that are given. Keep the manual for future reference.
SECURITY AND THE EN IRONMENT
ELECTR CAL SECUR TY
Check that the current in the mains connection where the machine is to be installed corresponds to the
power supply of the machine.
To avoid damaging the equipment, electrical shocks, fire or physical injury when you connect or disconnect
the equipment from the power supply, pull the plug firmly out of the mains socket holding the plug, never the
cable.
Always do this with dry hands.
Keep the power supply cable far from sources of heat. Do not put heavy objects on top of it or change it.
Clean dust and dirt off the power supply cable regularly.
Do not open the machine; you could get an electric shock.
CAUT ON
While installing the machine, make sure it is switched off and unplugged.
Do not open the machine. Touching the internal parts is dangerous and you could receive an electric shock.
The machine must not be splashed or dripped on. Never place recipients with liquid inside on the machine.
Do not place anything inside the machine.
LOCAT ON
Place the equipment on a horizontal surface with enough space around it to allow ventilation.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources and excessive dust.
Do not place the machine near magnetic fields or static electricity.
Do not use surfaces which vibrate or receive impact.
Do not pile machines on top of one another.
VENT LAT ON
Never block or cover the ventilation slits on the machine.
Do not expose it to direct sunlight or place it near sources of heat.
PER ODS OF NACT V TY
When the machine is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
f you are using an adapter, take into account that it will continue using electricity even if the machine is
switched off. f it is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
THE ENV RONMENT
To save energy, switch the machine off when you are not going to use it for a long time. The machine could
contain substances that are harmful to the environment or human health. To minimize the effect of these
substances the machine must be correctly managed and recycled when you decide to dispose of it.
When you dispose of it remember: it cannot be thrown into a conventional rubbish bin.
f it contains or uses batteries, these must be disposed of separately.
The machine (without batteries) must be disposed of correctly. Put it in a container specially intended for the
collection of electronic and electrical appliances, at the dump or hand it over to the dealer when you purchase
similar equipment, so that the dealer can dispose of it correctly (at no added cost).

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SYMBOLS ON THE MACHINE*
The symbol formed by the expression “Class 1 laser product” written in a rectangle
indicates that visible or invisible laser radiation could be produced. Avoid direct expose to
the laser.
The symbol formed by a ray of lightening inside a triangle shows that the machine has
connection terminals or a circuit with areas with a current which could cause an electric
shock, even in normal working conditions.
The symbol formed by an exclamation mark in a triangle shows that the instruction manual
must be referred to for information on how the machine works and its use.
The symbol formed by one square inside another square shows that the machine has
double electrical insulation.
The European Community symbol shows that the machine complies with the current
European Union legislation, as well as its transposition to local legislation.
The symbol of a rubbish bin crossed out and over a horizontal line shows that when the
product is disposed of it must be done properly, placing it in a special selective electronic
and electrical equipment container or through a dealer when purchasing a similar product,
at no additional cost. t also shows that the machine was put on the market after 13th
August 2005 (European Community Directive 2002/96/CE of Electrical and Electronic
recycling, and its Spanish equivalent R.D.208/2005).
n accordance with what is set out in the aforementioned decree, FONESTAR is registered
in the RAEE (Registro de Aparatos Eléctricos y Electrónicos) in a special section RE
(Registro de establecimientos ndustriales), with the entry number 001851.

DESCRIPTION
- The model SM-1641UB is a mixer with 8 inputs , 4 stereo channels and 1 microphone. t is equipped with
an MP3 player with connection port for USB storage devices and SD card reader. t shows D3 tag
information in MP3 files. t also incorporates a bluetooth receiver to play music received from a mobile
telephone.
- t allows prelistening through headphones CUE with assignation from each channel and it has a crossfader
with direct assignation of channels 1, 2, 3, 4 or off. t is equipped with a 3 band equalizer per channel, effect
section with assignation from each channel and mono/stereo output selection.
- t is a mixer designed for use in nightclubs, discos, restaurants, shopping centres, etc, which require
multiple inputs, independent equalization per channel and MP3 file playback in the USB and SD ports.
CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
FRONT PANEL
1.- MIC: balanced microphone input, combo connector (XLR and 6.3 mm jack).
2.- GAIN: microphone input gain control.
3.- EFX ASSIGN: button to activate/deactivate the sending of effect to the
microphone input channel. f this function is activated, the LED indicator
lights up red.
4.- Tone control. Equalizer which adjusts the level of the bass and trebles in the
microphone input channel. Controls with a gain of ±12 dB.
5.- Microphone input channel operating selector:
OFF: switch the microphone off.
ON: switch the microphone on. The signal is mixed with the rest of the inputs.
TALK O ER AUTO: in this position it automatically attenuates the rest of
the inputs, to give priority to the microphone input.
Note: the LED indicator lights up in the ON and AUTO positions.
6.- CH 1 to CH 4 channels input selector They are used to select
the assigned input for each channel. t is only possible to
assign one input source to each channel.
7.- GAIN: gain control of the input in the corresponding channel.
8.- EFX ASSIGN: button to activate/deactivate the sending of
effect to the corresponding input channel. f this function is
activated, the LED indicator lights up red.
9.- CUE: button to activate/deactivate prelistening by headphones
in the corresponding input channel f this function is activated,
the LED indicator lights up red.
10.- LED input level indicators of the corresponding channel.
11.- Tone controls. Equalizer that adjusts the, bass, midway and
trebles in the corresponding input channel. Controls with a gain
of -32/+12 dB.
12.- Sliding volume control of corresponding channel level.

