Before connectingcharger to mainsandbattery READ THEINSTRUCTIONS
CAREFULLY
SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:Skilled and authorised personnel onlyshall be allowed toopen the
charger.
Beforesetting the chargeratwork,the insulation of powercordand
charging cable hastobe checked.
WARNING: Follow the manual of thechargerand the battery closely.
WARNING: The batterychargermust be connected tosupplymainsbyaqualified
personal in accordancewithapplicablelocal and national codes.
WARNING: Check battery type and ratingsbeforecharging.
WARNING:Charge onlylead-acid type batteriesin awell ventilated area. Other
typesofbatteriesmayburstcausing personal injury anddamage.
Batteriesproduceexplosivegaseswhile being charged, thereforethere
must be neitherflamesnorsparksnearthe chargerwhile it isin
eration.
The standardcharger(IP20)istobe used in closed and ventilated
environmentsonlyand not exposed torain norsplashed withwater.
WARNING: Toreducethe riskoffire,install batterychargeron afloorof non-
combustible material, suchasstone,brick,concreteormetal.
WARNING: Forcontinued protection against riskoffire,orelectric
shock replaceonlywithsametype and rating offuse.
WARNING:The unit must notbe used byunskilled orunqualified personnel,
children orpeople withreduced physical and mental abilities.
INSTALLATION
Connection to mains
It isessential toconnectthechargertoamainssupplycorresponding tothe powerofthe batterycharger
installed and equipped withprotection fuses(seekWvalue on rating plate).
Makesure to earththecharger properly.
Connection tobattery
Weadvisethe useof bipolar standard connectors whichdo not allow reversepolarityon battery.
Check cableconnectionin theconnectorcontacts. In case ofconnection to apower supplyprotectedby
AutomaticCircuitBreaker,use onlySWITCHES withDorKcurve. Check mainsvoltage and adjustit,if
required, bymeansofthe adjusting terminalboard onthe transformer.
The abovecheck hastobe performed byskilled personnel only.
OPERATION
•Oncemainsand batteryconnectionshavebeen performed, thecardperformsalightingtestofallLED’s.
Then the green “BATTERYCONNECTED” LEDremainslit (constant).
•Inthestandardconfiguration the“AUTOSTART”function isenabled (asdefaultsetting):thechargerbegins
automaticallycharging 5secondsafterconnection tobattery.The Autostartstage isindicated bythe blinking
ofthe green“END OFCHARGING”LED,red“SAFETYTIMER”LED,and yellow “EQUALIZINGCHARGE”
LED.
•Ifthe Autostartfunction isdisabled,pressthe GREENbuttontostartthe charging process.The green LED
(“CHARGING”)beginsblinking,and itwill blinkforthe whole charging process.Tostop charging,pressthe
GREENbutton again.
•Afterthe initial charge stage the yellow “FINALCHARGE” LEDwill lightup.Then an electronictimerstarts
counting down the last three hoursoffinal charge.
•When the final charge timehaselapsed,the chargerstopsautomaticallyand the green “ENDOF
CHARGING”LEDlightsup.
•One hourlateran Equalizing charge will be performed(greenLEDblinking).
•Ared LEDindicatesaFAULT. Should it light up, pleasecontactservice.
