1 ABOUT THIS MANUAL
Fuji Elec ric Europe GmbH, looking forward o bring on he marke new solu ions for energy saving, has
developed a new s ar ing guide for he implemen a ion of FUJI - HYDRAULIC in hydraulic lif applica ions.
The aim of his s ar ing guide is o explain how o se basic func ions of FUJI - HYDRAULIC useful for
hydraulic lif applica ions. Main func ions are:
•Magne ic Con ac ors (MC) con rol.
•Sof s ar .

•Au o Power Limi (APL) func ion
1.1 FUJI - HYDRAULIC m in fe tures
FUJI - HYDRAULIC main fea ures are:
•Mul ifunc ional keypad as s andard.
•Buil -in EMC fil er (EN61800-3:2004, ca egory C2).
•Buil -in DC Reac or.
•Cus omizable logic.
•Two enclosure pro ec ions available: IP21 / IP55.
Thanks o IP55 enclosure and knowing ha EMC fil er and DC reac or are buil -in, inver er can be ins alled
direc ly in o a wall. I makes FUJI - HYDRAULIC a compac solu ion easy o ins all.
Addi ionally, hanks o he inver er’s vec or con rol, ride comfor is improved and energy consump ion is
reduced.
2 SAFETY INFORMATION
Read his manual horoughly before proceeding wi h ins alla ion, connec ions (wiring), opera ion, or
main enance and inspec ion. Ensure you have sound knowledge of he device and familiarize yourself wi h
all safe y informa ion and precau ions before proceeding o opera e he inver er.
Safe y precau ions are classified in o he following wo ca egories in his manual.
Failure o heed he informa ion indica ed by his symbol may lead o dangerous condi ions,
possibly resul ing in dea h or serious bodily injuries.

2.1 Applic tion

purposes.

2.2 Inst ll tion
•Ins all he inver er on a base made of me al or o her non-flammable ma erial.
Otherwise, fire could occur.

•Preven lin , paper fibers, sawdus , dus , me allic chips, or o her foreign ma erials from ge ing in o he inver er or
from accumula ing on he hea sink.
•When changing he posi ions of he op and bo om moun ing bases, use only he specified screws.
Otherwise, fire or n ccident might result.
•Do no ins all or opera e an inver er ha is damaged or lacking par s.
Doing so could c use fire, n ccident or injuries.
2.3 Wiring
•If no zero-phase curren (ear h leakage curren ) de ec ive device such as a ground-faul relay is ins alled in he
ups ream power supply line in order o avoid he en ire power supply sys em’s shu down undesirable o fac ory
opera ion, ins all a residual-curren -opera ed pro ec ive device (RCD)/ear h leakage circui breaker (ELCB)
individually o inver ers o break he individual inver er power supply lines only.
Otherwise, fire could occur.
•When wiring he inver er o he power source, inser a recommended molded case circui breaker (MCCB) or
residual-curren -opera ed pro ec ive device (RCD)/ear h leakage circui breaker (ELCB) (wi h overcurren
pro ec ion) in he pa h of each pair of power lines o inver ers. Use he recommended devices wi hin he
recommended curren capaci y.
•Use wires in he specified size.
•Tigh en erminals wi h specified orque.
Otherwise, fire could occur.
•When here is more han one combina ion of an inver er and mo or, do no use a mul icore cable for he purpose
of handling heir wirings oge her.
•Do no connec a surge killer o he inver er’s ou pu (secondary) circui .
Doing so could c use fire.
•Be sure o ground he inver er’s grounding erminals G.
Otherwise, n electric shock or fire could occur.
•Qualified elec ricians should carry ou wiring.
•Be sure o perform wiring af er urning he power OFF.
Otherwise, n electric shock could occur.
•Be sure o perform wiring af er ins alling he inver er uni .
Otherwise, n electric shock or injuries could occur.
•Ensure ha he number of inpu phases and he ra ed vol age of he produc ma ch he number of phases and
he vol age of he AC power supply o which he produc is o be connec ed.
•When using his produc in combina ion wi h a PWM conver er, refer o he ins ruc ions given in he FUJI -
HYDRAULIC User’s Manual.
Otherwise, fire or n ccident could occur.
•Do no connec he power supply wires o he inver er ou pu erminals (U, V, and W).

