Thank you for purchasing the Exo Terra®Wire Light. Please read
this operation manual carefully before use and operate according to
the instructions provided for maximum safety and performance. We
recommend that you keep this manual handy for future reference.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Do not immerse cord, plug or the device in water or other liquid.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
Do not attempt repairs yourself on this product. If damaged,
return the product to an authorized repair facility for service or
discard the product.
Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not
the cord.
Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
Hot surfaces. Avoid contact while fixture
is in operation.
Keep Wire Light away from curtains and other
flammable objects when in operation.
Ensure that the Wire Light is securely attached to the top
rim of the terrarium.

Do not use for any purpose other than described in this
user’s guide.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with significantly impaired physical or mental
capabilities, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety. Children should always be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting
from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the
extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating

Screw light bulb into the Exo Terra®Wire Light (follow maximum
wattage guidelines). apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to
the threads on the base of the light bulb before screwing it in.
This will make it easier to unscrew the bulb when it is time to
replace it.
Insert Hanger into the mounting brackets located on either side of
the lamp socket (A).
Suspend Exo Terra®Wire Light from ceiling or other elevated
platform using a chain or other recommended suspension
method. Ensure that the lamp is positioned over the top metal
screen portion of your terrarium and NOT over any glass, plastic
parts, or other flammable material. Failure to do so could result in
a possible fire hazard.
Keep unit out of reach of children. Keep unit away from curtains or
other flammable objects.
Screw light bulb into the Exo Terra®Wire Light (follow maximum

3. Clean the outside surface of the terrarium glass.
4. With the protective backing still intact, place the Light Bracket
support on the back or the side of the terrarium to determine its
final position.
Mark the position with a wax pencil or other marker.
Remove the protective backing and carefully fit the Light Bracket
support within the marked area.
7. Make sure the tape is pressed evenly against the terrarium glass
and that no air bubbles are showing.
Press the adhesive sides firmly against the glass panel for at least
30 seconds.
Wait a few moments and make sure the tape is attached firmly to
the terrarium before suspending the fixture.
Once in place, the Light Bracket should not be removed.
Adjust the height and tighten the screw of the Light Bracket
when the Exo Terra®Wire Light is suspended above the
terrarium at the desired height.
Remove the first rubber washer and slide the ring of the fixture’s
support tightly in between both rubber stoppers.
Adjust the position of the Exo Terra®Wire Light by moving the
of the appliance. The longer extension cord should be arranged
so that it will not drape over the counter top or table where it
could be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
This appliance has a polarized plug
(one blade is wider than the other) To Reduce the risk of electric
shock; the plug is intended to fit into a polarized receptacle on in
one way. If the plug cannot be fully inserted into the receptacle,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician in order to have a proper polarized receptacle
installed. Do not attempt to modify the plug or receptacle in
any way.
The Exo Terra®Wire Light has a heat resistant porcelain socket
designed to withstand up to 250 Watts. Ideal for use with Heat Wave
Lamps (ceramic heat emitters), self-ballasted mercury vapour bulbs,
and all types of regular incandescent bulbs. The wire guard prevents
unnecessary heat build-up. Combine the Wire Light with the Exo
Terra®Light Bracket (PT2223) to suspend it securely above any
glass terrarium.
This clamp must not be used to mount this lamp onto any
glass item, terrarium, shelf, or aquarium.Attach Wire Light ONLY
on the frame of the terrarium, not on the glass.

Attach the clamp bracket to the lamp socket, wide part of the
bracket goes around the socket (adjust the screw to widen the
bracket as necessary).
Insert the narrow, rounded end of the clamp between narrow part
of the bracket and tighten the screw until the clamp is firmly
secured.
Attach the lamp to the top rim portion of your terrarium (not to
the glass part of the terrarium). squeeze the clamp to open
it, release the clamp to close it. Test that the Wire Light is firmly
secured to the terrarium by gently tapping the lamp with your
fingers. Ensure that the lamp is positioned over the top metal
screen portion of your terrarium and NOT over any glass, plastic
parts, or other flammable material. Failure to do so could result in
a possible fire hazard.

