Getting Started
Turn off computer’s power before connecting t e scanner, t en
power up t e computer once t e scanner is fully connected.
When the base is connected and powered up, put t e scanner in
t e base to establis a link. T e green LED on t e base flas es
to indicate t e scanner’s battery or charge pack is charging.

Note: The power supply must be ordered separately, if needed.

Connecting the Base
USB:
Note: If you are charging the scanner using the USB cable, the
current available for charging is reduced and charge times
are increased. Charging via the power supply is faster.

Reading Techniques
T e view finder projects an aiming beam t at s ould be cen-
tered over t e barcode, but it can be positioned in any direction
for a good read.
Note: If the scanner beeps times when scanning a barcode, the
link has not been established. If the scanner beeps once,
the link has been established.

USB Serial
Scan t e following code to program t e scanner to emulate a
regular RS232-based COM Port. Apple® Macintos computers
recognize t e scanner as a USB CDC class device and automati-
cally use a class driver.
Note: No extra configuration (e.g., baud rate) is necessary.
USB PC Keyboard
Scan t e following code to program t e scanner for a USB PC
Keyboard.
If you are using a Microsoft® Windows® PC, you must
download a driver from the Honeywell website. The
driver will use the next available COM Port number.

Keyboard Country
Scan t e appropriate country code below to program t e key-
board layout for your country or language. By default, national
c aracter replacements are used for t e following c aracters:
#$@[\]^‘{|}~. Refer to t e ISO 646 C aracter Replacements c art
in your User Guide to view t e c aracter replacements for eac
country.

Note: For a complete list of country codes, see the User Guide for

Locked Link
If you link a scanner to a base using t e Locked Link Mode,
ot er scanners are blocked from being linked if t ey are inad-
vertently placed into t e base. If you do place a different scan-
ner into t e base, it will c arge t e scanner, but t e scanner will
not be linked.
