SELF-TAKING BLOOD PRESSURE KIT
MODEL 700K
CAUTION:
Please read all instructions before using this instrument to
take your blood pressure. Follow all CAUTIONS to avoid
damaging the instrument or hurting yourself. Talk to your
doctor for information about your blood pressure.

UNIT ASSEMBLY
Lay out the parts as pictured. The cuff should already be
folded through the metal D-ring. If the cuff is not pre-
folded, lay the cuff flat in front of you. Place the metal D-
ring on your left. Pull the end of the cuff through the metal
bar. If you fold the cuff correctly, the hook and pile material
faces the outside of the cuff loop.
Look at the drawing to help you put the unit together.
1. Attach the gauge to the tubing on the left.
2. Attach the inflation bulb to the tubing on the right.
3. Attach the single end of the Y-tubing to the stethoscope
chestpiece

4. Attach the double end of the Y-tubing to the binaural.

arm circumference
25.4-40.6 cm.

Connect each component securely to avoid injury and
instrument damage.
WHAT IS BLOOD PRESSURE?
Blood pressure is the force exerted on the walls of your
blood vessels as blood flows through them.
The heart is like a pump. When it contracts. or beats, it
sends a surge of blood through the blood vessels and pres-
sure increases. This is called systolic pressure.
When your heart relaxes between beats, your blood pres-
sure decreases.
This is diastolic pressure.
When a doctor takes your blood pressure, he or she mea-
sures both your systolic and diastolic pressures and records
them as numbers. For example, if your blood pressure
reading is 126/76(126 over 76), your systolic is 126 and
your diastolic is 76. The numbers are calculated in millime-
ters of mercury and recorded as 126/76 mmHg.
Blood pressure varies during the day. Factors influencing
your blood pressure include physical activity, medications,
and your emotional and physical condition. A single mea-
surement does not provide a true picture of your blood
pressure. You need to measure your blood pressure over a
period of time.

HOW TO TAKE A READING
1. Make sure you are seated with your feet flat and your
back and arm supported. Rest your arm at heart level.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE ALL COMPONENTS ARE ASSEMBLED COR-
RECTLY AND SECURELY. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT
IN INJURY OR AN INCORRECT READING.
2. Locate brachial artery by placing two fingers 2 cm above
the bend of the elbow on the inside of the arm.
3. Put your left arm through the cuff loop. Place the bottom
edge of the cuff approximately 1-2 cm above the elbow.
Place the cuff so that the air-pipes were over the brachial
artery.
4. The cuff should be wrapped so that it fits snugly and
stays in place. You should be able to place one finger
between the cuff and arm. Fasten the cuff by folding the
end of the cuff over the D-ring and press the hook material
firmly against the fuzzy pile material. Make sure the cuff sits
correctly.
5. Insert stethoscope ear-pieces into ears.
6. Put the chestpiece over the brachial artery under or 1-2
cm below the cuff.

7. Rest your arm on a table.
Relax your arm, and turn your palm upward. Ensure the cuff
is same level as heart.
8. Place the gauge in front
of you. Hold the inflation bulb
in your right hand. Close the
air release valve attached to
the inflation bulb by turning it
clockwise.
9. To inflate the cuff, rapidly squeeze the inflation bulb. If
you KNOW your normal SYSTOLIC pressure, inflate the cuff
until the gauge reaches approximately 30 mmHg ABOVE
normal SYSTOLIC reading. If you are unsure or do not know
your normal SYSTOLIC reading consult your doctor for the
correct inflation level.
CAUTION:
DO NOT INFLATE THE CUFF ABOVE 280 mmHg. YOU MAY
INJURE YOURSELF OR DAMAGE THE INSTRUMENT.
10. Slowly open the air
release valve by turning it
counter-clock- wise. Release
the air at a rate of 2-4 mmHg
per second.

