These app iances have been CE-marked on the basis of comp iance with the Gas App iance Directive
for the Countries, Gas Types and Pressures as stated on the Data P ate.
These Appliances MUST BE installed by a c mpetent pers n in c mpliance with the INSTALLATION AND
SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS and Nati nal Regulati ns in f rce at the time. Particular attenti n MUST be paid
t the f ll wing:
Gas Safety (Insta ation & Use) Regu ations
Hea th and Safety at Work Act
Furtherm re, if a need arises t c nvert the appliance f r use with an ther gas, a c mpetent pers n must be
c nsulted. Th se parts which have been pr tected by the manufacturer MUST NOT be adjusted by the User.
Users sh uld be c nversant with the appr priate pr visi ns f the Fire Precauti ns Act and the requirements f
the Gas Safety Regulati ns. in particular the need f r regular servicing by a c mpetent pers n t ensure the
c ntinued safe and efficient perf rmance f the Appliance.

resp nsibility f the Supervis r r equivalent t ensure that users wear SUITABLE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
and t draw attenti n t the fact that, s me parts will, by necessity, bec me VERY HOT and will cause burns if

SECTION 1 - GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The grill is c ntr lled by a flame failure gas tap and is
supplied with a wire grid, drip tray, cast aluminium
brander and drip tr ugh. The drip tray must be in
p siti n at all times when the burners are n.
Contro s Data
Burners
The grills are fitted with plaque burners. Tw burners
n the G1518 and f ur burners n the G1528. A P
suffix indicates Pr pane perati n.
Contro
Each grill c mprises tw c ntr l taps which have a
c mbined n/ ff and flame failure device.
Ignition
Burners igniti n is by means f a match r taper.
Governor
It is essential t fit the gas g vern r supplied when
using natural gas. This ensures that the gas input t
the grill is c rrect.

To Light The Burner
Pr ceed as f ll ws f r b th burners (G1518) and b th
burner pairs (G1528) -
a) Push in the desired c ntr l kn b and turn it
anti-cl ckwise t the HIGH flame p siti n.
b) H lding the kn b fully in, light the appr priate
burner/burner pair using a match r taper.
c) When the burners are lit, c ntinue t h ld the kn b
fully in f r 20 sec nds then release it. Sh uld the
burners be extinguished, wait f r 3 minutes and
repeat fr m step a).
d) The burners are n w n the HIGH setting.
e) F r a LOW setting, turn the kn b further anti-
cl ckwise t the LOW flame p siti n.
Note
All c ntr l m vement sh uld be preceded by PUSH-
ING THE KNOB IN.
Warning
IF THE BURNER IS EXTINGUISHED EITHER
INTENTIONALLY OR OTHERWISE, THE
APPLIANCE SHOULD BE TURNED OFF.
NO ATTEMPT TO RELIGHT THE GRILL SHOULD
BE MADE UNTIL AT LEAST THREE MINUTES
HAVE ELAPSED.
Turning The Burners OFF
T turn a burner ff, turn the desired c ntr l kn b
cl ckwise t the OFF p siti n.
Using The Gri
Pre-heating
The brander requires a pre-heating time f 20
minutes t reach maximum temperature. H wever,
t ast and ther types f rack-c ked f d can be
inserted 5 minutes after the appliance is lit.
Drip Tray
A drip tray is situated at the b tt m f the c king
c mpartment. This sh uld be kept in place at all times
when the burners are ON.
Warning
DO NOT DRAPE TOWELS etc. OVER THE
APPLIANCE WHILST IT IS IN USE. SUCH ACTION
COULD OBSTRUCT VENTILATION AND LEAD TO
OVERHEATING.

SECTION 3 - COOKING HINTS
GRILLING is a QUICK, SIMPLE and DIRECT meth d
f C king. Ideal f r a wide and varied list f Menu
items, HEAT is transferred fr m the s urce in direct
rays, (radiati n) n t the f d requiring t be c ked.

Using The Brander P ate
Note
Steak c king times are appr ximate, dependant
up n thickness and cut f meat. The sh rter time
w uld, f r instance, apply t thinner cuts f steak f

Using the Wire Grid
SECTION 4 - CLEANING and MAINTENANCE
C eaning The App iance
Warning
Bef re cleaning, turn ff and all w t c l sufficiently.
The appliance must n t be cleaned with a jet f water
and steam cleaned.
Dai y C eaning
Vitreous Ename Surfaces
Wash th r ughly with warm s apy water.
Important Note
D n t use pr prietary cleaners, especially th se
which may have a high caustic c ntent, n the
vitre us enamelled surfaces f this unit. This is
particularly imp rtant when the appliance is h t. Such
cleaners can cause seri us damage r disc l urati n
t the enamel finish, and nly a s ap r detergent
s luti n sh uld be used.
A uminium Brander
The brander sh uld be left under the full heat f the
grill. This will after a peri d, carb nize the spillage.

Wire Grid She f
Steep the grid in h t s apy water, rub with a pan
scrubber n stubb rn stains.
Stain ess Stee
Wash with warm s apy water. A mild detergent n a
cl th can be used f r stubb rn stains. Sides and drip
trays always rub al ng the grain, rinse with clean
water and dry with a clean cl th. The drip tray sh uld
be cleaned ut f all fat and debris bef re s aking in
h t s apy water. Rinse in clean water and dry with a
clean cl th.
Overhead Extraction Units
It is imp rtant that verhead extracti n unit filters and
their respective drip trays are maintained in g d
c nditi n. Excessive fat dep sits which c llect are a
seri us fire risk t underlying units as h t fat may drip
d wn and catch fire.
