About these instructions
These instructions provide the basis for using the Easys 100 elec-
tromechanical opening system (referred to below as “system”)
safely and eciently. They are an integral part of the system and
must be kept in its immediate proximity. They must be readily
accessible to installation personnel and any later owner (referred
to below as “personnel”) at all times. These instructions must
be passed on to any new owner whenever the system changes
hands.
Personnel must have carefully read and understood
these instructions before attempting any installation
work and using the system. Working safety can only be
ensured by observing all of the safety information and
operating instructions provided in this manual. Also
applicable are the local health and safety regulations
and general safety standards with regard to using the
system.
Illustrations shown in these instructions are intended
to provide a basic understanding of the system and
may dier from its actual design.

1. Overview of the Easys 100 system
1.1 How the overall system works
Illustrated below is a typical standard configuration of the Easys
100 system.

Easys 100 is an electromechanical opening system that provides
the capability of opening kitchen drawers all automatically. The
system can be installed in kitchen cabinetry with appropriate
drawer and pull-out systems. The system is configured to meet
the requirements on the cabinet concerned or as part of overall
kitchen planning and then implemented to suit individual custo-
mer needs.
Sensing the pressure or pull on a drawer’s front panel, the draw-
er is triggered by the drive unit (1), leaving it to move out all
automatically by means of a drawer opening lever.
The drive unit is mounted on a profile set (2) that can carry se-
veral drive units at the level required for the height and number
of drawers. The profiles are mounted on a profile adapter set (3)
connected to a distributor (4) via a connecting cable. Drive units
and other system components (sensors, buttons) communicate
with each other via the distributor which also supplies them
with power. Power is supplied from a power supply unit (7) with
mains power cable (8). Holders (5, 9) are used to secure power
supply unit and distributor firmly in place. Buers for the front
panel (6) ensure the right spacing required between front panel
and cabinet body for pressing a drawer in to trigger it.

2. Safety
2.1 Use by specific groups of persons
The Easys-100 system may be used by children aged 8 or above
and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabil-
ities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised
or have been given instructions on how to use the tool safely
and they understand the hazards involved. Children must not
play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance work must
not be performed by unsupervised children
2.2 Safety information marking
Safety information in this instruction manual draws attention to
dangers that can arise from certain actions or the failure to take
specific action. They indicate the extent of any hazard arising
from the failure to observe the safety measures specified therein.

2.4 Intended use of the overall system
The Easys 100 system is an electromechanical opening system for
drawers and pull-outs in kitchen cabinetry that complies with
the safety requirements for storage furniture in accordance with
EN 14749 or EN 14073-74 or EN 16121.
Only these Hettich systems may be used as runner systems:
• InnoTech Atira
• ArciTech
• AvanTech YOU
• AvoriTech
In conjunction with custom drawers (e.g. wooden drawers) and
the following HETTICH brand drawer runners:
• Quadro YOU
• Actro YOU
• Actro 5D
Only components approved by the manufacturer (> „1.2 System
components“) may to be used to assemble the Easys 100 system,
taking into account installation limitations (> „5.2 System limita-
tions on installation configurations“).
The system must only be operated within the technical speci-
fications (> „11. Technical Specifications“) in dry indoor spaces
(5-40°C, max. 80% room humidity) and at an expected low level
of soiling.
The system must only be connected to a readily accessible power
socket by a qualified electrician in an easily accessible area or,
alternatively, to a switchable socket outlet in an easily accessible
area. The Easys 100 system must only be installed and started up
for the first time by qualified persons.
The opening function must only be triggered in response to a
brief press on a kitchen unit’s front panel or by pulling a handle.
It must not be activated more than eight times a minute.
The system must only be used if persons living in the household
environment concerned are aware of the dangers the system
poses.
Any other use of the system beyond this is deemed to be non

