Thank you for buying a new EMS product. It meets the highest quality and safety standards.
Adaptable on the turbine connection of the dental unit, the AIR-FLOW handy 3.0 PERIO / AIR-FLOW
handy 3.0 PERIO Premium is available in 2 different congurations.
The conguration with the AIR-FLOW PERIO handpiece allows the device to remove subgingival dental
plaque from periodontal pockets deeper than 5mm up to 10mm by biolm removal.
The conguration with the AIR-FLOW PLUS handpiece allows removal of biolm from pockets up to 4mm.
This system is especially recommended for all patients suffering from periodontal diseases (periodontitis,
peri-mucositis, peri-implantitis).

AIR-FLOW PERIO TREATMENT
Indications
The AIR-FLOW handy 3.0 PERIO/ AIR-FLOW handy 3.0 PERIO Premium use with the handpiece
AIR-FLOW PERIO and the nozzles is recommended for the following cleaning procedures :
• Maintenance of periodontal pockets deeper than 5 mm up to 10 mm by biolm removal
Contra-indications
Patients suffering from chronic bronchitis or asthma must not, under any circumstances, be treated
with an air polishing device. The jet of air and powder could cause respiratory difculties.
The treatment of deep periodontal pockets can cause bacteraemia. Please apply appropriate
restrictions for the treatment of risk patients (endocarditis, pregnancy, breast feeding, contagious disease,
immune deciency, neutropenia, agranulocytosis, diabetes, haemophilia), patients under treatment
(radiotherapy, chemotherapy, antibiotics).
Do not use AIR-FLOW PERIO handpiece with nozzle immediately after subgingival cleaning (Ultra-
sonic or hand instrumentation).
Predisposed persons may be sensitive to the powder. If allergic reactions are observed, stop using
the product and completely remove it.
The use of any other powder than the EMS powders for subgingival application would reduce the
nozzle's service life. As a result the treatment would become ineffective and would increase the risk of
emphysema.
The powders provided by EMS are especially designed for use with the unit. Do not use powders
from other manufacturers as this could damage the unit or could adversely affect its efciency.

免疫缺陷、嗜中性白血球减少症、粒性白血球缺乏症、糖尿病、血友病）、正在接受治疗（放射治疗、化
疗、抗生素治疗）的患者进行治疗时，请采用适当的限制措施。
在龈下清洁后（超声波或手用器械操作），请勿立即使用带喷嘴的 AIR-FLOW PERIO 洁牙手柄进
行治疗。
有这种发病倾向的人可能对牙粉过敏。 若出现过敏反应，立即停止使用本产品并将其完全移走。

In order to avoid any risk of emphysema, hypersensitivity, bleeding and patient uncomfort, the use
of supragingival powders (EMS CLASSIC, CLASSIC COMFORT and SOFT) is strictly forbidden during
subgingival treatments (contacts with soft tissues, dentine, cementum).
Patients suffering from chronic bronchitis or asthma must not, under any circumstances, be treated
with an air polishing device. The jet of air and powder could cause respiratory difculties.
Predisposed persons may be sensitive to the powder. If allergic reactions are observed, stop using
the product and completely remove it.

Do not direct the jet of powder toward llings, or crown and bridgework as this could damage the
restorations.
Do not use the AIR-FLOW method on severely inamed tissues.
Never use an abrasive powder i.e. silica or alumina based. This would damage the unit.
The powders provided by EMS are especially designed for use with the unit. Do not use powders
from other manufacturers as this could damage the unit or could adversely affect its efciency.

Water supply
• Water Pressure: 1.0 bar ≤ P ≤ 2.2 bar
(1000- 2200 hPa)
• Water temperature max. 40°C
Compressed air supply
• Air pressure : 2.7 ≤ P ≤ 3.5 bar
(2700-3500 hPa).
Use only dry and clean air (oil-free).
