1.1 Dear Customer
1.1.1 Preface T020419
Your new combine is a self-propelled harvesting machine. It has been designed to harvest, gather, thresh,
separate and clean grain and seed crops. The crop is stored after threshing and cleaning in the machine's
grain tank, and the straw is left on the ground.
This operator's manual should be used as a handy reference book, as it contains all practical information
about the operation, adjustment and maintenance of your new machine.
The combine has been designed and engineered for maximum performance, comfort and ease when work-
ing in a variety of crops and under varying harvesting conditions.
Prior to delivery, the machine has undergone a thorough inspection, both at the factory and at the dealer, to
ensure that it is in perfect condition when you receive it.
Periodic maintenance must be performed at the recommended intervals to keep the machine in good condi-
tion and ensure smooth operation.
NOTE: Read this operator's manual carefully before you start to drive and/or operate the combine, and pay
particular attention to the section on safety measures.
Keep the operator's manual within easy reach for additional information when needed.
The terms "left" and "right" should be understood to mean in the forward direction of the machine.
For more information on the combine, please contact your authorised dealer. He has specialised personnel,
original spare parts and the equipment necessary to cover any service needs.
NOTE:
–This machine has been designed and produced in conformity with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
An EC declaration of conformity is supplied with the machine at delivery (see the copy in the EC decla-
ration of conformity section).
–This book is published all over the world, and the opportunity to acquire the equipment shown either as
standard or optional varies depending on the area in which the combine is to be used.
The specifications may differ from those described in the operator's manual, depending on the choices
made by the customer.
–In order to provide a better view of a component or setting, some illustrations in this operator's manual
show a unit without standard guards or panels required by law in various countries.
The machine should never be operated in this condition. For your own safety, please check that
all safety guards are closed and properly installed before starting the machine.
–This operator's manual should be kept with the other manuals for the machine (e.g. for the table, table
trailer, guide system, etc.) in the space under the instructor seat, so they can be easily consulted when
needed.

We are working constantly to improve our products, and we therefore reserve the right to make changes and
improvements of any kind and at any time, without requiring these changes and improvements to be made
on machinery and equipment that has already been sold. The information in this manual relates to the current
situation at the time when this manual was written. All data provided may vary.
1.1.3 Optional Extra T020421
The combine is designed to work in a variety of crops and under very different conditions. Nevertheless, the
optional extras may be necessary in some cases to improve machine performance or to work in special crops
or under special harvesting conditions. A list of optional extras can be found in the "Optional Extras" section.
1.1.4 Spare parts and accessories T020424
The original spare parts and accessories have been designed specifically for this type of machine.
We can only guarantee correct operation and optimum performance when original parts supplied by the au-
thorised dealer are used.

Never use non-original parts or accessories. Some parts (e.g., transmission shaft, straw chopper and cutting
tables) require a CE certificate, which can only be provided by the factory or by subcontractors approved by
the manufacturer.
Non-original spare parts are not tested or approved by the manufacturer. Installation and/or use of such prod-
ucts may have a damaging effect on machine functions, thereby jeopardizing operational safety.
NOTE: The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by the use of non-original spare parts and
accessories.
It is not permitted to make any alterations to the machine, unless the manufacturer has given their prior ex-
press written permission.
When ordering spare parts and/or accessories (see "Placement of the type and number plate"), the model of
the machine and serial number should always be provided.
1.1.5 Warranty T020425
The machine is covered by the warranty set out in the applicable national legislation and the contract entered
into with the dealer.
In the following cases, the warranty is unconditionally voided:
1. If the machine has been used improperly.
2. If settings and maintenance have not been carried out in accordance with the instructions in this opera-
tor's manual.
3. If the faults are caused by the use of non-original parts or equipment.
4. If the damage is due to carelessness, negligence, improper use of the machine or improper operation by
the user.
If safety devices have been removed and/or non-original parts are used, the warranty is automatically
voided, and the manufacturer waives all responsibility.
The warranty applies exclusively to repair or free replacement of parts that, after thorough investigation by
the manufacturer, prove to be defective (except wear parts and tyres), as specified in the service record book
that comes with the machine.
Replacement and repair of parts that are covered by the warranty does not, under any circumstances, extend
the warranty conditions. The purchaser can only claim his warranty rights if the warranty conditions, as spec-
ified in the service record book, have been fully complied with.
1.1.6 Lubricants T020426
The dealer sells a wide range of lubricants that are specially made on the basis of the technical specifications.
The recommended lubricants for these combines are listed in the "Maintenance" section table.