Replace the first rubber stopper to secure the ring of the fixture’s
support tightly in between both rubber stoppers.
Ensure that the light’s focal point is not positioned above any
plastic parts of the terrarium or screen cover to prevent damage.

does not cover wear and tear parts. The warranty also does not
cover a product which has not been regularly and correctly cleaned
and maintained. This guarantee is valid only under normal operating
conditions for which the product is intended. It excludes any damage
caused by unreasonable use, improper installation, negligence,
tampering, or abuse of the product. For guarantee service contact
your local pet retailer or write to the representative in your country.
This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

Ce dispositif d’éclairage NE DOIT PAS être utilisé dans un aquarium.
Ne pas immerger le cordon d’alimentation, la fiche ou la lampe
dans l’eau ni dans un autre liquide.
Ne pas faire fonctionner un appareil dont la fiche ou le cordon est
endommagé.
Ne pas essayer de réparer la lampe soi-même. Si elle est
endommagée, la retourner à un service de réparations autorisé
ou la jeter.
Ne pas débrancher la lampe en tirant sur le cordon d’alimentation.
Pour la débrancher, prendre la fiche entre les doigts et non le
cordon d’alimentation.
Ne pas manipuler la fiche ni la lampe avec les mains mouillées.
Surfaces chaudes. Éviter le contact avec la lampe
pendant qu’elle fonctionne.

S’assurer que la lampe Wire Light est solidement fixée au cadre
supérieur du terrarium.

Mode d’emploi
Cette lampe ne doit pas être utilisée par des personnes (y
compris des enfants) aux capacités physiques ou mentales
réduites, à moins qu’elles ne soient placées sous la supervision
d’une personne chargée de leur sécurité ou qu’elles en aient
reçu les directives nécessaires à l’utilisation de cet appareil.
Toujours surveiller les enfants pour les empêcher de jouer avec
cette lampe.
Un court cordon d’alimentation est fourni pour réduire les
risques de trébuchement, qui surviennent habituellement avec
un long cordon.
Si une rallonge est utilisée, le calibre indiqué doit être au moins
aussi élevé que celui de la lampe. Si la rallonge électrique est
longue, elle ne doit pas tomber sur le comptoir ni sur
la table, car des enfants pourraient tirer dessus ou
trébucher involontairement.
(pour l’Amérique du Nord seulement) : Cette lampe
a une fiche polarisée (une broche est plus large que l’autre).
Afin de réduire le risque de choc électrique, la fiche n’entrera
dans une prise polarisée que d’une seule façon. Si la fiche
ne peut être insérée complètement dans la prise, l’insérer de
l’autre côté. Si elle n’entre toujours pas, prendre contact avec
un électricien qualifié pour qu’il installe une prise polarisée
convenable. Ne pas essayer de modifier la fiche ni la prise
d’aucune façon.
La lampe Wire Light Exo Terra®est munie d’une douille en porcelaine
résistante à la chaleur conçue pour soutenir une puissance pouvant
atteindre 250 W. Il est préférable de l’utiliser avec des ampoules
Heat Wave (émetteurs de chaleur en céramique), des ampoules au
mercure et tous types d’ampoules incandescentes ordinaires. La
corbeille de protection prévient l’accumulation de chaleur inutile.
Combinez la lampe Wire Light au support pour dôme d’éclairage
Light Bracket Exo Terra®(PT2223) pour pouvoir la suspendre
solidement au-dessus d’un terrarium en verre.
Cette pince ne doit pas être utilisée pour installer la lampe sur
un terrarium, une étagère, un aquarium ou tout autre article en verre.
Attacher la lampe Wire Light sur le cadre du terrarium SEULEMENT,
par sur le verre.
Visser l’ampoule Heat Wave à l’intérieur de la lampe Wire Light
Exo Terra®(suivre les directives de puissance maximale en watts).
CONSEIL : Appliquer une couche mince de vaseline sur le filetage
de la base de l’ampoule avant de la visser. Celle-ci sera facile à
dévisser lorsque viendra le temps de la remplacer.
Attacher le support à pince à la douille de la lampe, la partie large
du support devant être autour de la douille (ajuster la vis pour
élargir le support au besoin).
