1 Product Overview
This Installation sheet describes how to mount and connect:
A Network Interface Module (NIM) to a Fire Panel
The Network Interface Module stores data received from the Networks Cards. The stored data is accessed by the
AFP-2800 and presented to the operator.
NOTE: The Network Card is supplied separately.
WARNING:
Remove all power sources to equipment while connecting the components.
Leave the external, main power breaker OFF until installation of the components are
complete.
2 Installation
1. Unplug from the PSI board:
a. The 27 Volt PSU Power Supply Cable running from the PSI board - see Connection Schematic.
b. The 4 - Way Power Cable running from the Termination board - see Connection Schematic.
c. The Battery Power Supply - see Connection Schematic.
d. The 10 - Way Ribbon Cable running to the Termination board - see Connection Schematic.

2. Remove the 4 M3 x 8mm screws connecting the PSI mounting bracket to the Loop Interface Module
(LIM)

NOTE: Do not remove the M3 Screws connecting the PSI Mounting Bracket to the PSI board.

3. Replace the existing M3 x 20mm Spacers and the M3 x 30mm Spacers with 4 M3 x 25mm Spacers
(#11171)

4. Replace the 40 - Way Ribbon Cable connected to the LIM ‘IN’ Port with the 100mm 40 - Way Ribbon
Cable (#10202) - see Connection Schematic.
5. Connect:
a. The 100mm 40-Way Ribbon Cable (#10202) to the NIM ‘OUT’ Port
b. The 40-Way Ribbon Cable (#10200) to the Termination Board from the NIM ‘IN’ Port - see
Connection Schematic.
c. The C30 3-Way Wafer Cable (#10206) to the NIM 24V – 0V – 5V Port
d. The loose end of the C30 3-Way Wafer Cable (#10206) to the Top Power Port on the
Termination Board - see Connection Schematic.
e. The NUP Cable (#11637) to the NIM NUP Port - see Connection Schematic.
f. The loose end of the NUP Cable to the Network Card NUP Port.
6. Set the NIM Dip-switches to:

7. Position the NIM (#11628) over the M3 x 25mm Spacers (#11171).
8. Secure the NIM at the top (#11628) with 2 additional M3 x 25mm Spacers (#11171)
9. Secure the bottom of the NIM with the 2 M3 x 15mm Spacers (#11828)

10. Position the PSI board assembly over the M3 x 25mm Spacers (#11171) and the M3 x 15mm Spacers
(#11828)
11. Secure the PSI mounting bracket to the bottom Spacers with 2 M3 x 8mm Screws (#2316)
12. Screw the top part of the PSI board to the top spacers with 2 M3 x 8mm Screws (#2316)
