2 Getting Started
Installing the SIM Card and the Battery
When installing the subscriber identity module (SIM) card, ensure
that its golden contacts area is facing down, and that the beveled
edge of the SIM card aligns with that of the SIM card slot.
Removing the Battery and the SIM Card
Before removing the battery and the SIM card, ensure that your
phone is powered off.
Installing and Removing a microSD Card
Before installing or removing a microSD card, power off the
phone. Once the phone is powered on, it will indicate whether
the microSD card has been installed correctly.
Your phone’s memory capacity is expandable using a microSD card.
When installing a microSD card, face its golden contact area down.

Charging the Battery
1. Connect the larger end of the USB cable to the charger.
2. Connect the charger to a power socket.
3. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the phone's charger
jack (USB port).
4. Wait until the battery is fully charged.
While the battery is charging, the charging icon is animated.
When the charging icon animation stops, the battery is fully
charged.
5. Unplug the charger from the power socket and then the USB
cable from the phone.
Calibrating the Screen
Once calibrated, the phone can respond accurately to your
fingertip's touch on its screen.
1. In standby mode, tap the key to access the main menu,
and then select Settings > Pen calibration.
2. During the calibration, a sequence of icons are displayed
on the screen. Tap each that appears on the screen to
complete the calibration.

During the calibration, tap every accurately to ensure
that the phone can respond to your tapping and text entry
correctly after the calibration.
Mass Storage
When the phone is connected to a personal computer (PC) using a
USB cable, Mass storage is displayed on the phone screen.
In Mass storage mode, you can manage the files stored on the
phone and its memory card from the PC’s file manager utility.
Phone Lock
The phone lock protects your phone from unauthorized use. The
preset phone unlock code is 1234. By default, the phone lock is
disabled. Once the phone lock is enabled, you are required to enter
the phone unlock code each time you power on the phone.
To enable the phone lock: in standby mode, tap key to access
the main menu and select Settings > Security settings > Phone
security > Phone lock. Enter the phone unlock code and tap OK.
To change the preset phone unlock code to any numeric string of
four to eight digits: in standby mode, tap the key to access
the main menu and select Settings > Security settings > Phone
security > Change password.
If you forget the phone unlock code, contact your service
provider.
PIN and PUK

The personal identification number (PIN) protects your SIM card from
unauthorized use. The PIN unblocking key (PUK) unlocks a blocked
PIN. Both the PIN and PUK are provided with the SIM card. For
details, contact your service provider.
If on three consecutive attempts you enter the PIN
incorrectly, the phone prompts you to enter the PUK. If on
ten consecutive attempts you enter the PUK incorrectly, the
SIM card will become permanently invalid. In this case,
contact your service provider for a new SIM card.
Switching Between Profiles Automatically
You can configure your phone to activate different profiles at
different time.
1. In standby mode, tap the key to access the main menu
and select Profiles > Profile auto switch.
2. Select an alarm.
3. Set the alarm status, alarm time, repetition days, and then assign
a profile to the alarm.
4. Tap Done then Yes to save the settings.
Locking the Screen and the Keypad
In standby mode, tap the key to access the main menu and
select Settings > Security settings> Auto keypad lock. On the Auto
keypad lock screen, select between Off,5 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, and 5
min to enable the automatic keypad lock. The
screen will lock after the phone is inactive for the time period
selected.
To lock the screen and the keypad manually, press the end key.

To unlock the screen and the keypad, slide
from left to right.
3 Voice Services
Making a Call
1. In standby mode, tap at the bottom of the screen to access
the on-screen keypad.
2. Enter a phone number, or tap to access the Contacts screen
to select a desired contact number.
To make an international call, quickly tap the *key twice to enter
a plus sign (+), and then enter the country or region code, area
code and phone number in sequence.
To call an extension number, enter the phone number, then p(tap
the * key three times), and extension number in sequence.
3. Tap or to dial the number.
You can also make a call from the Call log, Contacts, or
Messaging screen.
Answering a Call
When there is an incoming call, you can:
Tap Answer or to answer the call.
Tap Silent to mute the ringtone.
Tap Reject or to reject the call.

4 Text Entry
Changing the Text Input Mode
The current text input mode indicator is displayed in the upper left
corner of the screen. Tap on the QWERTY/Alphanumeric input
screen to switch between text input modes.

Text Entry Screen
1. On the QWERTY input screen, you can:

Tap once to clear the last entered character, or touch and
hold to clear all entered characters.
Tap to move the cursor to the next line.
Tap to hide the keypad.
Tap to access the alphanumeric input screen.
Tap to access the symbol/number keypad.
Tap to access the Input method screen from where you
can select a different input method.
Tap to switch between upper and lower case.
2. On the alphanumeric input screen, you can:

Tap to access the QWERTY input screen.