11. Listen carefully for the appearance of sounds, watching
the gauge needle. When you hear the first appearance of
sound, it is your SYSTOLIC blood pressure reading.
12. Continue to release the air at a rate of 2-4 mmHg per
second. When you no longer hear any sounds, that is your
DIASTOLIC blood pressure reading.
13. Turn the air release valve counter-clockwise to release
the remaining air. Record your measurement in the record
chart. You should record reading early, (not to forget
values). Remove the stethoscope from your ears. Remove
the cuff.
NOTE: If you want to take another reading, you can reinflate
up to twice. Wait at least 5 minutes before measuring again,
to avoid inaccurate readings due to the engorged blood
vessels.
QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
BEFORE
1. MEASURE your blood pressure at the SAME TIME each
day.
2. RELAX for at least 5 minutes before taking a measure-
ment.
3. Remove tight fitting clothing from your upper arm.
4. DO NOT eat, smoke or exercise for at least 30 minutes
before taking a measurement.
DURING
1. PLACE CUFF at the heart level.
2. STETHOSCOPE CHESTPIECE covers the BRACHIAL
ARTERY.
3. INFLATE unit to proper level. (30-40 mmHg above esti-
mated systolic pressure).
4. DO NOT talk or move during a measurement.
5. DEFLATE unit at 2-4 mmHg per second.
AFTER
1. WAIT 5 minutes before taking another measurement.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
To protect your unit from damage, please AVOID washing
or moistening the cuff, dropping the gauge, or hitting the
surface of the stethoscope.
Your new blood pressure unit has been carefully checked
to assure reliability and accuracy prior to shipment and
use. However, as with any sensitive instrument subjected
to repeated use, we recommend that your blood pres-
sure gauge be checked periodically. When the cuff is
fully deflated, the gauge needle must within the accuracy

indicator zone. If the needle points outside of the accuracy
indicator zone, the gauge will give inaccurate readings. In
this case you have to bring the device to the nearest service centre
for calibration (address mentioned in warranty card).
WARRANTY
The blood-pressure monitor is guaranteed for 18 months
from date of purchase. This guarantee includes the
instrument and the cuff. The guarantee does not apply
to damage caused by improper handling, accidents, not
following the operating instructions or alterations made to
the instrument by third parties.
The guarantee is only valid upon presentation of the
guarantee card filled out by the representative of the sales
organization and its stamp and safety of the packaging.

íàñîñ. Êîëè âîíî ñêîðî÷óºòüñÿ, ïðèëèâ êðîâ³ òèñíå íà
ñò³íêè àðòåð³é ³ óòâîðþº ìàêñèìàëüíèé òèñê. Öåé òèñê
íàçèâàºòüñÿ «ñèñòîë³÷íèì».
Êîëè ñåðöå ðîçñëàáëþºòüñÿ â ïåðåðâ³ ì³æ
ñêîðî÷åííÿìè, òèñê êðîâ³ ì³í³ìàëüíèé. Öåé òèñê

ßÊ ÂÈ̲ÐÞÂÀÒÈ ÒÈÑÊ
1. Ïåðåêîíàéòåñü, ùî Âè ñèäèòå ñïîê³éíî, âàø³ íîãè íå
ïåðåõðåùåí³, ñïèíà òà ðóêà ìàþòü îïîðó. Òðèìàéòå ðóêó
íà ð³âí³ ñåðöÿ.
ÏÎÏÅÐÅÄÆÅÍÍß: ùîá óíèêíóòè ïîøêîäæåíü òà
îòðèìàííÿ íåïðàâèëüíèõ ðåçóëüòàò³â, ïåðåêîíàéòåñü, ùî
âñ³ ÷àñòèíè ïðèëàäó ïðèºäíàí³ ïðàâèëüíî òà áåçïå÷íî.
2. Çíàéä³òü ïëå÷îâó àðòåð³þ, ðîçòàøóâàâøè äâà ïàëüö³
íà 2 ñàíòèìåòðè âèùå âíóòð³øíüîãî ë³êòüîâîãî çãèíó.
3. Âñòàâòå ë³âó ðóêó â ê³ëüöå, óòâîðåíå ìàíæåòîþ.
Ðîçòàøóéòå íèæí³é êðàé ìàíæåòè ïðèáëèçíî íà 1-2
ñàíòèìåòðè âèùå ë³êòüîâîãî çãèíó. Ðîçòàøóéòå ìàíæåòó
òàê, ùîá ïîâ³òðÿí³ òðóáêè âèõîäèëè íàä ïëå÷îâîþ
àðòåð³ºþ.
4. Ìàíæåòà ïîâèííà ù³ëüíî îáëÿãàòè ðóêó. ̳æ
ìàíæåòîþ òà ðóêîþ ïîâèíåí ïðîõîäèòè ëèøå îäèí
ïàëåöü. Çàô³êñóéòå ìàíæåòó, ïåðåãíóâøè ¿¿ ÷åðåç
ìåòàëåâå ê³ëüöå, òà çàñò³áíóâøè ëèïó÷êó. Ïåðåêîíàéòåñü,
ùî ìàíæåòà íàêëàäåíà ïðàâèëüíî.
5. Âñòàâòå îëèâè ôîíåíäîñêîïà ó âóøí³ ðàêîâèíè.
6. Âñòàíîâ³òü ãîëîâêó ôîíåíäîñêîïà íàä àðòåð³ºþ â
îáëàñò³ ë³êòüîâî¿ âïàäèíè ï³ä àáî íà 1-2 ñàíòèìåòðè
íèæ÷å ìàíæåòè.

