3.1General information and setup
After transporting the scale from a cold place to warm room let it rest for 15 minutes
without power supply to avoid damages at electronic components due to condensation.
Place the scale on a solid and level ground. Soft ground (carpet) or a table that bends if a
heavy weight is placed on the board, can cause wrong results.
The scale needs a power supply of 6V, either by theAC-adapter or by 4 * 1,5V battery.
If the adapter is plugged in, the power supply to the battery is disconnected. They can
remain in the scale, but also if used with rechargeable battery, there is no charge function.
Connect the display unit to the spiral cable that leads to the plateframe and fix the two
screws at the plug softly by hand. The metal mount can be used to place the display on a
wall, or to gain better visibility to the field of view of the LCD when the display is placed on
a table. When transporting the scale, we suggest to turn the wall bracket forwards to
create a protection of the LCD screen.
3.2 Keypad Functions
3.2.1 “ON/OFF” key:holding down “ON/OFF” key untill the display shows “ON”,
then the current internal voltage, scale range, at last, displays from “F----1” to
“F-----9” while performing a self-test.After a view seconds “0,0kg”appears.
The scale now is immediately able to be used for weighings of heavy materials like
parcels or persons, for this just place a weight on the platform. But please note that
after startup the scale needs a view minutes to reach its optimal operation
temperature and to adjust the electrical components properly. During this time, the
scale is not as accurate as it can be after about 15 minutes, especially for dosages
of tiny amounts. If the scale is going to be used several times each day, we suggest
to start it in the morning and keep it running with the display backlight on AUTO to
save energy (with deactivated LCD-backlight, the scales energy supply goes down
to about 0,5W and consumes about 1 € of energy if one year never turned off).
To turn off the scale, hold down the “ON/OFF”key till the display shows “OFF”, the
scale will turn off automatically.
3.2.2 “TARE”tare key: If need to tare, first place the empty container on the platform,
after stabilizing, press “TARE”key, the scale displays “0”. Then place the article in
container, at this time, it shows the net weight of the article. After removing the article and
the container, the scale shows a negative value of containers weight. Press “TARE”to
return to “0”.
3.2.3 “LIGHT” backlight key: Press “LIGHT” key to choose the backlight mode. “OFF”=
backlight always off, “ON”= backlight always on. “AUTO” = backlight only flashes on when
the weight on the platform is being changed and turns off after the weight has been
stabilized for several seconds.
3.2.4 “COUNT”count key: sampling of article by “COUNT”key to enter the counting state
(1) Choose the quantity of samples: To precisely count the articles, firstly the quantity of
samples for counting should be chosen in according with the weights of the articles. The
quantity of samples can be chosen from “1-10-20-50-100”. Those quantity has to be
counted manually. Note here: The smaller the items weight - the bigger the chosen
reference number of items should be to receive a precise result.
(2) Place the chosen numbers of samples on the empty pan, the balance will show the
total weights of samples. Then press “COUNT”, the displaying will show “1”, at the same
time, the right of the displaying show unit “pcs”, with indicate that scale is now in counting
state, and all the samples are one unit. Then press “UNIT”to choose the correct reference
numbers, you can choose between “1, 10, 20, 50, 100”. The quantity of articles and
samples must be the same.
(3) Now just add or remove further items, the scale will calculate based on the piece
weight the new amount of items. Press “COUNT”to go back to normal weighing mode.
3.2.5 “UNIT”unit conversion key
Press “UNIT”, the units can be changed between “kg”. “lb”. (1lb=453.59g).
3.2.6 Calibration /Adjustment
NOTE: The scale has been calibrated before shipment and comes ready to use. If the
scale once does no longer work correct and shows wrong results, you can use a new
calibration to adjust the scale again. A calibration can also be done, to adjust the scale as
good as possible to the local environment conditions at the place of use. For a calibration,
a preset adjustment weight is required (see table above). Without the correct adjustment
weight the calibration is not possible and leads to wrong results.
Turn on the scale by pressing [ON/OFF] without a weight on the scale. Wait until the
display shows "0.00".
Press and hold [TARE] key, then short press [UNIT]. The display shows “C XXX”(XXX =
the weight that is needed for this type of scale, like “C 50”for a PSB75 or “C 200 at PSB
300”), Release the buttons
Place the requested weight on the surface and wait until the scale indicates the value.
After about 10 seconds without weight change will show “PASS”.
As soon as you see “PASS” the calibration is completed successfully.
4. Setting menu
The settings of the balance can be changed in the setting menu. By the factory the user
menu has been set in a way that normally no more changes must be made, only at special
conditions of use. The balance can be adjusted to individual weighing requirements like a
faster reaction speed during dosages or to filter out more disturbances from bad
environment conditions if you use the scale mobile.
Overview:
In the off state press the [CAL] button and keep it pressed, press the [ON/OFF] button turn
on the balance. Now the balance is starts in the setting mode. The [CAL] button changes
the setting (C1 to C2). Press the [TARE] button to change the setting value (C1---0 to
C1---1). After all points have been configured, press [CAL] button again. Scale will save
the changes and reboot in weighing mode. the balance automatically into weighing mode.
a) C1 = sensitivity setting - values: 0 1 2 3 4
The lower the value, the faster the reaction speed and sensibility. A higher value
will create a mean measurement of several seconds and improve stability.
Filter 0: Setting for dispensing.
Filter 1/2: Sensitive and fast, for very quiet using location.
Filter 3/4: Robust but slow, for bad environment conditions or as personal scale.
b) C2 = filtering strength setting - values: 0 1 2 3
The higher the value, the higher the stability.
Filter 0: Setting for dispensing, every weight change will be shown in the display.
Filter 1/2: For the most use cases.
Filter 3: Slow but robust, best settings when only bigger items/parcels are placed
on the scale. Tiny disturbances that would change the shown weight in the
display are filtered out and not shown (but also tiny weight changes during
dispensing).
c) C3 = Automatic turnoff - values: 0 1 2 3 4 (only valid for Battery power supply)
0: disabled, scale will stay on. 1: after 15 min. 2: after 30 min. 3: after 45 min.
4: after 60 min.
After C3 press again the “UNIT”-key to save the changes and restart the scale in
weigh-mode.
