Install fender and headlight (cont.)
5. On the fork legs there are two bolts near the
bottom. Remove those.
6. Pass the bolt through the wire loop of the fend-
er strut and thread the bolt back into the fork.
7. Repeat on the other side.
8. Li the headlight into an upright position, Li
the fender up as far as it will go (the metal tab
is slotted) and tighten the nut/bolt to hold it in
place.
9. Plug in the headlight. There are 2 arrows on
the connector--place them so they point at each
other. Snap the ends together.
Install Front Wheel
1. To install the front wheel first remove all the
packaging. Notice that there is a black cap on the
axle on the side opposite the disc brake. That can
be popped out using the skewer if necessary.
2. Remove the nut from the skewer and slide it
through starting on the disc side. There should be
a conical centering spring, and the narrow end
should face the axle.
3. Once the skewer is through the axle, place
the second spring on with the narrow and facing
inward.
4. Thread on the nut, but just get it started at this
point. If you thread it on too far, the wheel won’t
go into the fork.
5. There is a piece of plastic packaging that is
between the forklegs. Remove this. There is also a
plastic spacer inserted into the brake caliper. Pull
this out.
6. Li the front of the bike and place the wheel
into the fork resting the legs on the axle. Watch
closely from the brake side to ensure that the disc
is going into the slot in the caliper. This may be
easier if you lower the kickstand.
7. Pivot the lever so that it is straight in line with
the axle. Tighten the nut until it stops, then close
the lever. It should take some force to do this and
a good indicator is if the lever le an impression
in the palm of your hand. Ideally, the lever will
point towards the rear of the bike.
