m WARNING
(1) ONLY QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL PERSONNEL SHOULD BE
PERMITTED TO WORK ON THE EQUIPMENT.
(2) ALWAYS DE-ENERGIZE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CIRCUITS IF
A CIRCUIT BREAKER CANNOT BE REMOVED TO A SAFE WORK
LOCATION.
(3) DRAWOUT CIRCUIT BREAKERS SHOULD BE LEVERED (RACKED)
OUT TO THE DISCONNECT POSITION.
(4) ALL CIRCUIT BREAKERS SHOULD BE SWITCHED TO THE OFF
POSITION AND MECHANISM SPRINGS DISCHARGED.
FAILURE
TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS FOR ALL PROCEDURES
DESCRIBED IN THIS INSTRUCTION LEAFLET COULD RESULT IN
DEATH, BODILY INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Section 1: Introduction
Air circuit breakers with PXR electronic trip units are pre-configured
at the factory for their rated current (In). This software allows you
to modify the Inwithin a restricted range. The allowable Inratings
are determined by a combination of factors including the breaker’s
construction and the breaker’s application. This software will restrict
the In to the values supported by the circuit breaker’s construction.
You are responsible to limit the Invalue based on the application and
not exceed any value specified by the engineer responsible for the
installation.
Protection settings of the trip unit are based on the Inrating. These
settings affect the time-current curves and contribute to proper sys-
tem coordination. Modification of the Inmay require re-evaluation
of the circuit breaker’s protection settings and overall coordination
study to ensure proper application by the engineer responsible for
the installation.
The Change PXR ACB Rated Current functionality in PXPM is used in
place of the rating plugs used in Digitrip trip units.
This Instruction Leaflet provides instructions for updating the current
marking on the breaker after making a change to the rated current
(In) using PXPM and the licensed Change PXR ACB Rated Current
functionality. The user is responsible for updating the rated current
(In) marking on the breaker frame to match new rated current (In) to
ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.

Section 2: Replacing the rated current label
ote:N A number of graphics in these instructions use the Magnum frame
breaker only as typical examples. The PD-RF and PD-NF breakers are similar
in those situations.
Step 1. Peel the factory In label from the Frame Rating Module
cover.
Step 2. Find the label corresponding with the new rated current
(In) programmed through PXPM. These labels are included
as part of PXPM-SW-PXRIN-KIT-1, along with the license to
make one change to a breaker’s rated current.
Figure 2. Step 2. Provided label sheet
Step 3. Place label over the rated current (In) marking located on the
trip unit such that the previous marking is no longer visible.
Figure 3. Step 3. Placing label
ote:N A blank white field is provided on the Frame Rating Module cover
beneath the factory rated current label. If the correct rated current label is not
available at the time of reprogramming, remove the factory rated current label
and mark the new rated current on the white field with a permanent marker.
Contact Eaton for new rated current labels and apply the correct label when
available.
