General instructions
Read these instructions carefully before
installation and use. Keep this manual for
future reference. During installation and
maintenance and when replacing the lamp
the heater should always be disconnected
from the power supply.
The element of IRC15 is a halogen lamp that
is operating at about 2200 ºC. The expected
lifetime of the lamp is depending on the
ambient temperature and where the heater
is installed. When it is mounted airy and
outdoor the lamp will live longer.
The guarantee is only valid if the heater is
installed and used in a way that is described
in this instruction.
Application area
This infrared heater is tested and approved
according to the EMC- and LVD regulations
and is CE compliant. Thanks to the high
protection class IPX5 it is also suitable for
installation outdoors and under other damp
and wet conditions.
Normally IRC15 is used to give comfort for
people in the area in front of or under the
heater, but it can also be used for drying. The
wet surface will be heated by the radiation
and the evaporation goes faster.
In winter IRC15 also can be used for
defrosting purposes.
Mounting
After unpacking make sure that the-
appliance is complete and shows no signs
of visible damage.
Make sure that the voltage is the same as-
indicated on the rating label.
IRC15 must be mounted at least 1,8 m-
above the floor. Recommended installation
height is 2.10 to 2.70 meters.
Never install Helios TOP on an-
inflammable surface or facing an
inflammable surface.
Enclosed in the package there is a wall-
bracket. Make sure that the wall is firm
and that proper screws are used.
Aim the reflector in the direction required-
for the wall-mounted installation. The
normal angle is 45° to the horizontal
plane.
Helios TOP must be placed at a clear-
distance (line of vision) of not less
than 2.0 metres from objects such as
cardboard, fabrics etc
and windows.-
If used in workshops and garages where-
there are inflammable paints or fuels,
Helios TOP must be located more than 4.0
metres from the hazard.
We recommend that the heater should-
not be used in non-ventilated dusty
environments to avoid damage to the
bulb.
The best comfort is experienced when a-
person is heated from two directions.
Following important notes must be followed:
- The heater should always be installed
horizontally and only by using the brackets
provided.
- The heater must not be located directly
below a wall socket.
- The minimum distances according to fig. 1
at page 2 must be kept.
- Do not use the heater directly near a
bathtub, a shower or a swimming pool.
Electrical installation
The electrical installation should be
carried out by a qualified electrician and
in conformity with prevailing regulations.
Connect Helios TOP to a single-phase
220-240V power supply
The IRC15 must be earthed.
Safety
- During operation the surfaces of the unit
are hot! Make shure that no flammable
objects comes in contact with the heater
durong operation
- Always position the equipment so that the
halogen bulb is horizontal.
- The heaters are fitted with a safety guard.
This is intended only to stop large objects
from hitting the lamp. The heater must not
be operated with the guard removed.
