Only the enabled video inputs can be accessed by switching through the interface’s video
sources.Itisrecommendedtoenableonlytherequiredinputs.So thedisabledinputswillbe
skippedwhileswitchingthroughthevideointerfacesinputs.

1.4.1.4.Monitorselection(Dip6-8)
Dips6-8customizethemonitor-specificvideosettings whichsometimesevenvarywithin
headunitsofthesameversion,causedbydifferentmonitorspecifications.Itisnecessaryto
tryallpossiblecombinationswhileaworkingvideosourceisconnectedtothechoseninput
oftheinterface.Oneofthesixcombinationswillshowthebestpicturesizeandquality
(some maygivenopicture).Itispossibletofirsthotplugthroughthedipcombinations.If
thereisnochangeofpicturevisibleaftertryingall6options,retryanddisconnectthe10pin
plugoftheQuadlockconnectorbetweeneverychangeofthedipsetting.

2. Installation
To install the interface, first switch off the ignition and disconnect the vehicle’s battery.
Please readtheowner`s manual ofthecar,regardingthebattery`s disconnection! If
required,enablethecar`s Sleep-mode(hibernationmode)
Incase thesleep-modedoes notsucceed,thedisconnectionofthebatterycanbedone
witharesistorlead.
Ifthenecessarystabilized powersupplyfortheinterface isnottakendirectlyfromthe
battery,thechosenconnectionhastobecheckedforbeingconstantlystabile.
Theinterface needsapermanent12Vsource!

Connect the interface cable’s female 20pin connector to the 20pin connector of the
interface and connecttheinterfacecable’s male 10pin connector to the female 10pin
connectorofthePNPharness
Connectthesingle,yellowwire“BATT” ofthePNPharnessto+12Vpermanentand
stabilepowersupply.
Connect the single, black wire “GND” of the PNP harness to the vehicle’s negative
ground.
IncaseofamissingCANcommunicationbetweenthevehicleandtheinterface,the
single,white-blackwireofthe20pininterface cablehastobeconnected
additionatelytoastabile+12V accessorypowersupply.

Beforeafinal installationoftheperipheral devices,werecommend atest-run toensure
thecompatibilityofvehicleand interface.Duetochangesintheproductionofthevehicle
manufacturer there’s always a possibility of incompatibility.
Note: Theinterface cable’s greycolouredIRcableandtheaudioswitchcableareoutof

Thisinterface isonlyabletoinsertvideosignalsintothefactoryinfotainment.IfanAV-
sourceisconnected,theaudioinsertionhastobedonebythefactoryaudioAUX inputoran
FM-modulator.Theinsertedvideo-signalcanbeactivatedsimultaneouslytoeachaudio-
modeofthefactoryinfotainment.
Note:Thepink-andblackcolouredaudioswitchcableisoutoffunction!
2.5.2.After-marketrear-viewcamera
Some vehicleshaveadifferentreversegearcodeontheCAN-buswhichthevideo-interface
isnotcompatiblewith.Inthiscasetherearetwodifferentwaysofinstallation.Ifthevideo-
interfaceis able to detect an enabled vehicle’s reverse gear, the green wire of the 6pin to
12pincableshouldcarry+12Vwhilethereversegearisengaged.
Note:Donotforgettosetvideo interface’s dip5toONbeforetesting.
2.5.2.1.Case 1:CAN-boxreceivesthereverse gearsignal
Ifthe interfacedelivers+12Vonthegreenoutputwireofthe 20pininterface cablewhile
reversegearisengaged,thevideointerfacewillautomaticallyswitchtotherear-view
camerainput“Camera IN” whilethereversegearisengaged.
Additionally,the+12V(max.500mA) powersupplyfortherear-viewcameracanbe
takenfromthegreenwireofthe20pinconnectioncable.

2.5.2.2.Case 2:CAN-boxdoes notreceivethereverse gearsignal
Ifthe videointerfacedoesnotdeliver+12Vonthegreenwireofthe20pincablewhen
reversegearisengaged(notallvehiclesarecompatible),anexternalswitchingsignalfrom
thereversegearlightisrequired.Asthereversegearlight’s power supply isn’t voltage-
stableallthetime,anordinaryopenrelay(e.gAC-RW-1230withwiringAC-RS5)orfilter(e.g.
AC-PNF-RVC)isrequired.Thediagram belowshowstheconnectiontypeoftherelay.
Disconnect the green cable’s preconnected male-andfemaleconnectorsofthe20pin
cable and connect the green input cable “Reverse-IN” to the output connector (87) of
therelay.
Note:Notleasttoavoidshortcircuits,thebestsolutionshouldbe,tocrimpamale
4mm connector to the relay’s output cable and connect it to the green cable’s female
4mm connector.Theoutput-cable “Reverse-OUT” remains disconnected as it’s out of
function.
Connect the Reverse light’s power-cable to coil (85) and the vehicle’s ground to coil
(86)oftherelay.
Connecttheoutputconnector(87)oftherelaytotherear-view camera’s power-
cable, like you did it to the green “Reverse-IN” cable before.
Connect permanent power / 12V to the relay’s input connector (30).
