The Eterna KonTiki Date has a screw-down crown 1.
To wind up the watch, to set the time or date, the crown
must be unscrewed by turning it anticlockwise. The
crown is then in position B. Once you have made the
desired settings, screw the crown back in by pressing it
slightly against the case and turning it clockwise.
Setting the date: Pull out the crown 1to position C.
The date 2is set by turning the crown clockwise. The
time display is not changed by this action. Then return
the crown to position B. But be aware that the date
display must not be changed manually between
22:00 hours and 02:00 hours to prevent damage of
the mechanical movement.
Setting the time: Pull out the crown 1to position D.
You will then see that the central seconds hand 5stops.
A special device allows you to set the time to the exact
second, by using a time signal for example. For this rea-
son it is best not to pull out the crown until the central
seconds hand is at 12 o’clock precisely. Now set the
hands to the correct time by turning the crown clock-
wise. As soon as you return the crown to position B,
the seconds hand will start moving again.
Setting the time and date: Pull out the crown 1to
position C. Set the date 2to the day before the
desired date. Pull out the crown to position D. Advance
the hands until the previous day’s date changes to
today’s date by turning the crown clockwise. You can
now be certain that you are setting the watch to the
forenoon (a.m.) or afternoon (p.m.) of the current day.
