1Benutzerhinweise
Der Soft Stop Typ SPC10-POT-...-2 dient bestimmungsgemäß
zum Einbau in eine Maschine bzw. eine automa-
tisierungstechnische Anlage. In Verbindung mit zulässigen An-
trieben (z. B. Zylinder vom Typ DGP(L)-...) und Meßsystemen
(z. B. Typ MLO-POT-...-...) sowie einem Proportional-Wegeventil
Typ MPYE-5-... ermöglicht der SPC10 die schnelle Fahrt in zwei
durch Festanschläge eingestellte Endlagen. Die Endlagendämp-
fung erfolgt elektronisch geregelt.
Ausführliche Informationen zum SPC10, insbesondere über zu-
lässige Ventil-Antrieb-Meßsystem-Kombinationen finden Sie in
der Beschreibung zum SPC10 (Typ P.BE-SPC10-...).
VORSICHT:
Diese Kurzübersicht richtet sich nur an Anwender, die mit
dem SPC10 vertraut sind.
Beachten Sie unbedingt die sicherheitstechnischen Hinweise
in der Beschreibung zum SPC10, Typ P.BE-SPC10-...
HINWEIS:
Schalten Sie immer zuerst die Betriebsspannungsver-
sorgung und dann erst die Druckluftversorgung ein.
Schalten Sie vor Installations- und Wartungsarbeiten folgen-
de Energiequellen gleichzeitig oder in folgender Reihenfolge
aus:
1. Druckluftversorgung
2. Betriebsspannungsversorgung des SPC10.

3Montage und pneumatische Installation
SPC10 mit beiliegenden Haltewinkeln senkrecht oder waagrecht
auf einer ebenen Fläche montieren. Hierzu mindestens 3
Schrauben (M4) verwenden.
Druckluft / Wartungseinheit
•5 bis 7 bar, trocken, ungeölt, 5 µm-Filterpatrone.
•Max. Druckluftschwankung am MPYE-5-... ±1 bar.
•Ausreichend großer Normalnenndurchfluß
(Richtwert: 2-facher Normalnenndurchfluß des Ventils).
•Feinstfilter, wenn geringer Ölnebel nicht zu vermeiden.
Proportional-Wegeventil (Typ MPYE-5-...)
•Montage und Verschlauchung symmetrisch zur Antriebsmit-
te. Auf bewegten Teilen MPYE-5-... quer zur Bewegungs-
richtung montieren.
•Schalldämpfer mit großem Nenndurchfluß (z. B. U-1/8) mon-
tieren, Schlauchlänge max. 1 m.
Druckluftschläuche und Verschraubungen
•Verschlauchung Ventil-Antrieb symmetrisch ausführen:
Schlauchlänge = Antriebslänge.
•Dimensionierung entsprechend Nenngröße von Wartungs-
einheit, Proportional-Wegeventil und Antrieb.
•Wenn Winkelverschraubungen nicht vermeidbar, Steckver-
schraubungen aus der Quick Star-Reihe verwenden.
•Keine Drosseln in der Zuluftleitung verwenden.

Antrieb und Meßsystem
•Nur zulässige, von Festo für den SPC10 freigegebene An-
triebs-Meßsystem-Kombinationen verwenden.
•Zulässige Einbaulage beachten.
•Meßsystem symmetrisch zum Hub des Antriebs montieren.
•Antrieb, Führung und Meßsystem in Bewegungsrichtung
spielfrei und gut fluchtend montieren.
Speziell bei Antrieb Typ DGPL-...-...-KF oder DGP-... mit pas-
sender Führung):
•Beidseitige Luftversorgung, Stellschrauben für die interne
Endlagendämpfung (PPV) ganz aufdrehen.
•Meßsystem mit gleicher Hublänge verwenden.
Speziell bei Meßsystem Typ MLO-POT-...-TFL:
•Meßsystem elektrisch isoliert montieren.
•Bei staubiger bzw. verschmutzter Umgebung Meßsystem mit
Betätigungsschlitten nach unten montieren.
Speziell bei Meßsystem Typ MLO-POT-...-LWG:
•Zur Erdung Masseband an Flachstecker des Meßsystems
mit Erdungsanschluß am SPC10 verbinden.
Festanschläge
•Arbeitshub durch Festanschläge begrenzen. Bei Antrieben
vom Typ DGP(L)-... sollte der Arbeitshub nicht in den Be-
reich der internen Endlagendämpfung (PPV) hineinragen.
Massenlast
•Zulässige Massenlast spielfrei befestigen.