7. Ïîêëàä³òü ðóêó íà ñò³ë. Ðîçñëàáòå ðóêó ³ ïîâåðí³òü
¿¿ äîëîíåþ âãîðó. Ïåðåêîíàéòåñü, ùî ìàíæåòà
ðîçòàøîâàíà íà ð³âí³ ñåðöÿ.
8. Ðîçòàøóéòå ìàíîìåòð ïåðåä
ñîáîþ. Òðèìàéòå ãðóøó â ïðàâ³é
ðóö³. Çàêðèéòå ïîâ³òðÿíèé
êëàïàí, ðîçòàøîâàíèé íà

9. Ùîá íàêà÷àòè ìàíæåòó, ð³âíîì³ðíî ñòèñêàéòå ãðóøó

ÑÈÑÒÎ˲×ÍÎÃÎ òèñêó, íàêà÷óéòå ìàíæåòó äî òèõ ï³ð,

11. Óâàæíî ñëóõàéòå òîíè êð³çü ñòåòîñêîï ³
ñïîñòåð³ãàéòå çà ñòð³ëêîþ ìàíîìåòðà. Êîëè Âè
ïî÷óºòå ïåðøèé ÷³òêèé çâóê, öå çíà÷åííÿ º âåëè÷èíîþ
ÑÈÑÒÎ˲×ÍÎÃÎ àðòåð³àëüíîãî òèñêó.
12. Ïðîäîâæóéòå âèïóñêàòè ïîâ³òðÿ ç³ øâèäê³ñòþ
2-4 ìì ðò. ñò. â ñåêóíäó. Êîëè äîñÿãíóòî çíà÷åííÿ
IJÀÑÒÎ˲×ÍÎÃÎ àðòåð³àëüíîãî òèñêó, çâóê áèòòÿ
ïåðåñòຠáóòè â³ä÷óòíèì.
13. ³äêðèéòå ïîâ³òðÿíèé êëàïàí, ïîâåðòàþ÷è ´âèíò
ïðîòè ãîäèííèêîâî¿ ñòð³ëêè, ùîá ïîâí³ñòþ âèïóñòèòè
ïîâ³òðÿ ç ìàíæåòè. Âíåñ³òü îòðèìàí³ ïîêàçíèêè â
æóðíàë. Çàïèñóâàòè ðåçóëüòàòè íåîáõ³äíî â³äðàçó
ï³ñëÿ âèì³ðþâàííÿ (ùîá íå çàáóòè ïîêàçíèêè). Çí³ì³òü
ñòåòîñêîï. Çí³ì³òü ìàíæåòó.
ÏÐÈ̲ÒÊÀ: ßêùî âè õî÷åòå âèì³ðÿòè òèñê ïîâòîðíî,
âè ìîæåòå íàêà÷àòè ìàíæåòó âäðóãå. Ïðè ïîâòîðíèõ
âèì³ðþâàííÿõ êðîâ çàñòîþºòüñÿ â ðóö³, ùî ìîæå
ïðèçâåñòè äî íåïðàâèëüíèõ ðåçóëüòàò³â âèì³ðþâàííÿ.
Äëÿ òîãî, ùîá âèì³ðþâàííÿ â³äáóâàëèñÿ êîðåêòíî,
ïîâòîðíå âèì³ðþâàííÿ ñë³ä âèêîíóâàòè ëèøå ï³ñëÿ ïàóçè
â 5 õâèëèí.