2.4 Oper tion
•Be sure o moun he fron cover before urning he power ON. Do no remove he cover when he inver er power is ON.
Otherwise, n electric shock could occur.
•Do no opera e swi ches wi h we hands.
Doing so could c use electric shock.
•If he au o-rese func ion has been selec ed, he inver er may au oma ically res ar and drive he mo or depending on he cause
of ripping. Design he machinery or equipmen so ha human safe y is ensured a he ime of res ar ing.
Otherwise, n ccident could occur.
•If he s all preven ion func ion (curren limi er), au oma ic decelera ion (an i-regenera ive con rol), or overload preven ion con rol
has been selec ed, he inver er may opera e wi h accelera ion/decelera ion or frequency differen from he commanded ones.
Design he machine so ha safe y is ensured even in such cases.
•The key on he keypad is effec ive only when he keypad opera ion is enabled wi h func ion code F02 (= 0, 2 or 3). When
he keypad opera ion is disabled, prepare an emergency s op swi ch separa ely for safe opera ions.
•If any of he pro ec ive func ions have been ac iva ed, firs remove he cause. Then, af er checking ha he all run commands
are se o OFF, release he alarm. If he alarm is released while any run commands are se o ON, he inver er may supply he
power o he mo or, running he mo or.
Otherwise, n ccident could occur.
•If you enable he “Res ar mode af er momen ary power failure” (Func ion code F14 = 3 o 5), hen he inver er au oma ically
res ar s running he mo or when he power is recovered.
Design he machinery or equipmen so ha human safe y is ensured af er res ar ing.
•If he user configures he func ion codes wrongly wi hou comple ely unders anding his Ins ruc ion Manual and he FUJI -
HYDRAULIC User’s Manual, he mo or may ro a e wi h a orque or a a speed no permi ed for he machine.
An ccident or injuries could occur.
•Even if he inver er has in errup ed power o he mo or, if he vol age is applied o he main circui inpu erminals L1/R, L2/S
and L3/T, vol age may be ou pu o inver er ou pu erminals U, V, and W.
•Even if the motor is stopped due to DC braking, voltage is output to inverter output terminals U, V, and W.
An electric shock m y occur.
•The inver er can easily accep high-speed opera ion. When changing he speed se ing, carefully check he specifica ions of
mo ors or equipmen beforehand.
Otherwise, injuries could occur.
•Do no ouch he hea sink because i becomes very ho .
Doing so could c use burns.
•The DC brake func ion of he inver er does no provide any holding mechanism.
Injuries could occur.
•Ensure safe y before modifying he func ion code se ings.
Run commands (e.g., “Run forward” FWD, “Force o run” FMS), s op commands (e.g., “Coas o a s op” BX), and frequency
change commands can be assigned o digi al inpu erminals. Depending upon he assignmen s a es of hose erminals,
modifying he func ion code se ing may cause a sudden mo or s ar or an abrup change in speed.
•When he inver er is con rolled wi h he digi al inpu signals, swi ching run or frequency command sources wi h he rela ed
erminal commands (e.g., SS1, SS2, SS4, SS8, Hz2/Hz1, Hz/PID, IVS, LE and FMS) may cause a sudden mo or s ar or an
abrup change in speed.
•Ensure safe y before modifying cus omizable logic rela ed func ion code se ings (U codes and rela ed func ion codes) or
urning ON he “Cancel cus omizable logic” erminal command CLC. Depending upon he se ings, such modifica ion or
cancella ion of he cus omizable logic may change he opera ion sequence o cause a sudden mo or s ar or an unexpec ed
mo or opera ion.
•If any abnormali y is found in he inver er or mo or, immedia ely s op i and perform roubleshoo ing, referring o he FUJI -
HYDRAULIC User’s Manual.

