The 2.6kWh battery pack is ideal for New Build
and Social Housing Projects where smaller storage
capacity is required to start that can then be
increased over time. Due to its small and compact
design, it is suitable for installation in loft spaces
or hard to access areas. Can be banked together to
reach the desired capacity for the household.
Utilising lithium iron phosphate technology, our
batteries are extremely safe and can be installed
in a wide range of locations. The battery chemistry
does not contain any Cobalt, making it non-
ammable and the battery pack is 99% recyclable.

locations due to its compact design and can either
be wall mounted or oor stood.
This battery is primarily used in a modular way
ensuring the system can grow with the needs of
the consumer. Utilising lithium iron phosphate
technology, our batteries are extremely safe and
can be installed in a wide range of locations. The

The 8.2kWh battery pack is the most popular
Battery pack of its size for medium size properties.
During the summer there is enough capacity to
store up to 50% of your daily generated energy
(based upon a 4kWp PV system) and in the winter
the pack can deliver up to 80% of your daily
household energy (based upon a household using
10kWh/Day).

Introduction
Installation Requirements
Installation of all GivEnergy equipment must be carried out by a GivEnergy Approved Installer.
Unit Information
The Generation 1 batteries are designed to work with a GivEnergy AC Coupled or Hybrid Inverter. The
batteries work with renewable generation or import from the grid at o-peak times when prices are lower,
and discharge during busier periods when prices are more expensive.
Storing the Battery
The units must be stored in their original packaging at temperatures between -30ºC - 60ºC. Please note
that between -10ºC - 0ºC there may be reduced performance in charging and discharging. Do not stack
more than 4 units on top of each other.

There are no missing accessories from the packaging list
The model and specication of the battery’s nameplate match the order specications

Do not use the battery if there are any deformities, such as bulging or leakages
Do not puncture the battery
Do not throw the battery or use forceful impact
Do not attempt to repair the battery yourself (please call your approved installer)
The battery must be installed vertically, never install horizontally, avoid tilting the unit

SAFETY AND INSTALLATION
Place the wall mounting bracket horizontally onto the wall and mark the position of the bracket holes.
Drill 4 (Giv-Bat 2.6) or 6 (Giv-Bat 5.2 and above) holes at the marked positions, at least 75mm deep.
Fix the mounting bracket to the wall using the expansion bolts.

All electrical installations must be carried out by a qualied and registered electrician and in
accordance with the IEE Wiring Regulations
All GivEnergy equipment must be installed by a GivEnergy approved installer
Ensure batteries are always xed to the wall using the mounting bracket, even when the weight of the
product is on the oor
Externally mounted batteries must always be wall mounted above the frost-line or a minimum of 50mm
An earth bond must be installed between all batteries and inverters
Do not remove the front cover unless instructed by the GivEnergy support team

A 100A DC circuit breaker must be installed inline between the inverter and battery pack. Only one
circuit breaker is required, using the provided cable. The largest battery should always be installed
between the inverter and any other batteries.

If multiple Generation 1 batteries are installed, connect output B of the rst battery to output A on
the additional battery packs using a lug to plug cable.
If multiple Generation 1 batteries are installed, connect output B of the rst battery to output A on
the additional battery packs using a ring terminal cable. There must be no more than 5 batteries
installed. This is applicable regardless of the generation of the inverter.
Push the ‘On/O’ button on the right hand
side of the battery, the LEDs will light up.