2.5 Intended use of individual components
2.5.1 Drive unit
This device is only intended for use as a sensor and electrome-
chanical opening facility for drawers weighing no more than 40
kg for Easys 100 systems. Two drive units can be operated side by

must only be operated with an Easys 100 power supply unit and
distributor in compliance with the specifications on the rating
plate.
2.5.2 Power supply unit
This unit is only intended for use as a power supply unit for Easys
100 systems. It must only be operated in accordance with the
specifications on the rating plate and only with the separately
available, country-specific mains cable and appropriate system
accessories. The maximum permissible number of components
used is: 6 distributors, 12 profile adapter sets, 27 drive units, 10
m of cable to the profile adapter set positioned furthest away, 6
sensors for tall fronts on 3 Y cables for sensors, 3 collision guard
buttons, 3 cables for corner solution, 2 extension leads, each for
connecting to one set of profile adapters.
The device must be mounted at the point of installation with
a power supply unit holder (> „5.5.1 Basic application with a
drawer unit“). Power supply units with power indicator must
be installed in a way that ensures the power indicator is easily
visible
2.5.3 Mains power cable EUROPA (EU) (type C),
Mains power cable UK (type G)
This cable is only intended for use as the mains power cable
for Easys 100 power supply units. EUROPA mains power cables
(type C) (art. no: 9104899xx, 9079710xx) must only be used in
the European area, UK mains power cables (type G) (art. no:
9104901xx/9079274xx) must only be used in the United King-
dom in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.
2.5.4 Profile set (power profile), profile adapter set, assem-
bly bracket
Profile set (power profile)
This device must only be used for accommodating drive units
as well as for connecting them to the power and data bus of an
Easys 100 system in combination with the set of profile adapt-
ers. It is not permissible to install more than six drive units with
dierent addresses.
Profile adapter set
This device must only be used for accommodating the set of pro-
files as well as for connecting them to the power and data bus of
an Easys 100 distributor. It must only be used at connection [4]
on a distributor.
Assembly bracket
This device must only be used for accommodating a drive unit
as well as for connecting it to the power and data bus of an
Easys 100 distributor. It must only be used at connection [4] on a
distributor.
2.5.5 Collision guard button, sensor for tall fronts
Collision guard button
This device must only be used as a collision prevention sensor
on an Easys 100 distributor. Merely one sensor must be used at
connection [4] (and no other) on a distributor.
Sensor for tall fronts
This device must only be used as an actuation sensor on an Easys
100 distributor. It must only be used directly at connection “6”
on a distributor or with a Y cable for sensors.
2.5.6 Distributor
This device must only be used for distributing the 24 V voltage
from an Easys 100 power supply unit to connected Easys 100
system components as well as for providing data communication.
Only the following components must be connected to the ports:
[IN 24 V]: power supply unit or distributor extension cable
[OUT 24 V]: distributor extension cable
[3]: cable for corner solution
[4]: maximum of 2 profile adapter sets with not more than 6

This cable is only intended for use as the mains power extension
cable for Easys 100 distributors.

2.6 Foreseeable misuse
WARNING
Hazard from misuse!
Misuse of the Easys 100 system and its individual com-
ponents can lead to hazardous situations:
• Never use the system with other items of furniture
or in non household environments.
• Never use the system in the open or at places
where exposure to water or heavy soiling is to be
expected.
• Never install the system in kitchen units that do
not meet established safety requirements.
• Never use the system with components and drawer
systems other than those approved by the manu-
facturer.
• Corner unit layouts and kitchen units with hinged
doors that protrude into the travel range of
drawers must never be configured without safety
guards (> „2.9 Safety guards“).
• Never fail to observe the requisite safety distances
when fitting kitchen units opposite each other.
• Never open or close several drawers at one and the
same time.
• Never use the system with overloaded, jammed or
damaged drawers and pull-out systems or without
drawers.
• Never operate the system from a concealed and
poorly accessible power socket.
• Never operate the system if specific groups of
people may be at risk.
• Never operate the system outside the operating
limits and system configuration specified in these
instructions.
• Never operate a faulty system.
• Do not use the system if small children aged 0 to 3
are present in the household.
• Never make unauthorised technical modifications
to the system.
If the system configuration is changed at a later date
after it is put into operation, the system must be
inspected and approved by a qualified kitchen fitter.

