BESTIMMUNGSGEMÄSSE VERWENDUNG
Der Gas Alarm GX-C3 mit externem Sensor ist ein Gasmelder für Kohlenmonoxid (CO) /
Rauch und warnt bereits bei einer Gaskonzentration, die weit unter dem lebensbedrohli-
chen Wert liegt. Dieses Überwachungssystem ist deshalb seinem Zweck entsprechend sehr
empndlich eingestellt (s. Tabelle TECHNISCHE DATEN). Das Warnsignal erfolgt akustisch/
optisch und gleichzeitig wird das angeschlossene Gasgerät abgeschaltet. Das Gerät ist ge-
eignet für den normalen Haushaltsgebrauch und darf nicht in explosionsgefährdeten Räu-
men eingesetzt werden.
Für eine andere Verwendung, als zuvor beschrieben, ist das Gerät nicht zugelassen.

Platzierung des Sensors bei
Kohlenmonoxid (CO) / Rauch:
Montieren Sie den externen Sensor möglichst nahe
an der zu überwachenden Verbrennungsstätte bzw.
Abzug/Kamin/Schornstein, jedoch ca. 15-30 cm un-
ter der Zimmerdecke, da die austretenden Gase er-
hitzt sind und zunächst erstmals nach oben steigen.
Der Sensor darf an folgenden Standorten nicht montiert werden:
Stellen, die bei Gasaustritt die Alarmauslösung verhindern könnten (z.B. hinter •
Vorhängen oder in Schränken)
Direkt über Herd bzw. Verbrennungsstätte oder über einem Waschbecken•
Neben einer Tür, Fenstern, Belüftung, Ventilator, Klimaanlage usw.•
In Bereichen, in denen Staub oder Schmutz den Sensor außer Betrieb setzen kann•
In explosionsgefährdeten Räumen•
INBETRIEBNAHME
Der GAS ALARM GX-C3 wird einfach in eine Steckdose 230V/50Hz gesteckt. Die Anzeige
LED (Function) leuchtet gelb. Der Sensor des Überwachungssystems benötigt dabei eine
Aufheizzeit von 3-5 Minuten zum Erreichen der Funktionsfähigkeit. Anschließend leuchtet die
LED (Function) grün und der GAS ALARM GX-C3 ist betriebsbereit.
ACHTUNG: Aufgrund unterschiedlicher Transportbedingungen (lange Lagerung / Feuchtig-
keit) kann unmittelbar nach der Aufheizzeit ein Alarm ausgelöst werden (LED blinkt rot).
Trennen Sie das Gerät kurz vom Netz und starten erneut die Aufheizzeit. Dieser Vorgang
muss evtl. bis zu drei mal wiederholt werden.
Achten Sie unbedingt auf die vorgeschriebene Montagehöhe des Sensors!
MONTAGEANLEITUNG
Der GAS ALARM GX-C3 und der Sensor dürfen nur in trockenen Innenräumen installiert
und müssen je nach Gastyp richtig platziert werden, damit eine einwandfreie Funktion des
Warngerätes gewährleistet ist.

Zu Ihrer Sicherheit empfehlen wir, diesen Test monatlich durchzuführen!
Reinigen Sie regelmäßig den Sensor, indem Sie durch Pusten den Staub
vom Sensor entfernen.

