Bef re sending the machine back f r suspected malfuncti n, we rec mmend that first
y u carefully c nsult secti ns regarding MAINTENANCE and TROUBLESHOOTING f
the manual, as a large part f the pr blems and faults are usually due t inadequate
maintenance r small technical pr blems which can ften be easily s lved by the user
himself.
A simple call t the I.A.C.E.R. Srl technical department may pr ve t be the s luti n t
the pr blem.
When re-packing the equipment f r return t the manufacturer, pr ceed as f ll ws:
1. unplug the machine and any c nnecti ns, devices, applicat rs etc;
2. carefully clean and disinfect all parts f the machine and access ries which have
been in c ntact with patients;
Any equipment which the technical department d es n t c nsider hygienic (Italian
law T.U.S. 81/2008 n safety in the w rkplace) will n t be accepted;
3. disassemble access ries and any mechanical supp rts;
4. use riginal b x and packing materials;
5. encl se Service Request F rm (available fr m the manufacturer) n which t

PRELIMINARY NOTES
−The installati n f the device d es n t require any special care, is theref re simple and
immediate.
USE −Each time y u click the START butt n r the STOP butt n the machine will emit a l ng

−Each time y u select the SMART-CARD will take a few sec nds t all w the machine t
rec gnize and l ad the card: meanwhile it sh ws the message PLEASE WAIT.
−The selecti n f the SMART-CARD is p ssible nly if previ usly inserted int the sl t.
−T prevent erasure r f rmatting f SMART CARD, c nfirmati n is required.
MAINTENANCE
−F r an ptimal use f the device and t guarantee its maximum perf rmance, it is
rec mmended t perf rm maintenance at the c rrect time and suggested ways.

patient himself the executi n f an effective treatment in time and place in c nditi ns f
abs lute safety.

USE
-On request we can pr vide the user manual in electr nic f rm.
-Because f security reas ns, the only specific software must be l aded int each machine.
In case f exchange f s ftware, the machine may immediately st p all its functi ns,
requiring the interventi n f I.A.C.E.R. Srl technical assistance.
-The Smart Card has t be intr duced keeping the g lden chip facing up.
-A new Smart-Card has t be initialized using FORMATTING bef re being used.
-If the card is intr duced in wr ng way r is n t f rmatted r results n t c rrect, a warning
wind w will appear with the inf rmati n ab ut the err r. Cl se the wind w clicking OK t
c ntinue.
-SMART-CARD pti n is visible (and theref re selectable) nly if the smart-card is pr perly
inserted in its sl t. In case f lacked inserti n f the Smart-card in its sl t r Impr per
inserti n, the pti n butt n SMART CARD is n t visible, f r which a p ssible selecti n
d es n t inv lve any acti n.
-The selecti n f pr grams t be l aded takes place by default in the user mem ry, that in
cases f n n-presence f the Smart-card (due t its lack r t an impr per inserti n in its

MAINTENANCE
-Use the pr bes/applicat rs with care: any misuse may affect their perf rmance and
features.
-Under n circumstances technicians n t auth rised by the fabricant are all wed t pen
and/ r disassemble the pr be/applicat r: such tampering, besides damaging its
characteristics, immediately invalidate the right t warranty.
-The equipment sh uld never be disassembled f r cleaning r inspecti n purp ses: the
units d es n t have t be cleaned internally, and if f r s me reas n the unit must be
pened, it sh uld nly be d ne by specialized technicians auth rized by the I.A.C.E.R. Srl.
-D n t use thinners, detergents, acid s luti ns, aggressive s luti ns r flammable liquids
t clean the external parts f the unit and access ries. Using these substances, r
misusing the access ries, will cause the immediate v iding f all warranty rights, as well as
irreparably damaging the unit.
-F r ptimal use f the apparatus and t ensure its ptimum perf rmances it is
rec mmended t perf rm pr perly within the time and in the manner rec mmended
maintenance acti ns.
-F r a c rrect replacement f the installed fuses, bserve the f ll wing indicati ns:
1. pen the fuse b x using a screwdriver, making sure y u insert the screwdriver in the
sl t n the fuse b x and levering up utwards;
2. rem ve the fuse h lder making it slide al ng the track;
3. rem ve the installed fuses and replace them with new nes;
4. replace the fuse h lder int the fuse b x, making it slide al ng the track;
5. cl se the fuse b x plastic d r.
−It is rec mmended t perf rm peri dic maintenance every year, in rder t check:
othe intensity f any leakage currents;
othe c ntinuity and thus the integrity, f the gr und c nduct r;
othe c rrectness f the value f insulati n resistance;
in rder t ensure the electrical safety f the device, ensure that it is perating in a safe
guaranteed. F r this kind f interventi n y u sh uld c ntact a qualified service technician
r alternatively I.A.C.E.R. Srl r ne f its auth rized service centers.