2.7 Work and danger zones
The interior of the unit in which an Easys 100 system is installed
is regarded as a danger zone, particularly the part that is in the
immediate proximity of the drive unit and power supply unit.
A user’s work zone is also a danger area and is located directly
in front of drawers and the area into which they open. When ac-
tivating the drawer opener, the user must keep outside the area
into which drawers open.
2.8 Residual hazards

Power supply unit and mains power cable involve the
use of voltage of a dangerous level. Improper instal-
lation and handling poses danger to life from electric
shock.
• Follow all installation instructions (> „5. Monta-
ge“).
• Only operate power supply unit from and connect
mains power cable to a power socket that has
been properly installed by a qualified electrician.
• Only connect power supply unit and mains cable to
an easily accessible power socket and keep these
clear at all times. Depending on the installation
situation, use a switchable power strip.
• Keep power supply unit and mains power cable
away from moisture.
• Never use a damaged power supply unit or mains
power cable.
• Immediately replace damaged components. Only
replace mains power cable with an OEM mains
power cable.
• Never open power supply unit.
• Never plug in mains plug without power supply
unit.
• When disconnecting the cable from the power
supply, always do so by pulling the mains plug and
not the cable.
• Do not plug in and unplug the mains plug with
wet hands.
• Disconnect power supply unit plug before attempt-
ing any installation and maintenance work.

If the drive unit is freely accessible when the unit is
disassembled or when drawers are removed, there is a
risk of injury on the opening lever, particularly when
the lever is returning to the home position.
• Disconnect Easys 100 system from the power
supply before attempting any installation and

Risk of injury from overloaded kitchen units or
improperly engaged drawers!
On opening them, overloaded kitchen units can tip
over, potentially leaving improperly engaged drawers
to fall out and cause injuries.
• Before activation, make sure drawers are properly

• Do not activate jammed or damaged drawers until
they have been repaired or replaced.
• Never overload drawers. Observe maximum weight
of drawer and pull-out system.
• Make sure the drawer opening zone is unobstruct-

The drive unit and power supply unit can heat up
during operation and start a fire if there is inadequate
ventilation.
• Make sure power supply unit and drive are pro-
vided with adequate ventilation at the point of
installation.
• Never cover power supply unit and drive with
objects or textiles.
• Only use Easys 100 power supply unit.
General hazards from using the system
WARNING!
Risk of injury from improper installation, start up
and maintenance.
Improper installation, start up and maintenance har-
bour the risk of injury.
• Installation, initial start up and maintenance work
must only be carried out by qualified kitchen
fitters.
CAUTION!
Risk of tripping over drawers in the process of
opening and from furniture left open!
As they open, drawers present a tripping hazard.
If open kitchen units are not properly closed again by
the user, they present a tripping hazard.
• When activating the system, be prepared for the
drawer to open and keep an eye on this process.
• Do not open several kitchen units at one and the
same time.
• Watch out for open kitchen units.
• After opening kitchen units, always close them by
hand again.
• If the system malfunctions, do not use it again
until it is repaired.
2.9 Safety guards
Mains plug
The mains plug on the mains cable is also used to disconnect the
system from the power supply.
Cable for corner solution
A cable for corner solution must be used to avoid collisions with
furniture positioned across a corner. This prevents them from
opening at one and the same time (> „3.2.12 Cable for corner
solution“).
Button for collision guard
A collision guard button must be used to avoid collisions bet-
ween drawers and a hinged door. This prevents drawers from
opening while the hinged door is open (> „3.2.7 Button for
collision guard“).