REINIGEN UND PFLEGEN
Vermeiden Sie den Einuss von Nässe (Spritz- oder Regenwasser), Staub sowie unmittelbare
Sonnenbestrahlung auf das Gerät. Reinigen Sie das Gerät nur mit einem trockenen
Leinentuch, das bei starken Verschmutzungen leicht angefeuchtet sein kann. Verwenden Sie
zur Reinigung keine lösemittelhaltigen Reinigungsmittel.
ALARM
Erst wenn eine erhöhte Gaskonzentration länger als 30 Sekunden vom Sensor detektiert
wird, löst das Gerät einen Alarm aus und die LED (Function) blinkt rot.
VERHALTEN BEI ALARM
Das Warngerät nicht ausstecken•
Nehmen Sie keine weiteren elektrischen Geräte in Betrieb•
Zünden Sie kein offenes Licht an bzw. löschen Sie offenes Feuer•
Öffnen Sie sofort Fenster und Türen und durchlüften Sie den Raum bzw. das Haus •
gründlich. Informieren Sie andere Personen im Haus. Alle Personen müssen das Haus
verlassen!
Untersuchen Sie den Raum bzw. das Haus nach eventuellen Brandherden. •
Kohlenmonoxid entsteht bei der Rauchentwicklung von Bränden. Wichtig: Alle Personen
müssen das Haus verlassen!
Beseitigen Sie die Ursache für den Gasaustritt. Bei Unklarheiten verständigen Sie Ihren •
Fachmann für Energieversorgung
Kontaktieren Sie bei anhaltendem/mehrfachem Alarm Ihren Fachmann für •
Energieversorgung bzw. die Feuerwehr
FEHLALARM
Der empndliche Sensor des Systems spricht auch auf andere gasförmige Medien an. Der
Gebrauch von Aerosolen (Treibgas in Sprays für Haare, Desinfektion, usw.) aber auch star-
ker Tabakqualm (z.B. rauchende Kartenrunde) und Kochdämpfe können zu einem Fehlalarm
führen.
FUNKTIONSTEST
Eine einfache Funktionsprüfung des Sensors ist mit Butangas aus einem Feuerzeug mög-
lich. Ein Gasstoß (ca. 30 s), ohne das Feuerzeug zu zünden, löst einen Alarm aus und die
LED (Function) blinkt rot. Trennen Sie das Gerät kurz vom Netz und starten erneut die Auf-
heizzeit.
ALLGEMEIN
Elektrotechnik Schabus GmbH & Co. KG haftet nicht für Schäden und/oder Verluste jeder
Art, wie z.B. Einzel- oder Folgeschäden, die daraus resultieren, dass kein Alarmsignal trotz
erhöhter Gaskonzentration durch den Gasmelder gegeben wird.

APPROPRIATE USE
The GAS ALARM GX-C3 with external sensor is a gas warning device for town, natural and
liqueed gases and can already deliver a warning at a gas concentration that lies well below
life-threatening values. This monitoring system is, therefore, in line with its purpose, set to
a very high sensitivity (see table TECHNICAL DATA). The alarm is signalled acoustically/
optically and the connected gas appliance is turned off at the same time. The unit is suitable
for normal household use and may not be used in areas at risk of explosion.
Another use of the device as described above is not authorized.

Placing of the sensor for
carbon monoxide (CO) / smoke:
Mount the external sensor as close as possible to the
point of combustion or ue/chimney to be monitored
but some 15-30 cm below the ceiling as the escaping
gas will be heated and will initially rise.
The sensor may not be used in the following positions:
places where the sensor is shielded from escaping gas (e.g. behind curtains or in•
cupboards)
directly above hearths or points of combustion or over a wash basin or sink•
next to a door, windows, ventilator, fan, air conditioning unit etc.•
in areas where dust or dirt can prevent the sensor from working•
in areas at risk of explosion•
START-UP
The GAS ALARM GX-C3 is simply plugged into a 230V/50Hz socket. The LED indicator
(Function) will light up yellow. The sensor of the monitoring system requires a warm-up time
of 3-5 minutes to become fully operational. The LED indicator (Function) will then light green
and the GAS ALARM GX-C3 is operational.
NOTE: various transport conditions (lengthy storage / humidity) can lead to an alarm state
being triggered immediately after the warm-up time (LED ashes red). Disconnect the unit
briey from the supply and start the warm-up process again. You may need to repeat this
procedure up to three times.
It is essential to observe the prescribed sensor mounting height!
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The GAS ALARM GX-C3 and the sensor may be installed only in dry, interior rooms and
must be correctly placed according to the type of gas to ensure faultless operation of the
alarm system.

