Getting Started
Turn off computer’s power before connecting t e scanner, t en
power up t e computer once t e scanner is fully connected.
When the base is connected and powered up, put t e scanner in
t e base to establis a link. T e green LED on t e base flas es
to indicate t e scanner’s battery or charge pack is charging.

Note: The power supply must be ordered separately, if needed.

Connecting the Base
USB:
Note: If you are charging the scanner using the USB cable, the
current available for charging is reduced and charge times
are increased. Charging via the power supply is faster.

Reading Techniques
T e view finder projects an aiming beam t at s ould be cen-
tered over t e barcode, but it can be positioned in any direction
for a good read.
Note: If the scanner beeps times when scanning a barcode, the
link has not been established. If the scanner beeps once,
the link has been established.

T e following barcode resets all standard product default set-
tings.

USB Serial
Scan t e following code to program t e scanner to emulate a
regular RS232-based COM Port. Apple® Macintos computers
recognize t e scanner as a USB CDC class device and automati-
cally use a class driver.
Note: No extra configuration (e.g., baud rate) is necessary.
USB PC Keyboard
Scan t e following code to program t e scanner for a USB PC
Keyboard.
If you are using a Microsoft® Windows® PC, you must
download a driver from the Honeywell website. The
driver will use the next available COM Port number.

Keyboard Country
Scan t e appropriate country code below to program t e key-
board layout for your country or language. By default, national
c aracter replacements are used for t e following c aracters:
#$@[\]^‘{|}~. Refer to t e ISO 646 C aracter Replacements c art
in your User Guide to view t e c aracter replacements for eac
country.

Note: For a complete list of country codes, see the User Guide for

Locked Link
If you link a scanner to a base using t e Locked Link Mode,
ot er scanners are blocked from being linked if t ey are inad-
vertently placed into t e base. If you do place a different scan-
ner into t e base, it will c arge t e scanner, but t e scanner will
not be linked.

To use a different scanner, you need to unlink t e original scan-
ner by scanning t e Unlink Scanner barcode.
Override Locked Scanner
If you need to replace a broken or lost scanner t at is linked to a
base, scan t e Override Locked Scanner barcode wit a new
scanner, and place t at scanner in t e base. T e locked link will
be overridden; t e broken or lost scanner’s link wit t e base will
be removed, and t e new scanner will be linked.
Unlinking the Scanner
If t e base as a scanner linked to it, t at scanner must be
unlinked before a new scanner can be linked. Once t e previous
scanner is unlinked, it will no longer communicate wit t e
base. Scan t e Unlink Scanner barcode to unlink a scanner.

Trigger
T e following barcodes will allow you to use t e scanner in
Manual Trigger - Normal Mode (need to press t e trigger to
read) or Presentation mode (t e scanner is activated w en it
“sees” a barcode).
Note: Presentation Mode continuously draws power, so use of
the external power supply is recommended for this mode.
Streaming Presentation™
W en in Streaming Presentation mode, t e scanner leaves t e
scan illumination on all t e time and continuously searc es for
barcodes.

Suffix
If you want a carriage return after t e barcode, scan t e Add CR
Suffix barcode. To add a tab after t e barcode, scan t e Add Tab
Suffix barcode. Ot erwise, scan t e Remove Suffix barcode to
remove t e suffixes.
Add Code ID Prefix to all Symbologies
Scan t e following barcode if you wis to add a Code ID prefix to
all symbologies at once.
Note: For a complete list of Code IDs, see the User Guide for your
product.

Function Code Transmit
W en t is selection is enabled and function codes are con-
tained wit in t e scanned data, t e scanner transmits t e func-
tion code to t e terminal. C arts of t ese function codes are
provided in your User Guide. W en t e scanner is in keyboard
wedge mode, t e scan code is converted to a key code before it
is transmitted.
