1.Applicationsandfunctions
Straightdirectionand centralizedenergyarelaser'scharacters,GPI-ZL21R,add
twolaserdiodebasesonopticalplummet,onelaserbeamthrough telescope.The
otherlaserbeamaredirecteddownthrough theplummet,it iseasytolocatea
givenreferencepoint.Thedesign ensurelaserbeamand telescopeaxison same
center,sameaxisand samefocus.Therewillbearedlaserspotonthetarget
whichyouaimed. It issafeforusertoobservelaserfromeyepiece.And laser
targetmakesyourwork moredirectlyand convenient.Otherwise, thereisalaser
targetsheetasstandardaccessories;itismoreconvenientformeasurement. It is
easytomeasurewithhorizontalcircle.Thedesign isportableand stable. It can
beusedinmeasuringsmallhorizontaldeviation, transferon verticaldirection,
measuring theobject'soutline. It isusedwidelyinconstruction,industry
installing, engineering inspecting anddistortionobservationaswellasmany
othersengineering survey.

4.Operation
4.1 Setting, leveling and centering
Setting up thetripodon themeasure-stationpointand
puttheinstrumenton tripodhead, then attach ittothe
tribrachbythecenterscrew.Adjusttheheightof
tripodto makeeyepieceonsamelevelwith sightline.
Adjusttripod tomakebubblecentering.Switchon
thepowerand adjustthefocusing knobtomovelaser
beamlocated theground markpoint.

Centering
(1)Switchonthelaserswitch,adjusttheplummetfocusing knobtomovethe
laserspoton thesamehorizontalplanewith ground markpoint.
(2)Loosenthetribrachclampknoband movetheinstrumentuntilthecenter
mark coincideswith theground mark point.
(3)Repeatleveling and (2)steps.Ascertainthatthecenteroflaserspotcoincides
withthemark pointwhen rotating alidadeofinstrumentto any direction.
(4)Atlastclampthetribrachagainand switchoff thelasertosavebattery
energy.
4.2Aim
Place thelasertargetonthetarget.
Turntheeyepiecescrewuntilthereticlecross-hairisclear.Thenturnthe
telescopefocusing knobuntilthereflectivesheetimageissharpandfree from
parallax,i.e.thereshouldbenoapparentmovementbetweencross-hairsand

targetasobservermovesslightly.Otherwise,repeattheabovestepsuntilthereis
noparallax.
4.3Upward
(1)Opticalplummet
Leveling theinstrument,maketheindexpointstozerograduation first, then read
outthefirstpoint.Thenrotatetheinstrumentthrough 180 and readoutthe
second point,taketheaverageofthesetwopointsasfinalresult.Repeatabove
step could keeptheaccuracyofsurvey.
(2)Laserplummet
Switchon/off
Switchontheupwardlaserswitch,onelaserbeamwill emit through the
telescope,focusthelaserspotonthelasertarget, readoutthepoint.Repeatthe
stepasopticalplummet,itcould keep accuracyofsurvey.Usetechniqueoflaser
plummetissamewith upwardlaser.

4.4Measuringverticaloutline
Place atripodaroundtheobject,and setup the
instrumentonit,adjusttheleveling screwsuntil
thebubblealwaysinthecenterofplace levelwhen
rotating instrumenttoanydirection.
4.4.1Opticalmeasurement
(1)Turn theeyepiece untilthereticlecross-hairsis
clear.
(2)Place alasertargetclosetoobject,and turnthe
focusing knobuntilthelasertargetimageisclear
onreticle.Thereshouldbenoapparentmovement
betweencross-hairsand targetwhenobserver
movesslightly.IfthereISparallax,adjustthe
focusing knob slightlytoremoveit.

(3)Movethelasertargetatregularintervalsonverticaldirection, and repeatthe
(2)procedure.Theverticaloutlineofobjectcan bemeasured.
4.4.2Lasermeasurement
(1)Turntheeyepiece untilthereticlecross-hairsisclear.
(2)Place alasertargetclosetoobject,adjustthefocusing knobuntilthelaser
spotonlasertargetisthesmallest,reading outthevalue.
(3)Movethelasertargetatregularintervalsonverticaldirection, and repeatthe
(2)procedure.Theverticaloutlineofobjectcan bemeasured.
4.5 Transferonverticaldirection
Inengineering ormining survey,inordertoestablishconnectionbetweenthe
ground and undertheground,theknownazimuthorcoordinateontheground
need to betransferredtoundertheground.Itshowsasfollowing. Asrightfigure
shows,theazimuthoflineABisknown, pointCand pointDonthelineABas

transferpoints.
(1)Setup theinstrumentinthemineand tum
ontheupwardlaser,movetheinstrumentuntil
thelasercollimating thepointC.
(2)Turnonthedownwardlaser,thelaserspot
ontheminegroundpointEisrelatedtopoint

(3)Repeat(1)tocollimatethepointDand get
thepointFasstep (2).
(4)ConnectthepointEand pointF,the
azimuth oflineEFissameaslineAB.
(5)Following theaboveprocedurecanachieve

5. Battery
Thepoweris2pcsAAbatteriesorrechargeablebattery.Replace thebatteries:
Theworking timeof2pcsAAbatteriesisabout10 Hours.
Pleasereplace thebatterieswhenthelaserlightbecoming dark. Theoperating
procedureisasfollows:Pushthefixing button on batterypacktowardsrightand
open thepackcover,takeouttheoldbatteriesand installthenewonesaccording
to theindicating ofpositiveand negativemark. Thencoveritproperly.