CLEANING AND CARE
Avoid the effects of moisture (spray or rain water), dust as well as direct insolation on the
device. Clean the device exclusively with a dry linen cloth; in case of heavy dirt accumulation,
it may be slightly moistened. Do not use any detergents containing solvents.
For your own safety and reassurance, we recommend that you carry out
this test every month!
Regularly clean the sensor by blowing off any dust.
ALARM
The device only triggers an alarm and the LED (Function) ashes red if the sensor has de-
tected an elevated gas concentration for longer than 30 seconds.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF ALARM
Do not unplug the alarm unit•
Do not switch on any other electrical devices or appliances•
Do not ignite any open ame, turn off any open ame already lit•
Immediately open windows and doors and thoroughly ventilate the area or house. Inform •
any other people in the house. Everyone must leave the house!
Search the area or house for any points of combustion/re. Carbon monoxide is •
developed by incomplete (smoky) combustion. Important: everyone must leave the
house!
Eliminate the cause of the escape of gas. In the event of uncertainty, contact your •
energy supply expert/adviser
In the event of persistent/repeated alarm, contact your energy supply expert/adviser or •
the re service
FALSE ALARM
The sensitive system sensor also responds to other gaseous media. The use of aerosols (gas
propellant in hair, disinfectant, alcohol etc. sprays), as well as strong tobacco fumes (smoking
card party) can lead to a false alarm.
FUNCTIONAL TEST
A simple functional test of the alarm unit can be carried out with butane gas from a cigarette
lighter. A burst of gas (approx. 30 seconds), without igniting the lighter, triggers an alarm
and the LED (function) ashes red. Disconnect the unit briey from the supply and start the
warm-up process again.
GENERAL

issuing an alarm despite the presence of an elevated gas concentration.

UTILISATION CONFORMÁ SA DESTINATION
Le GAS ALARM GX-C3 avec une sonde externe est un détecteur de monoxyde de carbone
(CO) et de fumées. Il déclenche l‘alarme à une concentration de gaz bien en dessous du
seuil mortel. Il déclenche l‘alarme à une concentration de gaz bien en dessous du seuil
mortel. Cet appareil est très sensible conformément à sa destination (cf. le tableau SPECIFI-
CATIONS TECHNIQUES). La signalisation d‘alarme se fait par voie sonore et lumineuse. En
même temps l‘équipement à gaz raccordé est mis à l‘arrêt. Cet appareil est tout indiqué pour
un usage domestique. Ne pas l‘installer dans une zone explosible.
L‘appareil n‘est pas homologué pour une utilisation autre que celle mentionnée.

point de combustion à surveiller (cheminée, poêle,
etc.) à environ 15-30 cm en dessous du plafond du
local, le gaz s‘échappant étant chaud et diffusant

Ne pas monter le capteur dans les situations suivantes:
dans les endroits pouvant inhiber ou perturber le déclenchement de l‘alarme (derrière •
des rideaux, une armoire, etc.)
directement au dessus du foyer ou de la zone de combustion ou au dessus d‘un évier•
à proximité d‘une porte, de fenêtres, d´une aération, d‘un ventilateur, d‘une climatisation, •
etc.
dans des endroits exposés à la poussière ou aux saletés pouvant mettre hors service •
la sonde
dans les zones explosibles•
MISE EN SERVICE
Il suft de brancher le GAS ALARM GX-C3 dans une prise 230V/50Hz. La LED de signali-
sation (Function) jaune s‘allume. Il faut 3-5 minutes au capteur du dispositif pour se mettre
en régime et être opérationnelle. Puis la LED (Funciton) verte s‘allume, l‘appareil GX-C3
est opérationnel.
ATTENTION: du fait des conditions de transport (entreposage de longue durée / humidi-
té, etc.) un état d‘alarme peut se déclencher immédiatement après la phase de mise en

Respecter impérativement la position prescrite pour le capteur!
INSTRUCTIONS D’INSTALLATION
Le GAS ALARM GX-C3 et le capteur doit toujours être installé dans un local sec et monté
d‘une certaine manière selon le type de gaz à détecter: un fonctionnement correct du dispo-
sitif d‘alerte est ainsi assuré.

NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN
Evitez le contact avec l’humidité (projections d’eau ou eau de pluie), poussière ainsi que
l’exposition de votre appareil aux rayons solaires directs. Nettoyez l’appareil uniquement
avec un chiffon en lin sec qui peut être légèrement humidié en cas de salissures prononcées.
N’utilisez aucun produit de nettoyage contenant des solvants.
Pour votre sécurité il est recommandé de faire ce test une fois par mois!
Nettoyer régulièrement le capteur en enlevant la poussière sur le capteur.
ALARME
C‘est seulement si une forte concentration de gaz est détectée pendant plus de 30 secondes
par le capteur que l‘appareil déclenche une alarme et la diode (Function) clignote en rouge.
CONDUITE EN CAS D‘ALARME
Ne pas débrancher l‘appareil de signalisation d‘alarme•
Ne pas mettre en marche d‘autres appareillages électriques•
Eteignez toute amme ou feu éventuel•
Ouvrir immédiatement les portes et les fenêtres et aérer à fond le local, la maison. •
Alerter les autres personnes et faire évacuer tout le monde!
Examiner le local, la maison, pour voir s‘il y a des foyers d‘incendie éventuels. Le •
monoxyde de carbone se forme lors de la formation de fumées. Important: toutes les
personnes doivent quitter les lieux!
Régler l‘anomalie à l‘origine de la fuite de gaz ou de sa propagation. En cas de difculté •
contacter les services techniques du fournisseur
Si l‘état d‘alarme persiste ou est récurrent, contacter les services du fournisseur ou les•
pompiers
FAUSSE ALARME
Le capteur du dispositif détecte également d‘autres uides gazeux. Ainsi les aérosols (gaz
propulseur de acons pulvérisateurs pour traitement des cheveux, désinfection, alcools, etc.)
mais aussi les fumées de tabac épaisses (tabagies, etc.) peuvent induire des fausses alar-
mes.
TEST FONCTIONNEL
Un contrôle fonctionnel élémentaire de l‘appareil peut se faire avec du gaz butane d‘un bri-
quet. Un dégagement de gaz sans allumer le briquet (env. 30 secondes) déclenche une
alarme et la LED (Function) rouge clignote. Débrancher momentanément l‘appareil, remettre
sous tension et attendre que le capteur soit prête.
GENERALITES

REGLEMENTAIR VOORGESCHREVEN GEBRUIK
Het GAS ALARM GX-C3 met externe sensor is een gasmelder voor koolmonoxide (CO)
/ rook en waarschuwt reeds bij een gasconcentratie, die ver onder de levensbedreigende
waarde ligt. Dit monitoringsysteem is daarom in overeenstemming met het gebruiksdoeleinde
zeer gevoelig ingesteld (zie tabel TECHNISCHE GEGEVENS). Het waarschuwingssignaal
volgt akoestisch/optisch en gelijktijdig wordt het aangesloten gasapparaat uitgeschakeld. Het
apparaat is geschikt voor het normale gebruik in het huishouden en mag niet in explosiege-
vaarlijke ruimten gebruikt worden.
Voor een andere toepassing, die hierboven niet beschreven is, is het apparaat niet toege-
staan.

