ELC-EX08NNSN Switch Type of Digital Extension
Module Instruction Sheet
1 Warning
Carefully read this instruction sheet before operating ELC-EX08NNSN.
ELC-EX08NNSN is an OPEN-TYPE. Please place the module in an enclosure away from airborne dust or high
humidity and prevent electric shock or sudden shock on ELC-EX08NNSN. Also, it is equipped with protective
methods such as some special tool or key to open the enclosure, so as to avoid the hazard to users or any damage
to the module. Do NOT touch terminals when power on.
2 Introduction
1. Thank you for choosing EATON ELC series products. ELC-EX08NNSN shall be used together with ELC SLIM TYPE
with occupying 8 inputs. I/O can be extended up to 128 points including MPU’s. Besides, there are special extension
modules available for up to 8 units connection.
2. Directly execute instructions by switching X0~X7 without external power supply or external wiring for signal
receiving.
3. The module can be used as a digital switch by directly inputting instruction without external wiring to receive signal
that ensures much convenience and safety for end user or for academic use.

4 Installation
1. Use a
screwdriver to
open the side
cover to reveal
the connecting
port.
2. Use a
screwdriver to
lift and
unfasten the
fixing clip.
3. Accurately
connect the
extension
module to the
MPU by using
the pinholes at
each corner.
4. Secure the
extension
module to the
MPU by
pushing down
the fixing clips.
5 Troubleshooting
 Input LED Indicator
The input status can be distinguished by the ON/OFF of the LED. When input is ON, LED will be lit. If error
happens, please check the loops of LED and input signal by using HHP/ELCSoft. Other attention items:
1. Do NOT place ELC-EX08NNSN under direct sunlight and put is away from overheating objects those may
heat up the temperature of the module and result in malfunction.
2. Periodically clean the airborne or conductive dust on the panel.
