General information
Reading and storing the user manual
This user manual accompanies this flame effect heater (hereafter
referred to as the "heater"), and contains important information
on setup and handling.
Before using the heater, read the user manual carefully. This
particularly applies to the safety instructions. Failure to do so may result in
personal injury or damage to the heater.
Store the user manual for further use. Make sure to include this user manual
when passing the heater on to third parties.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the
heater or on the packaging.
WARNING! This signal symbol/word designates a hazard
with moderate risk, which may result in
death or severe injury if not avoided.
CAUTION! This signal symbol/word designates a hazard
with low risk, which may result in minor or
moderate injury if not avoided.
NOTICE! This signal word warns of possible damage
to property.
This symbol provides you with useful additional information on
handling and use.
The ETL Listed Mark is proof that the product has been
independently tested and meets the applicable published
standard.
This heater is classified as protection class I and must be
connected to an earthed outlet.
High temperatures are generated when the heater is in use.
Do not cover the heater with a blanket, tablecloth, etc. Doing so
could result in overheating and fire.

Proper use
The heater is exclusively designed for the purpose of heating a room. It is only
intended for private use and not suitable for commercial purposes.
Only use the heater as described in this user manual. Any other use is
considered improper and may result in damage to property.
The manufacturer or vendor cannot be held liable for damages incurred
through improper or incorrect use.
Safety instructions
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed including the following:
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
A faulty electrical installation, excessive line voltage, or incorrect
operation may result in an electric shock.
− Only use the heater only as described in this user manual.
Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer
may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
− Only connect the heater if the line voltage of the outlet
corresponds to the data on the rating plate.
− Only connect the heater to properly grounded outlets.
− Only connect the heater to an easily accessible outlet so
that you can quickly disconnect it from the power supply
in the event of a problem.
− Always plug the heater directly into a wall outlet, do not
use an extension cord or power strip.
− Do not operate the heater if it exhibits visible damages or
if the power cord or plug is defective.
− Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug

or after the heater malfunction, has been dropped in any
manner. Discard heater, or return to authorized service
facility for examination and/or repair.
− Do not open the housing; instead, have a qualified
professional perform repairs. Contact a qualified
workshop for this. Liability and warranty claims are
waived in the event of repairs performed by the user,
improper connection or incorrect operation.
− Only parts that comply with the original device data
may be used for repairs. This device contains electrical
and mechanical parts which are essential for providing
protection against sources of danger.
− Do not operate the heater with an external timer or
separate remote control system.
− Do not immerse the heater, the power supply unit or
power cord in water or other liquids.
− Never touch the power plug with wet or damp hands.
− Do not pull the power plug out of the outlet by the cord;
instead, always pull it out by the plug itself.
− Never move, pull, or carry the heater by its power cord.
− Keep the heater and power cord away from open flames
and hot surfaces.
− Lay the power cord so that it does not pose a tripping
hazard.
− Do not kink the power cord and do not lay it over sharp
edges.
− Do not run cord under carpeting, cover it with throw
rugs, runners, or similar coverings or under furniture or
appliances.
− Only use the heater indoors. Do not use the heater in
bathrooms, laundry areas, damp rooms or in the rain.
− Never store the heater such that there is a risk of it falling
into a tub or sink.

− Never reach to retrieve an electrical device if it has fallen
into water. In such a case, immediately disconnect the
power plug.
− Never insert any objects into the housing, ventilation or
exhaust openings.
− Always switch the heater off and unplug it when you are
not using it, when you intend to clean it, or in the event of
a malfunction.
Grounding instructions
This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown
in figure A. An adapter as shown in Figure C is available for
connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot
receptacles. The green grounding lug extending from the
adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a
properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used
if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

WARNING!
Danger for children and persons with impaired physical,
sensory or mental capacities (e.g., partially disabled
persons, older persons with reduced physical and mental
capacities) or lack of experience and knowledge
(e.g., older children).
− Keep children younger than three years old away from the
heater unless continuously supervised.
− Children between the ages of 3 and 8 years old may
only turn the heater off and on provided that they are
supervised and have been given instruction on how to
use the heater in a safe manner and understand the
hazards involved. The heater must also have been placed
or installed in its intended normal operating position.
− Children between the ages of 3 and 8 years old may not
plug in, regulate and clean the heater, or perform user
maintenance.
− Children may not play with the heater.
− Do not leave the heater unattended while in operation.
− Make sure that children do not play with the plastic
wrapping. They may get caught in it and suffocate.

Risk of fire!
Handling the heater improperly may cause a fire and pose a
risk of injury or risk to life.
− A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do
not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable
liquids are used or stored.
− Always keep fire safety in mind when operating the
heater.
− In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.