Plaatsing van de sensor bij
koolmonoxide (CO) / rook:
Monteer de externe sensor zo dicht mogelijk bij de
te observeren verbrandingsplaats c.q. uitlaat/haard/
schoorsteen, maar ca. 15-30 cm onder het plafond
omdat de vrijkomende gassen verhit zijn en in eerste
instantie voor het eerst opstijgen.
De sensor mag op volgende locaties niet gemonteerd worden:
Plaatsen, die bij gaslekkage de inwerkingstelling van het alarm zouden kunnen •
verhinderen (bijvoorbeeld achter gordijnen of in kasten)
Direct boven fornuis c.q. verbrandingsplaats of boven een wastafel•
Naast een deur, ramen, ventilatieruimte, ventilator, airconditioninginstallatie, enz.•
In gebieden, waar stof of vuil de sensor buiten werking kan stellen•
In explosiegevaarlijke ruimten•
INBEDRIJFSTELLING
Het GAS ALARM GX-C3 wordt gewoon in een stopcontact 230V/50Hz gestoken. Het LED-
display (Function) is in het geel verlicht. De sensor van het monitoringsysteem heeft daarbij
een opwarmingstijd van 3-5 minuten nodig voordat het in staat is om goed te functioneren.
Vervolgens is de LED (Function) in het groen verlicht en is het GAS ALARM GX-C3 geb-
ruiksklaar.
OPGELET: omwille van uiteenlopende transportomstandigheden (lange opslag / vochtig-
heid) kan er onmiddellijk na de opwarmingstijd een alarm geactiveerd worden (LED knippert
in het rood). Verbreek het apparaat even van het stroomnet en start de opwarmingstijd opni-
euw. Deze procedure moet eventueel maximaal drie keer herhaald worden.
Let onvoorwaardelijk op de voorgeschreven positie van het sensor!
MONTAGEHANDLEIDING
Het GAS ALARM GX-C3 en de sensor mogen uitsluitend in droge binnenruimten geïnstal-
leerd en moeten afhankelijk van het gastype correct geplaatst worden opdat een foutloze
werking van het waarschuwingsapparaat gewaarborgd is.

REINIGING EN VERZORGING
Vermijd de invloed van vocht (spat- en regenwater), stof en directe inwerking van
zonlicht op het apparaat. Reinig het apparaat uitsluitend met een droge linnen doek, die
bij sterke vervuilingen licht vochtig gemaakt kan worden. Gebruik voor de reiniging geen
reinigingsmiddelen die oplosmiddelen bevatten.
NEDERLANDS
Omwille van uw veiligheid raden wij aan, deze test maandelijks door te
voeren! Reinig regelmatig de sensor doordat u door te blazen het stof van
de sensor verwijdert.
ALARM
Pas wanneer er een verhoogde gasconcentratie gedurende langer dan 30 seconden door
de sensor wordt vastgesteld, geeft het apparaat een alarm af en de LED (Function) knippert
dan rood.
GEDRAG BIJ ALARM
Het waarschuwingsapparaat niet uitzetten• Neem geen bijkomende elektrische •
apparaten in gebruik• Steek geen open licht aan c.q. blus open vuur
Open onmiddellijk ramen en deuren en verlucht de kamer c.q. het huis grondig. •
Informeer andere personen in het huis. Iedereen moet het huis verlaten!
Onderzoek de kamer c.q. het huis op eventuele brandhaarden. Koolmonoxide ontstaat •
bij de rookontwikkeling van brand. Belangrijk: iedereen moet het huis verlaten!
Verhelp de oorzaak van de gaslekkage. In geval van onduidelijkheden verwittigt u uw in •
energievoorziening gespecialiseerde vakman
Contacteer bij aanhoudend/herhaaldelijk alarm uw in energievoorziening •
gespecialiseerde vakman c.q. de brandweer
VALS ALARM
De gevoelige sensor van het systeem reageert ook op andere gasvormige media. Het geb-
ruik van aërosolen (drijfgas in sprays voor haar, ontsmetting, alcohol, enz.) maar ook sterke
tabakswalm (rokend kaartgezelschap) kan tot een vals alarm leiden.
TEST VAN DE WERKING
Een eenvoudige test van de werking van het waarschuwingsapparaat is met butaangas uit
een aansteker mogelijk. Een gasimpuls (ca. 30 seconden), zonder de aansteker aan te ste-
ken, stelt een alarm in werking en de LED (Function) knippert in het rood. Verbreek het
apparaat even van het stroomnet en start de opwarmingstijd opnieuw.