13.- SD: SD memory card connection slot.
14.- USB storage device connection port.
15.- nformation display.
16.- 12: start/pause playback.
17.- 3: stops playback.
18.- REPEAT: allows selection of repetition mode among S NGLE
(repeat one track), F LE (repeat file) or ALL (repeat all).
19.- 7: a short press of this button allows rewinding to the previous track. A long press rewinds playback
quickly.
20.- 8: a short press of this button allows forwarding to the next track. A long press of this button fast
forwards playback.
21.- USB/SD/BT: allows selection of audio source among USB storage device, the SD card or the bluetooth
receiver.
22.- OLUME: effect volume control.
23.- REPEAT: control to adjust the number of effect repetitions.
24.- Button to activate/deactivate sending of the effect. f sending is
activated (ON), the LED indicator lights up red.
25.- DELAY: control to adjust the time interval between the effect
repetitions.
26.- LAMP: BNC connector for 12 V lamp.
27.- POWER: LED mixer power indicator (blue).
28.- MONO/STEREO: selector which allows the master output (both
the balanced 2 x XLR and the unbalanced 2 x RCA) to act as
mono or as stereo.
29.- MASTER: master output volume control.
30.- LED mixer output signal level indicator.
31.- MASTER/CUE: button which allows visualisation in the LED
output signal level indicators of the master output (MASTER) or
the headphones output (CUE).
32.- ZONE: ZONE output volume control.
33.- BOOTH: BOOTH output volume control.

34.- Switches to select the channel assigned to each side of the crossfader.
35.- CROSSFADER: control which allows the balance to be made between the two channels assigned
in the two switchers.
36.- CUE/PGM: control which allows the balance to be made between the headphones output (CUE) and
the master output (PGM).
37.- CUE OLUME: headphones output volume control.
38.- Headphones output, 6.3 mm jack connector.

1.- POWER: mixer on/off switch
2.- AC socket. For the connection of AC mains cable.
3.- BALANCED OUTPUT: master line level balanced output, 2 x XLR connectors.
4.- MASTER: master line level unbalanced output, 2 x RCA connectors.
5.- RECORD: record line level unbalanced output, 2 x RCA connectors.
6.- ZONE: zone line level unbalanced output, 2 x RCA connectors. t has volume control.
7.- BOOTH: booth line level unbalanced output, 2 x RCA connectors. t has volume control.
8.- LINE 7: line level input for channel CH 4, 2 x RCA connectors.
9.- LINE 6: line level input for channel CH 3, 2 x RCA connectors.
10.- LINE 5: line level input for channel CH 3, 2 x RCA connectors.
11.- LINE 4: line level input for channel CH 2, 2 x RCA connectors.
12.- INPUT 3: line/phono level input for channel CH 2, 2 x RCA connectors.
13.- Type of input selector for NPUT 3, line level or phono level.
14.- LINE 2: line level input for channel CH 1, 2 x RCA connectors.
15.- INPUT 1: line/phono level input for channel CH 1, 2 x RCA connectors.
16.- Type of input selector for NPUT 1, line level or phono level.
17.- GROUND: mixer earth connection.

BLUETOOTH RECEI ER
- This model SM-1641UB allows MP3 files stored in your mobile telephone to be played if the device is
paired with this mixer’s bluetooth receiver module.
-n order to pair your mobile telephone with the bluetooth receiver, select the bluetooth option with the
USB/SD/BT button. With the bluetooth option activated in your mobile telephone select the RTL-32HS02
device from the list of bluetooth devices. At that moment, your mobile telephone is paired to the device.
- The playback options (playback, pause, previous and next track) are available using the mixer’s controls.
CONNECTION
- Before making any connections make sure that all the devices are switched off and disconnected from the
power supply.
- Check that all the sliding volume controls of each channel and the ouput level MASTER control are at
their minimum.
- Connect the required devices to the inputs of channels CH 1 to CH 4.
- n the channels CH 1 and CH 2, connect the line level devices (CD players) in the corresponding inputs
and place the type of input switch in the L NE position.
f connecting a record player, place the type of input switch in the PHONO position. n this case, if your
record player has an earth connection, connect it to the GROUND terminal in the rear panel of the mixer.
- Connect a USB storage device or an SD memory card with MP3 files to the corresponding port. Select
the position MP3 in the channel CH 4 to operate this function.
- f required, connect a microphone in the input M C 1.
- Connect the devices to the power supply in this order: firstly the peripheral devices such as CD players,
followed by the mixer SM-1641UB and finally, the amplifier.
- Switch on the devices in this order: firstly the peripheral dveices such as CD players, followed by the
mixer SM-1641UB and finally, the amplifier..
- Adjust the volume of each channel using the volume controls of each channel.

WARRANTY
This product has been tested and has passed the corresponding quality control prior to being put on the market.
FONESTAR guarantees the suitability of the product for its specified use during a period of 2 years from the delivery date
and commits itself to repair or substitute the goods as expressed in the Spanish law ‘La Ley General para la Defensa de los
Consumidores y Usuarios, Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007 16 Noviembre.
The lack of conformity in the first six months after purchase, due to a manufacturing defect, will be rectified with no more
than showing the proof of purchase. After six months FONESTAR reserves the right to demand proof of the product being
sold with that problem.
This warranty does not include damage produced by: inappropriate use or negligence, accidents, worn out parts due to use,
breakages, burns, spilt liquids or other substances, excessive humidity, battery deterioration and internal manipulation of the
device, the software or its components by unauthorized persons, and in general any use that is unrelated to the nature and
purpose of the product.
f any service is needed during the warranty period because of lack of conformity, please contact the business or distributor
where the product was purchased in no more than 2 months after being conscious of the problem. t is only necessary to
contact FONESTAR if it is impossible or imposes an undue burden for them to solve it..
To benefit from this warranty it is necessary to show the proof of purchase with the date clearly visible, with no corrections
or crossing out