This self-propelled, diesel-powered combine is intended solely for normal agricultural use in the areas for
which it is designed (examples of intended use: harvesting crops, grass seed, rice, corn, soy, etc.).
NOTE: Machine performance can be limited by various factors such as harvesting speed, weather and soil
conditions, and the type and ripeness of the crops.
Make sure that the cab doors are closed during operation of the machine. The operator and instructor, if pres-
ent, must sit in their respective seats with their safety belts fastened (the operator may not drive the machine
while standing).
Any use other than the one described above is considered to be non-appropriate. AGCO declines all liability
in cases of physical damage or injuries resulting from non-appropriate use. The risk lies exclusively with the
user.
The conformity and strict adherence to the operating, maintenance and repair requirements specified by
AGCO are also essential factors for appropriate use.
This self-propelled combine harvester may be used, serviced and repaired only by personnel having full
knowledge of its specific features and who are aware of the danger involved and the applicable safety rules
(prevention of accidents).
It is the responsibility of the owner/user to ensure that prescribed safety precautions and other general tech-
nical, health and safety and road-safety rules are observed.
AGCO disclaims all liability to any claim resulting from the fitting of non-approved parts or accessories or un-
authorised modification or alteration.
Customers are strongly recommended to contact an AGCO dealer in the event of after-sale problems and for
any adjustments that may be necessary.
8380 P and 8410 P
These models are designed to operate on level ground and with an even flow of crops into the combine.
These models are not designed to operate on hilly terrain.
8380 P AL and 8410 P AL
These models are specially designed to operate on hilly terrain and on firm ground. The Auto Level system
in front ensures that the combine stays level on slopes up to 12%.
Prohibited uses
Avoid using the machine for other tasks or purposes than those specified in this operator's manual or on
safety decals or other safety information that is provided with the machine.
The following pages contain recommendations regarding proper and improper use of the machine when
driven on public roads, when used in the field and during maintenance.
Many machine functions relating to safety are controlled by the software.
Do not modify or replace the software. This runs the risk of damaging the settings and functional logic of the
machine.
Such actions can lead to unpredictable or abnormal reactions, which can result in reduced operator and ma-
chine safety.
Only dealers are authorised to make changes to the software of the machine.
1.2.2 Directives and standards T020089
Machinery directive
This machine has been designed and produced in conformity with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. An
EC declaration of conformity is supplied with the machine upon delivery.
Cab noise level
In accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, specified noise levels are measured in dB (A) at the
driver's ear; cf. ISO 4254-7 An. B standard.

Noise levels are measured while the machine is stationary with the engine running at maximum speed, with
all cutting implements connected at normal operating speed, without material in the machine and with the
cab doors closed.
On these machines, the noise level only exceeds 80 dB (A) if the machine is operated with the doors open.
In such cases, we recommend using hearing protection in accordance with the laws of the relevant country.
Noise levels are listed in the following table, together with the noise levels for ambient noise (2009/63/EC):
Vibrations
In accordance with European Directives 2002/44/EC and 2006/42/EC and subsequent updates, the vibration
values to which the driver's body (seated part) is subjected are listed below. Measurement has been per-
formed using the most appropriate method for the machine while in operation.
The data above refers to the weighted square medium value in frequency (Bw in m/s²).
The vibration values are measured three-dimensionally at the operator seat in accordance with the ISO 5008
standard.
The measurements were made under normal working conditions. The operator seat complies with Machin-
ery Directive 78/764/EC and subsequent updates.
NOTE: Other factors that are independent of the machine, such as driving performance, handling, the phys-
ical condition of the operator and the work environment also play an important role.
Electromagnetic radiation
All the electric components of the machine emit an electromagnetic field that varies depending on the func-
tion of the component. A maximum limit is set for this electromagnetic radiation in order to avoid interference
and damage to machine operation and controls.
The CE marking on the machine shows that it meets the demands on electromagnetic compatibility, as de-
scribed in Directive 2004/108/EC.
NOTE:
–All types of accessories installed on the machine that are not manufactured by AGCO must bear the CE
labelling.
–The maximum power (Watt) of the accessories must not exceed the limits laid down by the national au-
thorities.
–The electromagnetic field emitted by the electronic components of the machine must not exceed the
maximum limit of 24 V/m.
1.2.3 Statutory requirements T020094
The combine can be equipped with special guards or other safety and alignment devices, as prescribed by
national legislation or local regulations.
Some of these rules require an active effort on the part of the operator in order to ensure that the safety de-
vices are working properly and in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer.
At the local level, there may be additional regulations that the user must adhere to.

1.3.1 Combine CE markings, type and number plates T020436
The combine and key components are identified by serial numbers and/or production codes.
Placement of the various identification data is illustrated below.
NOTE: Always provide the dealer with the identification data of the machine when ordering parts or service.
Combine CE markings and type plates
The CE marking (1) is located next to the approval
plate and attests that the combine is manufactured
in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
as well as Directive 2004/108/EC.
This plate displays the following:
– Year of production
– Model year
–Product
– Combine serial number
– Commercial name or type
– Total weight (normal equipment)
– Rated engine output
– Maximum towing weight in Nm
– Maximum vertical weight on the trailer hitch in
Nm
In certain countries (e.g. Russia), these two plates
are located next to another decal/plate, which corre-
sponds to the type approval for the country in ques-
tion.
The manufacturer type plate (2), which is mandatory
in all countries (or (3) only mandatory in France), is
located on the outer right-hand side of the operator
platform and contains the following information:
– Combine serial number
– Type
– Combine harvester version no.
– Maximum permitted total weight
– Total Weight (on both axles, individually and to-
gether)

The engine can be identified by an information plate
(1) (circled) located at the centre of the engine
block.

– Valve clearance
– Customer code
– Idle speed
