1. GENERAL PRINTER DESCRIPTION 2. OPERATION
Powering up the Printer
a) Set the power switch to the I-position (I=Power ON/O=Power OFF).
b) At the end of printer initialization, the display shows:
Note: The second line of the display message
(xxxxxx) specifies the current printer
configuration (Profile 1, 2, 3 or 4).
If a different message is displayed, refer to the Error and
Information Message Section.
Printing the Status Coupon
a) Press the On line/Menu key to access the main menu (Menu
mode). The display shows:
b) Press the Enter key to confirm. The display shows:
c) Use the Up and Down arrow keys to select
the desired bin x (1, 2 or 3).
d) Press Enter to confirm. The coupon is
printed.
Inserting a Coupon through the Front Feed
Slot (Option)
a) Initiate coupon printing from the host.
b) The Ready/Receive indicator flashes
rapidly.
c) Insert the coupon as shown.
d) The coupon is printed and output into the
secured stacker at the front of the printer.
e) If the size of the coupon is not compatible, it
is rejected through the front insertion slot.
3. LOADING COUPON STOCK
a) Power up the printer. If the Load Stock In bin 1 2 3 message is dis-
played, reload the
appropriate stock into
the bin that is out of
stock.
b) Read the instructions on
the stock box before
opening to assure
proper orientation.
c) Insert the staple stub of
the top coupon into the
appropriate feeder.
Preprinted information
on the stock will appear
‘upside down’ when it is
oriented correctly in the
printer.
4. CLEARING COUPON JAMS
If a paper jam error message is displayed (see Error Message Section),
leave the printer powered up and try to remove the coupon by pressing
the Resume/Escape key. If this does not work, proceed as follows:
a) To remove the jammed coupon from the paper path, unlock and
open the magnetic module pressure plate, print head module
and/or front panel to access and remove the jammed coupon.
b) For jams in the triple feeder
module, open the folding door of
the cabinet, grasp the coupon
and carefully pull it out from the
bottom of the feeder assembly.
c) If the coupon cannot be removed
from the bottom of the triple
feeder, raise the magnetic
module pressure plate and
remove it from there.
We recommend that you feed the
coupon (see arrow 1) with your
finger either up to the magnetic
module pressure plate or down to
the cabinet to remove it more
easily.
d) Close and lock the magnetic module pressure plate by pressing the
button marked PUSH.
e) After the jam is cleared, close
and lock all paper path module
covers, side cover, top cover and
folding door, then press the
Resume/Escape key to resume
printing.

5. PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Variations in the environment and in paper stock may increase the
frequency of dust build up in the printer, as well as print head and roller
contamination. The printer should be checked periodically and cleaned
if dust build up and print head or roller contamination is observed.
Cleaning the Printer
a) Power down the printer.
b) Open the folding door of the cabinet and the printer top cover giving
access to the paper path. Remove the coupon stocks from the
cabinet.
c) Rotate the print module and the magnetic module pressure plate up
to the locked position.
d) Unlock the front panel and rotate it towards the front.
e) Use the can with compressed air from the IER cleaning kit, P/N
S32132A, to remove dust from the entire paper path.
Cleaning the Thermal
Print Head and the Platen
a) Power down the printer.
b) Open the printer top
and side cover.
c) Rotate the print module
up to the locked
position.
d) Clean the print head
using a felt tip print
head cleaning tool from
the IER cleaning kit.
e) Rotate the front panel towards the front.
f) Using the IER cleaning kit, moisten the cloth with cleaning solution
and clean the entire surface of the platen.
Magnetic Heads (Option)
a) With the printer in Online mode, press the On line/Menu key to
initiate the Menu mode.
b) Remove stock 1 from the
triple feeder module.
c) Insert the premoistened
cleaning felt (IER P/N
T106108) into stock 1
slot of the triple feeder
module.
d) Press the Up arrow key
twice to display Clean
Printer submenu.
e) Press the Enter key once
to select and confirm the
cleaning task. (This
initiates the automatic
cleaning process and
upon completion, the
used cleaning felt will be
output into the secured
stacker).
f) Remove the used cleaning felt, replace ATB stock into the stock 1
input slot and then close the side and top cover, as well as the
folding door of the cabinet. Next, press the On line/Menu key to
initiate the Online mode and resume ticketing.
6. ERROR AND INFORMATION MESSAGES
The error and information messages are listed below. For any other
error messages or if a problem occurs repeatedly, contact the help
desk.
Coupon Jam
Err5 – (ABCDEF) A coupon jam was detected at zone A, B, C, D
or F of the paper path (area specified in the
message). Clear the jammed coupon from the
indicated area, then press the Resume/Escape
key to reset the printer for ticketing.
Coupon Jam
Err5 - Feeder A coupon jam was detected at the triple feeder
module. Clear the jam, then press the
Resume/Escape key to reset the printer for
ticketing.
Load Stock
In bin 1 2 3 Reload the printer with the stock corresponding
to the bin number (1, 2, and/or 3) specified in
the message to resume printing.
Out of Paper
Load Stock The bin currently used is out of paper. Reload
the printer with appropriate stock.
Please Empty Stacker
Press Resume/Esc. The secured stacker is full. Remove the printed
coupons. To resume printing, press the
Resume/Escape key.