Entering Letters
On the QWERTY input screen, enter letters by tapping the key
labeled with the desired letters.
On the alphanumeric input screen, tap the key that carries the
desired letter, and then select the desired letter from the
displayed options.
Entering Numbers
On the QWERTY input screen, tap to access the
number/symbol keypad and then enter desired numbers.
On the alphanumeric input screen, tap to access the number
keypad and then enter desired numbers.
Entering Symbols
On the QWERTY input screen, tap to access the
symbol/number keypad where you can find commonly used

symbols. If the symbol you want is not shown, tap to
access the complete symbol keypad where you can find all
available symbols.
On the alphanumeric input screen, tap to access the
symbol keypad. There are four pages of symbols on the symbol
keypad and you can tap or to turn pages.
5 Messaging
Writing and Sending a Text Message
1. In standby mode, tap at the bottom of the screen to access
the Messaging screen, and then tap Write message.
2. Enter the phone number of one or more recipients in the
recipient bar, or tap to select one or more recipients
from your saved Contacts.
3. Edit the message content.
4. Tap to send the message.
Writing and Sending a Multimedia Message
1. In standby mode, tap at the bottom of the screen to access
the Messaging screen, and then tap Write message.
2. Tap Options and select Switch to MMS.
If you tap Add picture, Add sound, or Add video, the message
will automatically switch to a multimedia message.
If you tap Header info, and edit Cc, Bcc or Subject, the message
will also automatically switch to a multimedia message.

3. Enter the phone number of one or more recipients in the
recipient bar, or tap to select one or more recipients
from your saved Contacts.
4. If Cc or Bcc has been selected, enter the phone numbers of one
or more recipients as required.
5. If Subject has been selected, enter the subject of the message.
6. Edit the message contents.
You can add pictures, audio clips, video clips, text templates,
attachments, contact numbers, contact names, or bookmarks by
tapping .
7. Tap to send the message.
6 Phonebook
Creating a Contact
In standby mode, tap at the bottom of the screen to access the
Contacts screen.
To add a contact to your SIM card:
1. On the Contacts screen, tap Add new contact.
2. Edit Name and Number.
3. Select Options > Save > Yes.
To add a contact to your phone:
1. On the Contacts screen, tap Add new contact.
2. Edit the Name,Number, Email address, Caller picture,and Caller
ringtone.
3. Select Options > Save > Yes.

Searching for a Contact
1. In standby mode, tap at the bottom of the screen to access
the Contacts screen.
2. Enter the first letter of the contact name in the searching bar.
Contacts whose name starts with that letter will be displayed.
3. Tap to hide the keypad and find the desired contact from
the list.
Setting the Preferred Storage
1. In standby mode, tap at the bottom of the screen to access
the Contacts screen.
2. On the Contacts screen, select Options > Phonebook settings >
Preferred storage.
3. On the Preferred storage screen, select between SIM, Phone or
Both.
7 Camera
In standby mode, tap key to access the main menu and then
select Camera.
On the Camera screen, you can:
Tap to access the Options screen to view photos
or to configure settings.
Tap to take a picture.
Tap to adjust the brightness.
Tap to zoom in or zoom out.

Tap to set the image size.
Tap to set the image quality.
Tap to set the image effects.
Tap to adjust the white balance.
Tap to select the scene mode.
Tap to set the delay timer.
Tap to set continuous shot.
Tap to exit the camera.
8 Video Camera
In standby mode, tap key to access the main menu and then
select Video camera.
On the Video camera screen, you can:
Tap to access the Options screen to configure settings.
Tap to start recording.
Tap to adjust the brightness.
Tap to zoom in or zoom out.
Tap to set the video quality.
Tap to activate or deactivate night mode.

Tap to adjust the white balance.
Tap to mute or unmute the microphone for audio recording.
Tap to exit the video camera.
9 Sound Recorder
In standby mode, tap the key to access the main menu and
then select Applications > Sound recorder.
On the Sound recorder screen, you can:
Tap to access the Options screen to configure settings.
Tap to start recording.
While recording, you can tap to pause, and tap to
stop the recording.
Tap to view the list of saved recordings.
Tap to exit the sound recorder.
Tap to play the audio saved.
10 Media Player
You can play audio or video files stored on the phone or its memory
card using the media player, or add audio or video files to a
user-defined playlist.

In standby mode, tap the key to access the main menu and
then select Media player.
Creating a New Playlist
1. On the Media player screen, tap My playlists.
2. Select Options > New and name the playlist.
3. Select Options > Done to save the playlist.
Adding Audio or Video Files to a Playlist
1. On the Media player screen, tap My playlists and select the
playlist to which you want to add audio or video files.
2. Select Options > Open then Add > Phone/Memory card to select
an audio or video file.
3. Tap OK to add the selected audio or video file to the playlist.
Playing an Audio or Video File
1. On the Media player screen, tap My playlists and select a desired
playlist.
2. Select Options > Open then the audio or video file you want to
play.
3. Select Options > Play to play the selected file.
On the playing screen, you can:
Tap to access the Options screen to configure settings.
Tap or to switch to the previous or next file.
Touch and hold or to rewind or fast-forward the
file.
Tap to start playing the file.
Tap to pause the playback.