− Make sure the heating element/air vent slots are not
covered and that there is adequate ventilation in the
room.
− Immediately unplug the heater if fire or smoke is emitted.
− Never use the heater near curtains, walls, under
cupboards or near other flammable materials and make
sure it is at least 3 feet (1 m) away from the front of the
heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.

The heating element and air vents can become very hot during
use and cause burns.
− Pay particular attention when children are present.
− Avoid touching the heating element and air vents. If
provided, use handles when moving the heater.
− Always remember to switch off the heater after use
by turning the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position and
removing the plug from the outlet.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the heater may result in damage.
− Do not use the heater outdoors or in places of high
humidity.
− To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a
bed, where openings may become blocked.
− Do not make any modifications to the heater nor use any
accessories not provided by the manufacturer.

Checking the heater and package contents
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a
sharp knife or other pointed object, you may quickly damage
the heater.
− For this reason, be very careful when opening the
packaging.
1. Take the heater out of the packaging and check whether it or any of the
individual parts are damaged. If this is the case, do not use the heater.
Contact the manufacturer via the service address indicated on the warranty
card.
2. Check to make sure that all components and accessories have been
received (see fig. A and B).
Preparing for use
1. Make sure to remove any small bits of plastic or other packaging that may
be lodged in between the heating element and air vents 3.
2. Place the heater on a flat, dry and heat-resistant surface.
3. Make sure the heating element/air vent slots are not covered and that there
is adequate ventilation in the room.
The heater may emit a faint smell when it is first heating up. This is entirely
safe and harmless.
Operation
The heater is fitted with an automatic safety thermal cut-off
system to prevent it from overheating.
1. Turn on the heater by setting the ON/OFF switch 8to the ON position
(see fig. C).
2. For low heat, set the low heat (I) switch 9to the “I” position.
3. For high heat, also set the high heat (II) switch 10 to the “II” position.
Both low and high heat switches need to be in their respective “on”
positions for high heat output.

4. Set the temperature knob 7to your desired heat setting by turning it
clockwise for warmer air or counterclockwise for cooler air.
5. Set the dimmer knob 6for the desired flame effect 2by turning it
clockwise for a higher effect or counterclockwise for a lower effect.
The flame effect is displayed at the front of the heater.
6. After use, set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position, unplug it, and let the
heater cool down completely before cleaning, moving or storing it.

The heating element and air vents can become very hot during
use and cause burns.
− Let the heater cool down completely before each cleaning.
NOTICE!
Risk of short circuit!
Water that has penetrated the housing may cause a short circuit.
− Make sure that no water or other liquids penetrate the
housing.
− Never immerse the heater in water or other liquids.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the heater may result in damage.
− Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal or
nylon bristles, sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as
knives, hard scrapers, etc. They may damage the surfaces.
− Do not use any abrasive, alkaline, or solvent cleaners to
clean any part of the heater, they will permanently scratch
the surface.

Cleaning the heater
1. Turn off and unplug the heater. Then let it cool down completely.
2. Use a damp cloth to wipe off any dirt or smudges.
Do not let water touch the control panel 4or heating element and air
vents 3.
3. Let all parts dry completely.
4. Use a vacuum cleaner or compressed air to keep the heating element and
air vents free of dust and dirt.
Replacing the chandelierlightbulbs
WARNING!
Risk of fire!
Handling the heater improperly may cause a fire and pose a
risk of injury or risk to life.
− Only use 120 V bulbs no greater than 40 W each.
− Use of a higher rated bulb may result in a fire, causing
damage to property, personal injury or loss of life.
You will need a cross-head screwdriver in order to change the
lightbulbs. For convenience, if one lightbulb burns out, it may be
easier to replace both at the same time.
To change the chandelier lightbulbs, proceed as follows:
1. Turn off the heater and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
2. Let the heater cool down if it has been in use.
3. Turn the heater around so you are facing the back.
The chandelier lightbulbs 12 are located behind the access panel 5.
4. Remove the two cross-head screws 11 from the access panel (see fig. D).
5. Lift the access panel so the two positioning tabs come out of their slots, and
then remove it.
6. Unscrew each chandelier lightbulb by turning it counterclockwise out of
their bases.
7. Screw in each new chandelier lightbulb by turning it clockwise into their
bases.

8. Replace the access panel by first inserting the tabs, then pushing the plate
up against the back of the heater.
9. Finally, insert the two cross-head screws and tighten them with a cross-
head screwdriver.
Storage
− Switch off, unplug and let the heater cool down completely.
− Store it safely out of the reach of children.
− Store the heater in a clean and dry location free from excessive vibration.

Disposing of the packaging
− Sort the packaging before you dispose of it. Dispose of paperboard and

country.