3.1 Conformity to the low volt ge directive in the UE

3.3 Protections
1. The ground terminal G should always be connected to the ground. Do not use only a residual-current-operated protective device
(RCD)/earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB)* as the sole method of electric shock protection. Be sure to use ground wires of recommended size
listed on page vii.

2. To prevent the risk of hazardous accidents that could be caused by damage of the inverter, install the specified fuses in the supply side (primary side)
according to the following tables.

3.5 Built-in EMC filter
FUJI - HYDRAULIC buil -in EMC fil er can be par ially disconnec ed in order o reduce leakage curren ,
avoiding unnecessary rips of RCD. To do so, E2 screw (shown in figure 2) has o be removed. Even his
screw is removed ca egory C2 and 2º environmen are fulfilled.

6.2 V lves control
In order o op imize he speed of he lif , valves con rol has o be se in he following way:
•UP direc ion ravel: Valve has o be opened during ll tr vel. Flowing of oil o pis on has no o be
limi ed. Inver er will modify he speed of he pump, and consequen ly he speed of he lif .
•DOWN direc ion ravel: No modifica ion on con roller side. Same philosophy han a classic hydraulic
lif can be used. Inver er is no working during DOWN direc ion ravel.
•MAINTENANCE ravel: Same philosophy han UP/DOWN ravel. Speed is con rolled by inver er in
UP direc ion, valve con rol during DOWN direc ion.
Following signals have o be given o he inver er from he con roller:
•UP direc ion signal.
•HIGH SPEED signal.
•LOW SPEED signal.
•MAINTENANCE SPEED signal.
•Safe y chain signal.

9.4 Auto Power Limit
Au o Power Limi func ion (APL) allows end user o adjus power consumed by he eleva or, in o her words
power consumed by he eleva or will never reach a value higher han he one defined in a cer ain parame er.
When func ion is enabled, inver er will reduce eleva ors speed un il reach (reduce) inpu power o he defined
value. Consequen ly, speed will depend on he load, so higher load means lower speed, and vice versa.

When inpu power reaches U29 (kW) level, inver er reduces ou pu frequency un il reach desired inpu

When his func ion is enabled, wo new accelera ion/decelera ion ramps are enabled in order o improve
comfor (E14, E15). If inpu power is below U29 level, APL is no ac iva ed, so consequen ly ou pu frequency
(speed) is no limi ed.
9.4.2 Deceler tion holding time during APL
When APL func ion is ac iva ed, ou pu frequency (speed) is reduced according o limi power se . This speed
limi can make a longer creep speed. In order o avoid excessive wai ing ime, wo differen decelera ion
holding ime parame ers can be adjus ed (U49, U59).
There are wo limi zones (Limi 1 and Limi 2). Depending on he ou pu frequency, limi 1 or limi 2 zone is
reached. If ou pu frequency is be ween upper and lower limi 1 (U44, U45), hen decelera ion holding ime
applied will be U49. If ou pu frequency is be ween upper and lower limi 2 (U54, U55), hen decelera ion
holding ime applied will be U59. If speed is over upper limi 1 (U44), or below lower limi 2 (U55) hen no
holding ime is applied.
This delay (holding ime) is applied when creep speed or re-levelling speed is selec ed. So, he main idea is
o keep curren speed (limi ed ou pu frequency due o APL) in order o no expend oo much ime in creep
speed. By means of his func ion, creep speed ime will be almos same independen ly of car load.

U49 and U59 holding imes are ac iva ed when APL func ion is enabled and ou pu frequency is inside limi
levels. Limi s are shown in able 14. In figure 10 an opera ion example is shown. In his case, because of
APL, ou pu frequency is limi ed o a value be ween upper and lower limi 1 (U44, U45). Because ou pu
frequency is be ween Limi 1 levels, when creep speed is selec ed, curren ou pu frequency will be hold
during U49 ime. As soon as holding ime U49 is expired, inver er will decelera e he mo or o creep seed.