-The perfect functi nality f the device is guaranteed in acc rdance with the rules f
installati n and f use included, nly with riginal access ries and spare parts.
-If there are pr blems r installati n difficulties, please c ntact the I.A.C.E.R. Srl technical
assistance department.
-The c rrect p siti n while m ving the machine: the apparatus has t be m ved exclusively
by gripping it with b th hands n the curved pr files f the lid.
-Bef re c nnecting the cable t the mains plug, check that the equipment wasn’t damaged
during transp rt. Ensure that the p wer supply specificati ns n the mains s cket
c rresp nd with the inf rmati n n the label attached t the back f the unit.
-The electric current that p wers the unit is VERY DANGEROUS. Bef re c nnecting r
disc nnecting the p wer cable fr m the c nnecter n the unit, make sure it is plugged ut
fr m the mains s cket.
-The p wer cable has an earthed plug f r safety reas ns.
-Only use with a mains s cket suitable f r use with earthed systems.
-The equipment should only be connected to electrical systems that fully comply with
regulations.

USE

years) f the pr bes/applicat rs. I.A.C.E.R. Srl auth rised pers nnel sh uld carry ut such
perati ns.
-It is abs lutely f rbidden t c ver the ventilati n sl ts: such an acti n may n t all w the
machine t w rk in safe c nditi ns. In case f n n-c mpliance with this indicati n,
I.A.C.E.R. Srl will n t be resp nsible f r any accidents.

-Bef re starting the treatment, the perat r must make sure t rem ve all metal bjects
fr m the patient b dy, in rder t av id the triggering f danger us radi -frequency
c upling phen mena.
-Tecar therapy treatments must be pr vided, under the strict c ntr l f the perat r, nly
t "c nsci us" patients able t interact with the perat r in the face f electrical stress
transmitted fr m the machine.
-The premature terminati n f a therapy sessi n sh uld be d ne using the “St p” butt n: D
n t rem ve the plug fr m the 230V wall, d n t unplug the p wer c rd r perate the
bip lar ON/OFF switch.
-Once y u start the delivery f a pr gram, the butt ns n the t lbar are disabled and the
nly all wed perati n is t st p dispensing by pressing the PAUSE butt n.
-It is advisable t suspend the therapeutic treatment if it were t appear s me
disturbances during its emissi n.
-It’s str ngly advised n t t h ld the device n in state f start with ut using the pr be, it
c uld verheat.
-If the butt n OK is pressed t c nfirm the s ftware updating bef re having nnected the
USB-p rt t the s urce c ntaining the s ftware updating, the device g es ut fr m the
main pr gram and enters in the updating r utine waiting f r the USB c nnecti n. A screen
indicates the missed c nnecti n. If the supp rt t c nnect t carry ut the updating is n t
available, it is necessary t switch ff the device and turn it n again thr ugh the general
switch t restart the device with the available s ftware.
MAINTENANCE
-F r safety reas ns bef re carrying ut any maintenance r cleaning the unit, YOU MUST
turn ff the equipment with the p wer switch at the back and unplug the s cket
c nnected t the mains.
-Bef re every treatment, it is rec mmended t clean with cauti n all f the access ries
and the parts f the equipment that have been t c ntact with the patient.
-The perat r must pay attenti n t the necessity f a peri dic maintenance f the
pr bes/applicat rs. Auth rized pers nnel sh uld carry ut such perati ns.
-The cleaning and disinfecti n must be d ne systematically bef re the therapeutic
treatment which subject the patient.

