Please read this manual before operating the equipment.
This unit must only be used for the intended purpose of calibrating pneumatic and/or electronic
torque tools.
Prior to commencement, ensure that:
• All necessary safety precautions have been carried out.
• A copy of this manual is available for any persons installing, using, maintaining or
repairing this equipment.
• Only competent, authorised personnel should install, set, operate, maintain and repair
this equipment.
Tips
• This equipment is designed for use in dry conditions. Do not use outside.
• Always wear the appropriate safety equipment when operating this equipment; such as
safety goggles or safety glasses and protective gloves.
• Do not place your hands between the tool and the strike plate.
Warnings
Any residual risks are identified within this manual with the equipment marked where
appropriate. Ensure these warnings are maintained.

• You can be injured if you do not obey the safety instructions as indicated
on warning stickers.

• Ensure that safety instructions and warnings attached to the machine
are always complete and perfectly legible.
• Keep warnings and instruction labels clean.
• Replace unreadable or missing labels with new ones before operating
the machine. Make sure replacement parts include warning or
instruction labels where necessary.
Hazard information signs
This warning indicates that there is a potential crush hazard and to keep
away from moving parts.
HTL Group Ltd guarantees its products against all design and manufacturing defects for 1 year
from the date of shipment. The guarantee does not include the ordinary wear of both metal and
non-metal parts, abuse and using the equipment beyond its rated capacity.
Please note that if the equipment is disassembled or serviced by anyone other than an
authorised service dealer or by HTL Group Ltd, this guarantee is rendered null and void.
In the event of a warranty claim, return the equipment to HTL Group Ltd or the authorised dealer
which sold you the hydraulic equipment. HTL Group Ltd will repair or replace the faulty
equipment, whichever is deemed most appropriate.
The run down simulator has been designed to calibrate pneumatic and/or electronic torque tools
by simulating the run-down of a soft joint. It is recommended the simulator be fastened down to
a sturdy surface through the four holes in the base plate.

1. Place TTT box onto mounting shelf as shown in the image below. Insert cable from TTT
box through the guard and connect to the transducer. Connect the TTT box to power
and switch on.
2. Insert desired hex adaptor into the 1.1/2” input square.
3. Place the correct size socket onto the tool to be calibrated.

4. Place the socket over the hex adaptor.
5. When tightening the reaction arm will rotate clockwise. Cycle tool slowly until reaction
arm makes contact with strike plate. Keep both hands on the tool and out of the way of
moving parts and strike plate. Tighten until desired torque is achieved and record output.
6. To loosen or break out, put torque tool into reverse. Cycle tool slowly until reaction arm
makes contact with strike plate. The reaction arm will rotate counter clockwise. Keep
both hands on the tool and out of the way of moving parts and strike plate.
The soft joint simulation should be serviced every 50,000 cycles by HTL Group Ltd or the
authorised dealer which sold you the equipment.
Check for signs of damage or wear before use and only use HTL components.