2.11 Reliable disconnection from the mains power supply
Before attempting any work on the system and in the event of a
fault, the system must be reliably switched o and disconnected
from the mains power supply.
Proceed as follows:
• Unplug the power supply unit from the mains power socket
Or when using a switchable power socket:
• Turn o switch on the switchable power socket.
• Make sure that no third party turns the switch back on again.
Or in the event of danger:
• Switch o or remove fuse in the fuse box protecting the
building’s wiring system.
2.12 Responsibility of the owner
The owner is the person who uses the Easys 100 system in every-
day kitchen routine.
• The owner shall undertake to use the system only as intended
and not to make any technical modifications to the system.
• The owner shall undertake to make sure the power socket
to which the system is connected remains accessible at all
times.
• The owner shall undertake to make sure children cannot play
with the system.
• The owner shall undertake to supervise children, other
vulnerable persons and pets if there is any risk of them not
being able to assess dangerous situations.
• The owner shall undertake to carry out cleaning and user
maintenance in accordance with these instructions.
• The owner shall undertake to set up the Easys system in such
a way that the opening force is limited to the necessary level.
• In the event of damage or malfunction, the owner shall
undertake to disconnect the system permanently from the
power supply, to stop using it until it has been repaired by
qualified personnel and not to attempt to any unauthorised
repair work on it.
2.13 Personnel qualification
These instructions specify various activities that must only be
carried out by appropriately qualified personnel.
Qualified electrician
Given their professional training, knowledge and experience as
well as knowledge of the pertinent standards and regulations,
qualified electricians are able and authorised to carry out work
on electrical wiring installations in buildings and to identify and
avoid potential hazards without any outside assistance.
Kitchen furniture designer
The kitchen furniture designer plans and designs kitchen furni-
ture for individual needs. He or she is familiar with the pertinent
standards and regulations on designing kitchen furniture and is
in a position to plan, put together and design kitchen furniture in
line with the state of the art for dierent spatial requirements or
to draw up design plans by him or herself.
Qualified kitchen fitters
The qualified kitchen fitter assembles kitchen furniture in line
with design plans and using planning aids to suit individual
needs, and fits kitchen furniture at the place at which a user
(owner) will be using such. They are familiar with the pertinent
standards and regulations on constructing kitchen furniture and
have the craft skills to fit and adapt such. They have the experti-
se necessary for installing electromechanical opening systems.

The user employs an Easys 100 system in the context of using his

without assistance.

The drive unit is used for opening drawers. It has a sensor (2)
that registers pressure applied to drawer front. When the sensor
is activated in response to pushing on the drawer, the drawer
opening lever (3) is actuated after a brief delay. This pushes the
drawer from behind, opening it via the pull-out system by the
distance defined by the drive force that is selected. Opening
force as well as drive unit address can be selected (> „3.3.1 Con-
trol dials, power indicator and connections on the drive unit“). Set
to the same device address, two drive units can be triggered side
by side to open large drawers.
The drive unit is hooked into the profile adapter with one side at
the required height and fixed in place in the profile on the other
side with the locking twist knob (1). Height can be subsequently
adjusted by opening the lock and moving the drive unit on the
profile.
3.2.2 Distributor
The distributor is used for distributing power from the power
supply unit to the system’s various components and permits data
communication between dierent components via the dedicated
connection ports.
3.2.3 Power supply unit
The power supply unit is used for supplying power to the system
and delivers a voltage of 24 V. It is plugged in to the [IN 24 V]
connection on a distributor and is connected to the mains power
socket by means of a country specific mains cable.
3.2.4 Set of profile mounts
The profile adapter set provides a base for holding the profiles
and for connecting them to the furniture. The profiles are insert-
ed into the profile connectors and, through these, connected to
the power supply and the distributor’s data line.
3.2.5 Set of profiles
The profiles serve as supports for the drive units. They can be
cut to length to suit the required height and then pushed into
the set of profile adapters. The profile set connects the 24 V DC
power supply and the data lines from the set of profile adapters
to the relevant contacts on the drive units.
3.2.6 Mounting bracket
The assembly bracket serves as a profile for confined or specific
installation situations. It consists of a preassembled package of
profile and profile adapters (> „3.2.5 Set of profiles“ and > „3.2.4
Set of profile mounts“) and a stabilising rear panel.
3.2.7 Button for collision guard
The collision guard button serves as a pushbutton for hinged
doors. It is used to prevent drawers from colliding with an open
hinged door.
When the pushbutton is triggered, all drive units connected to
the same distributor will be deactivated until the open hinged
door is closed again. The pushbutton can be distinguished from
the sensor for tall fronts by its black connecting cable.
3.2.8 Sensor for tall fronts
The sensor for tall fronts provides an additional sensor for tall
drawer fronts to extend the detection range on pressing the
drawer front panel. Triggering the sensor in response to a push
activates the drive unit (with address 1) connected to the same
distributor. The sensor can be distinguished from the collision
guard button by its white connecting cable.
3.2.9 Y-cable for sensor
The Y cable serves as a splitter cable at connection [6] on a
distributor. This cable extends the connection capability at the
distributor, providing two connections for sensors for tall fronts,