5Inbetriebnahme
VORSICHT:
Um Schäden durch ungedämpfte Fahrt in die Endlagen zu
vermeiden, bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme, nach Verstellen
der Festanschläge, Verstellen der DIL-Schalter oder Aus-
tausch von Komponenten wie folgt vorgehen.
1. Sicherstellen, daß:
•Druckluft und Spannungsversorgung abgeschaltet sind
•an den Eingängen A und B ein 0-Signal anliegt
•die maximale Massenlast montiert ist
•die Festanschläge korrekt montiert sind.
2. DIL-Schalter entsprechend der verwendeten Ventil-Antriebs-
Kombination und Massenlast einstellen (siehe Beschreibung
zum SPC10, Typ P.BE-SPC10-...). Darauf achten, daß die
Schalter sicher niedergedrückt sind.
3. Betriebsspannungsversorgung einschalten. Initialisierung des
SPC10 abwarten (ca. 3 s).
4. Anschließend die Druckluftversorgung einschalten. Der Ven-
tilschieber nimmt die Mittelstellung ein. Der Antrieb kann sich
langsam in eine Endlage bewegen.
5. An Teach-Eingang mindestens 2 Sekunden 1-Signal anle-
gen, bis Teach-Vorgang startet. Beim Teach-Vorgang ver-
fährt der SPC10 selbsttätig den Antrieb und ermittelt so die
Position der Festanschläge sowie individuelle Eigenschaften
des Antriebs.
Während des Teach-Vorgangs blinkt die ERROR-LED. Nach Er-
löschen der ERROR-LED zunächst einige Fahrbewegungen
durchführen (siehe Abschnitt 6).

6Hinweise für den Betrieb
VORSICHT:
Um Schäden durch ungedämpfte Fahrt in die Endlagen zu
vermeiden:
– nach Verstellen der Festanschläge, Verstellen der DIL-
Schalter oder Austausch von Komponenten Inbetrieb-
nahme erneut durchführen
– zulässige Massenlast einhalten.
Antrieb gemäß folgender Tabelle steuern:
Ein-/Ausgang Beschreibung
Ausgang A Liefert 1-Signal, wenn Antrieb in Endlage A
(Meßsystemanschluß).
Ausgang B Liefert 1-Signal, wenn Antrieb in Endlage B
(gegenüber Meßsystemanschluß)
Eingang B 1-Signal (min. 20 ms) erteilt Fahrauftrag nach B
(wenn an Eingang A 0-Signal)
Eingang A 1-Signal (min. 20 ms) erteilt Fahrauftrag nach A
(wenn an Eingang B 0-Signal)
Ein Richtungswechsel während der Fahrt ist jederzeit möglich.
Fahrverhalten verbessert sich nach ca. 10 bis 20 Hüben selbst-
tätig (Adaption). Weiteres Optimieren des Fahrverhaltens:
•Prüfen des Systemaufbaus, Druckluftspeicher bei Druck-
schwankungen, Verändern des Versorgungsdrucks.
•Anpassen der DIL-Schaltereinstellung.
•Zur Reduzierung der Geschwindigkeit evtl. Drosseln in Ab-
luftleitung des MPYE-5-... einbauen.

1User instructions
The Soft Stop type SPC10-POT-...-2 has been designed for fit-
ting into a machine or automated system. In conjunction with
permitted drives (e.g. cylinder type DGP(L)-...) and measuring
systems (e.g. type MLO-POT-...-...) as well as a proportional
directional control valve type MPYE-5-... , the SPC10 enables
fast movement into two end positions set with fixed stops. End
position cushioning is controlled electronically.
More detailed information on the SPC10, especially on the per-
mitted valve-drive measuring system combinations can be
found in the user manual for the SPC10 (type P.BE-SPC10-...).
CAUTION
This quick reference is directed to users who are familiar
with the SPC10.
You must observe the safety regulations specified in the
manual for the SPC10, type P.BE-SPC10-...
PLEASE NOTE
Always switch on the operating voltage supply first and then
the compressed air supply.
Before undertaking installation and/or maintenance work,
switch off the following sources of energy either at the same
time or in the sequence indicated.
1. the compressed air supply
2. the operating voltage supply for the SPC10.

3Fitting and installing the pneumatic components
Mount the SPC10 horizontally or vertically on a level surface
with the aid of the support brackets supplied. You will require at
least 3 screws (M4) here.
Compressed air / service unit
•5 to 7 bar, dried, non-lubricated 5 µm filter element.
•Max. deviation in compressed air at the MPYE-5-... +/- 1 bar.
•Sufficient standard flow (reference value: twice the standard
flow of the valve).
•Microfilter if slight oil mist cannot be avoided.
Proportional directional control valve (type MPYE-5-...)
•This should be fitted and connected up symmetrically to the
centre of the drive. If fitted to moving parts, the MPYE-5-...
should be mounted at right angles to the direction of move-
ment.
•Fit silencers with large rated flow (e.g. U-1/8), maximum
length of tubing 1 m.
Compressed air tubing and screw connectors
•Tubing for valve drive must be symmetrical:
tubing length = drive length.
•Dimensions corresponding to rated size of the service unit,
the proportional directional control valve and the drive.
•If angled connectors cannot be avoided, use plug
connectors from the Quick Star series.
•Do not use any restrictors in the supply tubing.

