Assembly of EVELO Aurora Hub Drive Bicycle
Unboxing Your EVELO
1. Begin unboxing the bike by cutting the
banding then opening the box. Use caution
regarding the staples as they can be very
sharp.
2. Remove the small boxes.
3. The easiest way to get the bike out of the
box is to lie the box down on its side and
then slide it out. See image ----->
4. Remove packaging including zip ties.
Caution: sometimes the zip ties are used to
hold cables or wires in place. A good indi-
cator is if the zip tie is touching a painted
surface of the bike—those should remain in
place.
5. Empty all the boxes so you know what
you are working with.
The focus of this document is to assist with the assembly of your new EVELO
Aurora. The scope is intentionally narrow -- The “User Guide” that was
included with your bike covers a much broader spectrum of topics: fit
adjustments, battery care, controls etc.

Rotate Fork (if needed)
Depending on how the bike was packed at the
factory, you may need to turn the forkso that
the Fork Arch is facing forward.
If needed, rotate the steering assembly so that the
cables aren’t wrapped around the frame and the
arch is facing forward. Both brake calipers should
be on the le hand side of the bike.
Install Stem
1. Remove the bolt, cap and cardboard tube from
top of steerer tube. These items are packaging and
will not be used for the assembly.
2.Prepare the stem by removing the decorative
rubber plug and bolt. These parts will be rein-
stalled.
3. Place the stem onto the steerer tube and side
it all the way down until it contacts the stack of
spacers.
4. Insert the bolt you removed in step 2 and begin
threading it in with the allen wrench provided.
Tighten it until the spacers below cannot be turned
using 2 fingers.
5. Press the decorative rubber plug into the hole
above the bolt.

1. Remove the bolt from fork arch.
2. Insert the bolt from the back side through a
washer and headlight bracket. Screw in the bolt
in using the allen wrench provided. Note that the
hole in the headlight bracket is slotted -- as the
bolt gets close to tight, li the headlight to it’s
highest position and secure in place. Sometimes
the painting process can apply excess paint into
the threaded hole, making the bolt difficult to
turn -- use the allen wrench to turn it in as needed
(just make sure the bolt isn’t cross threaded when
you initially start screwing it in.)
Install Headlight

6. Turn the stem so that it will be inline with
the front wheel (once installed).
7. Securely tighten the 2 bolts located on
either side of the stem.
Install Front Wheel
1. To install the front wheel first remove all the
packaging.
2. Using a 5mm allen wrench, remove the axle
from the fork

3.Check the slot in the brake caliper for a plastic
spacer. Remove it if there is one. This piece is typi-
cally orange, but other colors are possible.
4.Install the front wheel, taking care to fit the
brake disc into the slot in the caliper. You can now
lower the kickstand and let the weight of the bike
be supported by the front wheel.
5. Instert the axle through the fork and front
wheel. When it stops, thread it in with the 5mm
allen wrench. There will be about 1/2” of axle
protruding when it is inserted far enough to begin
engaging the threads.

Install Pedals
Installation of the pedals requires a 15 mm
wrench.
It is important to note that the pedals are
threaded differently. The right pedal will screw
in clockwise, and the le pedal will screw
in counterclockwise. There is an L and an R
stamped into the end of each pedal for refer-
ence.
Screw both pedals in securely.
Use of Battery
Keys for your battery were attached to the bike
(typically the handlebars). We cannot replace
exact keys, so it is a good idea to keep one in a
safe place and use the other for daily use.
To release the battery, insert the key in the lock
and twist. While in the unlocked position, tip
the battery and li out of the bike.
To reinstall, place the tab at the bottom of the
battery into the slot in the dock and tip the bat-
tery inward until it clicks. Double check to make
sure that it is secure.
To charge your battery, first insert the charger
tip into the battery (there is a rubber door to
open).
Plug the charger into any standard outlet.
It should begin as red when the charger is
plugged in to both the outlet and the battery.
It is charged when the red light turns green.
This can be done with the battery either on or
off the bike.

Positioning Chain
Its possible that the chain has come off the chain-
ring during shipping. Correcting this is quite easy.
Begin at the bottom and pull the chain forward
and place it on the teeth of the chainring. You will
be pulling against the spring tension of the rear
deraillure.
Continue pulling and wrapping as you move in
a counter-clockwise direction until the chain has
engaged the teeth all the way to the top as shown.

Your new EVELO bicycle is equipped with a three-inch tire and mounted to a wide rim. Your bike’s
tire and rim are both designed for maximum comfort, traction, and stability.
This tire and rim combination may be a bit different than bike tires you have used in the past. Given
the much higher volume created by tire and rim combination, the recommended pressure is sig-
nificantly lower than tire pressure on most bicycles.
Please reference the table below to correctly set the tire pressure.
The pressure recommendation printed on the tire should not be used, as they are not suitable for
this tire and rim combination.
Additionally, it’s always a good idea to check your tire pressure every couple of weeks.

Serial Number Location
To register your bike on our website, you will
need to record the serial number. It is located
on the headtube of your bike, just above the
front fork.