so as to extend the detection range of very tall or wide fronts on
pressing the front panel.
3.2.10 Distributor extension
The distributor extension cable provides a connecting cable be-
tween two distributors. It is connected to the [IN 24 V] and [OUT
24 V] ports.
3.2.11 Extension lead
The extension connecting cable serves as an extension cable
from a distributor’s connection [4] to a profile adapter set or an
assembly bracket. This cable provides the capability of connect-
ing components located very far apart in larger type kitchen
units (e.g. tall unit).
3.2.12 Cable for corner solution
The cable for corner solution provides a connection from one
drawer to another and permits data communication between
both distributors. It is used to prevent any collision between
drawers set across a corner.
When the drawer opening function of a drive unit connected to
one distributor has been triggered, the drawer opening function
of the drive units connected to the other distributor is deactivat-
ed until the open drawer is closed again.
3.2.13 Power cable
The mains cable is used for connecting the power supply unit to
the local power supply. It is connected to the mains power socket
of the power supply unit and, depending on version, comes with
a country specific mains plug.
3.2.14 Buers
The buers provide “spring travel” for front panels on drawers.
They keep the drawer at the requisite distance from the drive
unit sensor and allow the front panels to recede slightly after
pressing on the drawer.
3.2.15 Rear-panel adapter
The rear panel adapter serves as an adapter for installing dier-
ent drawer systems.
3.3 Controls, indicators and connections

On the drive unit there are two control dials.
The left hand control dial (3) can be used to adjust the driv-
ing force and hence drawer opening force (> „5.4.3 Setting the
driving force“).
The right hand control dial (4) can be used to select the drive
unit’s device address (> „5.4.2 Setting drive unit addresses“).
A drive unit’s device address must be selected individually for
each drawer level.
The drive unit has a power indicator in the form of a power LED
(5). When the drive unit is correctly connected, this lights up as
soon as the respective drawer is opened. In the event of a fault,
the status LED flashes or does not light up at all, even if power is
being supplied (> „8“).
When installed, the connecting contacts engage in the profiles
and are used for supplying power (1) and connecting up to the
drive unit’s data communication system (2).
Contact is made as soon as the drive unit is correctly installed on
the profile.

power supply unit’s mains plug is connected to the mains power
supply.

4. Shipment and packaging
Easys 100 components are delivered in secure individual packag-
ing or industrial packaging.
Onward transportation is the responsibility of the kitchen furni-
ture designer and qualified kitchen fitters.
4.1 Safety information on transportation and packaging

When playing, children and pets can get entangled in
packaging material (e.g. plastic sheeting) and suo-

• Keep packaging material out of the reach of children

5.1 Safety information on assembly and installation

Danger to life from improperly laid connecting
cables!
If connecting cables, particularly the mains cable, are
crushed or sheared o on moving furniture parts, live
furniture parts can result in fatal electric shock.
• Lay connecting cables, particularly the mains
cable, in such a way that they are unable to come
into contact with moving furniture parts, are not
exposed to intense heat or moisture and do not
run over sharp corners and edges.
• Secure the connecting cables with suitable faste-
ning materials (e.g. cable ties, cable clips).
• Never use damaged connecting cables

cured kitchen units tipping over!
On opening unsecured kitchen units, they can tip over
and cause serious injuries and considerable damage to

• When fitting kitchen units, secure them to the wall

Risk of injury on aluminium profiles shortened to
length!
Cutting aluminium profiles to length can produce
sharp edges that present a risk of injury.
• Always deburr aluminium profiles after cutting

5.2 System limitations on installation configurations
Drive unit
• A drive unit must only be used for opening a drawer weigh-
ing no more than 40 kg.
• Two drive units may be used for opening a wider drawer
weighing no more than 70 kg.
Power supply unit
A power supply unit must be used for powering no more than
the following components:
• 6 Distributors
• 12 profile adapter sets with a profile set and a total of 27
drive units
• Cable length of 10 m from the power supply unit enclosure
to the set of profile adapters positioned furthest away. This
