• Replace a weak or discharged battery as soon as it is detected. Incorrect

Description
The 93-804 offers ACA, ACV, and Ωcapability for the electrical contractor or
technician. The low battery indicator data hold function and large LCD provide
excellent features for jobsite and residential applications.

Features (Figure 1)
(1) Digital Display — The digital
display has a 3-1/2 digit LCD
readout (maximum reading 1999)
auto polarity, over range indication
(“1”), decimal point, low battery
indicator (“BAT”).
(2) Drop-Proof Wrist Strap — Prevents
the meter from slipping off the
hand while in use.
(3) Range Selector Switch — Selects
the function and test range.
(4) Test Lead Slot — holds test lead.
(5) Trigger — Press the lever to open
the jaws. When the pressure on the
lever is released, the jaws will close
again.
(6) Data Hold — Press to hold the
displayed value.
(7) Jaws — Senses the current flowing
through the conductor under test.
(8) - Input Terminal — Ground Input
Connector.
(9) + Input Terminal — Positive input
connector for voltage or resistance. Fig. 1

Operation
AC Current Measurement
1. Set the Range Selector Switch to the
proper range (20, 200 or 600 ACA).
Note: If measuring an unknown current,
start at the highest range, then
adjust to the proper lower range
for best resolution.
2. Press the trigger to open the jaws.
Clamp around one conductor only.
Make sure that the jaws are firmly
closed around the conductor.
3. Read the value on the digital display.
Press DATA HOLD to hold displayed
value. Press again to release.

AC Voltage Measurement
1. Connect the red test lead to the + input terminal and the black test lead to the
- input terminal.
2. Set the Range Selector Switch to the proper range (250V or 750V).
Note: If measuring an unknown voltage, start at the highest range, then adjust to
the lower range for best resolution.
3. Connect the test leads across the source or load being measured and read the
display. Press DATA HOLD to hold displayed value. Press again to release.
Note: Voltage reading should always be taken in parallel with the circuit.

Resistance Measurement
1. Turn off device being tested. Discharge any capacitors. Voltage should not be
present.
2. Connect the red test lead to the + input terminal and the black test lead to the
- input terminal.
3. Set the Range Select Switch to the 2KΩResistance Range.
4. Connect the test leads across the resistance being measured and read the
display. Press DATA HOLD to hold displayed range. Press again to release.
Note: Resistance readings should always be taken in parallel with the circuit.
Never connect a source of voltage with the Range Selector Switch in the
Ω(ohms) position. Personal injury or damage to the meter may result.
Failure to observe this warning may result in severe injury or death.

Maintenance
General
• Keep unit clean and dry.
• Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Let dry completely before using.
Battery Condition
• Battery level is low when “BAT” appears on display.
Battery Replacement

1. Disconnect meter from item being tested. Turn
the meter OFF.
2. Position the meter face down on a clean, flat
surface. Slide the battery cover to remove.
3. Lift the battery out of the battery compartment.
Carefully unsnap the battery from the
connector.
4. Install a new 9V battery by snapping connector
to battery top. Replace battery in battery
compartment. Check leads so that they will not
be pinched when the battery cover is replaced.
5. Replace the battery cover.
Turn meter OFF and remove it from the item being tested before replacing
battery. Do not use the meter until the back is in place and fastened securely.
Failure to observe this warning may result in severe injury or death.

products will be free from defects in workmanship and material for their useful
life, excepting normal wear and abuse. This warranty is subject to the same terms

Descripción
El modelo 93-804 permite que el contratista o técnico electricista efectúe
mediciones de ACA, VCA y Ω. El indicador de batería baja, la función de retención
de datos y la pantalla LCD de gran tamaño son características excelentes que
permiten usar el medidor en aplicaciones residenciales y en el campo.

Características (Figura 1)
(1) Pantalla digital — La pantalla digital LCD presenta una lectura de 3,5 dígitos
(lectura máxima, 1999) con selección automática de polaridad, indicador de
lectura superior al intervalo (“1”), punto decimal e indicador de batería baja
(“BAT”).
(2) Correa muñequera a prueba de
caídas — Evita que el medidor
caiga de la mano mientras se usa.
(3) Selector de intervalo — Sirve para
seleccionar la función y el
intervalo de prueba.
(4) Sujetador de cables — Sostiene
los cables de prueba.
(5) Gatillo — Presione el gatillo para
abrir la tenaza. La tenaza se cierra
al dejar de aplicar presión al
gatillo.
(6) Retención de datos — Presione
este botón para retener el valor en
pantalla.
(7) Tenaza — Detecta la corriente que
fluye por el conductor que está
probando.
(8) Terminal de entrada negativo (-)
— Conector de entrada de puesta
a tierra.
(9) Terminal de entrada positivo (+)

Medición de corriente CA
1. Mueva el selector al intervalo
apropiado (20, 200 o 600 ACA).
Nota: Si está midiendo una corriente
desconocida, comience con el
intervalo más alto y después haga
el cambio al intervalo apropiado
para obtener la mejor definición
de la lectura.
2. Presione el gatillo para abrir la
tenaza. Rodee un solo conductor con
la tenaza y cerciórese de qué esté
bien cerrada.
3. Lea el valor en la pantalla digital.
Presione el botón DATA HOLD para
retener el valor en pantalla. Presione
de nuevo el botón para reanudar la lectura. Figura 2

Medición de voltaje CA
Riesgo de electrochoque.
El contacto con circuitos alimentados ocasionará lesiones
graves o incluso la muerte.
1. Conecte el cable rojo a la entrada + y el cable negro a la entrada -.
2. Mueva el selector al intervalo apropiado (250 V o 750 V).
Nota: Si está midiendo un voltaje desconocido, comience con el intervalo más
alto y luego haga el cambio al intervalo menor para obtener la mejor
definición de la lectura.
3. Conecte los cables de prueba a la fuente o la carga que medirá y lea el valor
en la pantalla. Presione el botón DATA HOLD para retener el valor en pantalla;
presione de nuevo el botón para reanudar la lectura.
Nota: La medición de voltaje siempre deberá efectuarse en paralelo con el
circuito.

Medición de resistencia
1. Apague el dispositivo que probará. Descargue todos los condensadores.
No debe haber voltaje presente.
2. Conecte el cable rojo a la entrada + y el cable negro a la entrada -.
3. Mueva el selector al intervalo de resistencia de 2 KΩ.
4. Conecte los cables a la resistencia que medirá y lea el valor en pantalla.
Presione el botón DATA HOLD para retener el valor; presione de nuevo el
botón para reanudar la lectura.
Nota: Las mediciones de resistencia siempre deberán efectuarse en paralelo con
el circuito.
Nunca conecte una fuente de voltaje si el selector de intervalo está en la
posición Ω(ohms), pues podría ocasionar lesiones personales o daños al
medidor.
La inobservancia de esta advertencia puede causar lesiones graves o
incluso la muerte.