The system f end thermic therapy is a therapeutic meth d f recent intr ducti n in
physical therapy, that all ws t stimulate fr m the inside the bi l gical structures and
the natural trials mended y u and anti-inflammat ry thr ugh the applicati n f
energy, expl iting a f rm f interacti n energy electr magnetic-tissue that it makes
reference t the physical principle f the c ndenser.
Device c nstituted by 2 leaned ut elements (called arms) and separated by an
insulating material, c nnected t an electric generat r that a difference f p tential
(d.d.p.) creates am ng the 2 plates. This means that the electric p siti ns are

Techniques of application
The capacitive/resistive tecartherapy (which stands f r Energy Transfer Capacitive
and Resistive) is a therapy that stimulates the b dy's natural repair pr cesses,
sh rtening the time f m t r rec very.
The diathermy, thr ugh the interacti n electr magnetic energy / tissue, pr duces a
temperature increase that takes place within the tissues in a unif rm and c ntr lled
way. This electr -magnetic interacti n induces an i n fl w with a micr -hyperemia
that ultimately pr m tes the release f "end gen us substances" (mainly c rtis l
and end rphins) that are used t reduce pain, edema and inflammati n.
I-TECH.AR stimulates the increase f bl d fl w in a direct manner, thanks t the
increase f temperature, and indirectly thr ugh the xygen demand fr m the treated
tissues; the increase f bl d fl w fav rs the increase f the n rmal immune system
activities and stimulates the tissue regenerati n.
I-TECH.AR perates in tw m des:

f the area bel w the m vable electr de and especially at the level f the s ft tissues
such as muscle
- in resistive m de, the c ncentrati n f electrical charges and thus the bi l gical
effect ccurs in tissues with the highest resistance that are between the m vable
electr de and the return plate, namely b ne, ligaments, etc..
How it works
Because the phen men n f increased charge density ccurs, it’s necessary that the
tw capacit r plates are c nnected t an electric generat r p tential difference that
is resp nsible f r supplying charges t the same arm r.
This establishes a real current in accumulati n phase g es fr m the generat r t the
c ndenser. As the capacit r builds up charge, the fl w is reduced t zer when the
capacit r is fully charged.
After this initial phase if the p larity f the generat r is reversed, there will be a
current in the pp site directi n that the l ad capacit r with pp site p larity t the
previ us. If the generat r reverses p larity peri dically there will be a fl w in b th
directi ns, i.e. an alternating current.
The transfer by capacitive contact ccurs thr ugh a capacitive electr de shielded with
ceramic insulating material ( f different sizes depending n the treatment area), that
m bilize the charges in the subcutane us tissue.
The resistive transfer ccurs thr ugh an electr de resistive (n t is lated) that
m bilizes the charges s that they are c ncentrated in the areas f greater depth and
resistivity (b ny matrix and deep musculature).

and lymphatics, adip se tissue), the resistive m de acts instead n tissues with
greater resistance (b ny tissue, cartilage, tend ns, ser us fascia).

cl se the circuit applied acc rding t a ge metric arrangement that all ws the
l cati n f the m re p int resistive r capacitive t the affected area (e.g., the
p pliteal gr ve in treatment f the knee).

gap between the electr de and the b dy surface and face adhere better irradiat r
and epidermis.