Drive and measuring system
•Use only reliable drive measuring system combinations for
the SPC10 approved of by Festo.
•Observe the permitted fitting position.
•Fit measuring system symmetrical to stroke of drive.
•Fit drive, guide and measuring system free of play and flush
in direction of movement.
Specially for drive type DGPL-...-...-KF or DGP-... with suitable
guide:
•Bilateral air supply, open up completely the adjusting screws
for the internal end position cushioning (PPV)
•Use measuring system with same stroke length.
Specially for measuring system type MLO-POT-...-TFL:
•Fit measuring system electrically isolated.
•In dusty or dirty environments the measuring system must
be fitted with the actuating slide facing downwards
Specially for measuring system type MLO-POT-...-LWG:
•In order to earth, connect ground cable on the flat plug of the
measuring system with the earth connection on the SPC10.
Fixed stops
•Limit working stroke with fixed stops. With drives of type
DGP(L)-... the working stroke should not project into the ran-
ge of the end position cushioning.
Mass load
•Fasten the mass load to the slide without play.

5Commissioning
CAUTION:
To avoid damage caused by uncushioned movement into
the end positions during the first commissioning, after
modification to the fixed stops, adjustment of the DIL
switches or when components are replaced, proceed
as follows:
1. Make sure that:
•the compressed air and the power supply are switched off
•there is a 0-signal at inputs A and B
•the maximum mass load is placed on the slide
•the fixed stops are fitted correctly.
2. Set the DIL switch according to the valve-drive combination
and mass load used (see manual for the SPC10, type P.BE-
SPC10-...). Make sure that the switches are pressed down.
3. Switch on the operating voltage. Wait for the initialization of
the SPC10 (approximately 3 s).
4. Then switch on the compressed air supply. The valve slide
assumes the mid-position. The drive can move slowly into
one of the end positions.
5. Apply 1-signal to teach input for at least 2 seconds until te-
ach procedure starts. During teach procedure the SPC10
moves the drive automatically and thereby ascertains the po-
sition of the fixed stops as well as individual characteristics
of the drive.
During the Teach process the ERROR LED flashes. When the
ERROR LED goes out, carry out a few positioning movements
(see section 6).

6Instructions for operation
CAUTION
To avoid damage by moving into fixed stops without
cushioning:
– Carry out commissioning again after modifying the fixed
stops, adjusting the DIL switches or replacing components
– use only the permitted mass load.
Control the drive as indicated in the following table
Input/output Description
Output A Supplies a 1-signal when drive is in end position A
(measuring system connection)
Output B Supplies a 1-signal when drive is in end position B
(opposite measuring system connection)
Input B 1-Signal (min. 20 ms) sends command to move to B
(if there is an 0-signal at input A)
Input A 1-Signal (min. 20 ms) sends command to move to A
(if there is an 0-signal at input B)
Change of direction is possible at any time during positioning.
The positioning behaviour improves automatically after
approximately 10 to 20 strokes (adaption). Optimize the
positioning behaviour as follows:
•Check the system structure; compressed air reservoir during
fluctuations in pressure; modify the supply pressure.
•Modify the DIL switch setting accordingly.
•If necessary, fit restrictors in the exhaust tubing of the
MPYE-5-... in order to reduce the speed.

El Soft Stop tipo SPC10-POT-...-2 está diseñado para montarse
en una máquina o sistema automatizado. Junto con los actua-
dores permitidos (p.ej. cilindro tipo DGP(L)-...) y sistemas de
medida (p.ej. tipo MLO-POT...-...) así como con distribuidores
proporcionales MPYE-5-..., el SPC10 permite movimientos rápi-
dos entre dos posiciones finales con topes fijos. La amortigua-
ción final se controla electrónicamente.

POR FAVOR, OBSERVAR
Aplicar siempre primero la tensión de alimentación y a conti-
nuación el aire comprimido.
Antes de realizar trabajos de instalación y/o mantenimiento,
desconectar las siguientes fuentes de energía; al mismo
tiempo o en la secuencia indicada:
1.la alimentación del aire comprimido
2. la alimentación de la tensión de funcionamiento del
SPC10.
