
You can use the timer 14 to set the time for heating. For this, pull the corre-
sponding segments on the clock out. The convection heater will then switch on
and off at the set times.