I-TECH.AR is an electr -medical device that delivers tecar-therapy treatments, with

The use f this equipment is reserved f r perat rs that, by their training, pr vide
assurance f pr per use and safe f r the patient.
The perat r, in fact, sh uld be qualified t be able t use such equipment, and he
sh uld have passed an adapted training, r sh uld perate under the c ntr l f a
medical adequately qualified t the use f the equipment, in rder t guarantee
safety c nditi ns t the patient.
Such equipment can be used in h spital envir nment utpatient, nevertheless, it is

All the c ntr l functi ns and the machine itself are handled and c - rdinated by a
micr pr cess r: apart fr m making pre-mem rised pr grammes available f r
applicati n, the micr pr cess r ensures that the machine can be pers nalised and
perated in a highly safe and efficient manner.
Interfacing all ws f r the perat r t c mmunicate with the unit by means f a large,
clear graphic backlit liquid crystal display screen (LCD) thr ugh which all perati nal
messages required by the perat r, w rk status during perati n, and err rs are
visualised.
The f ll wing paragraphs illustrate the pr cedures t be carried ut and the technical
specificati ns f the device.
They als deal with the different pti ns available, fr m the selecti n f a pre-
mem rised pr gramme f r use in specific treatments as well as h w t determine the
c rrect w rking parameters f r “pers nalised” applicati n”.
EST USE
After having installed and c rrectly p siti ned the machine as per the instructi ns
described in the previ us secti ns and c nnecting the applicat r c rrectly, plug the
machine int a 230Vac wall s cket and switch n using the ON/OFF main switch n
the back panel f the unit.
Once turned n, the LCD display lights up and HR TEK BASIC unit is ready f r use.
With the first turn n f the device, y u can set the language fr m the six available.
Turn the enc der t select the desired language and press it t c nfirm the selecti n.
Then press the SAVE butt n t save the changes. A c nfirmati n message will inf rm
y u f any m dificati n.
After a few m ments t l ad the settings, the LCD display will light up sh wing the
l g (see Fig.1), and appears a screen that all ws y u t select between f ur
perating m des (Fig.2) by tapping the c rresp nding butt n n the screen.

mem ry is executed. When f rmatting is c mpleted, a screen will appear sh wing
that the perati n is c mpleted (see fig.7).
If y u pr ceed with the f rmatting f Smart-Card but this supp rt is n t entered, the
perat r is inf rmed by an err r message.

DEFAULT
All ws t set the parameters f a standard therapy, m st c mm nly used, that can be
immediately used with the FREE PROCEDURE functi n.
Press the enc der kn b at the DEFAULT menu (see Figure 4). By default, it sh ws the
MODE parameter.
By turning the enc der kn b y u can ch se the emissi n m de, as f ll ws:
SEQUENCE (default setting), CAPACITIVE and RESISTIVE.
If y u select the CAPACITIVE r RESISTIVE m de the c rresp nding handle is
aut matically disabled, while in the SEQUENCE m de are b th active.
The parameters that can be m dified are the time f the treatment and the type f
electr de t be applied t the handle, acc rding t its diameter.
Per m dificare tali parametri pr cedere c me segue:
1. turn the enc der kn b t select the parameter,
2. press the kn b t highlight the parameter,
3. r tate the kn b t change the parameter value,

CREATE PROGRAMS functi n, and y u can l ad pr grams st red in the user mem ry.
Finally pressing the SMART-CARD PROGRAMS taste, appear n the screen the

in the smart-card.

Instead, press the SMART-CARD PROGRAMS butt n t create a pr gram n the
smart-card.
NOTE: If y u save a pr gram n Smart-Card but the Smart-Card is n t inserted, the
perat r is alerted by an alarm message (see dfig.12) t the n t inclusi n f the Smart

At this screen, t assign a name t the pr gram press the enc der kn b: appears a
curs r under the first character (see Figure 14), indicating the p ssibility t switch
between the characters that y u want t change by turning the kn b. Then press the
enc der kn b at the character t c nfirm y ur ch ice.

The I-TECH.AR device f r end diathermy d n t require any particular maintenance
perati ns , but nly a peri dic maintenance and cleanliness f the pr bes, in rder
t ensure the better perating c nditi ns, guarantee the effectiveness f the
treatment and the safety f the patient.
When cleaning the uter part f the equipment, make sure t use a s ft, clean cl th
dampened with luke-warm water r very mild n n inflammable detergents. The fr nt
panel can be cleaned in the same way .
The pr bes, particularly the head f treatment, peri dically sh uld be cleaned with
water and denatured alc h l.
St re with care the pr bes at the c nclusi n f every treatment.
